SOLO ACTIVITIES

VOCAL (SINGING)

CATEGORIES

Classical ( include Ragas)

Semi Classical ( songs based on Ragas)
Folk (regional songs, based on regional language)
Light western ( Genres – Jazz, Blues, Waltz, includes carols, gospels, inspirational songs)
Light Indian (includes geet, ghazal, bhajan)

RULES AND REGULATIONS –

DURATION : 2-3 minutes.
Students may use a karaoke track.
The lyrics of the songs must be decent, according to the decorum of the school. If any
vulgarity is found, the
participant risks being disqualified.
The judgement will be purely on the quality of singing.
The participants may wear a decent costume for the performance.
The accompanist on the instrument must be a student.
Discipline will be included in the marking criteria.
Decision of the judges will remain final and unchallenged.

INSTRUMENTAL (for accompaniment)

Strings Includes any string instrument , any

composition
Percussion Includes any percussion instrument, any beat

Keys Includes any composition

DANCE
SOLO CATEGORIES
Classical Dance (any Indian classical dance form)
Folk dance (any regional dance)
Western dance ( Hip hop, contemporary, jazz, waltz, salsa)

Activity- Fabric Painting

a) Design
b) Neatness
c) Visual impact.
3) Rules & Regulations –
a) Article size- Stool cover of 20”X 20” or Thali cover.
b) Material- Fabric colour & cotton fabric.
c) Fabric edges can be finished at home but drawing & painting will be done in school
only.

Activity- Carry bag Designing

1) No. of participant – Single

2) Judgement criteria –
a)Creativity
b) Neatness
c) Overall presentation
3) Rules & Regulations –
1) Size – Full size handmade sheet/chart paper should be used for making carry bag.
2) Any medium & material can be used for designing.
3) No preparation should be done at home.

Activity- On the Spot Painting

1) No. of participant – 1
2) Judgement criteria –
a) Relevance to the topic
b) Neatness
c) Visual impact.
3) Rules & Regulations –
a) Size of the sheet – A3 size
b) No colouring & pasting should be done.

Activity- Mehndi

1) No. of participant – 1 (+1 non participating partner)

a) Design

c) Visual impact
3) Rules & Regulations –
a) Full hand front & back should be applied.
b) Arrange your partner for mehndi application.

GROUP ACTIVITIES

Indian orchestra (composition – self or other)

 Size of the pot - Minimum – 12” and Maximum – 20”
 Base paint should be done at home & designing work will be done in school only.
 Any medium & material can be used for designing.
 Duration - 2 ½ hrs.

Activity-Diwali Lamp / Lantern

c) It should be 3 dimensional.

Activity- Wall Hanging

a) It should be prepared using some waste materials.

Activity- Rangoli
