A Picture is Worth a Thousand Flowers

Ball Ground, Ga. (Oct. 1, 2019) — Gibbs Gardens, a Georgia landmark with over 220 acres of
beautiful gardens and landscaping, is launching a photography contest this fall for amateur
photographers.

The contest limits the applicants to 12 submissions of photos taken between March 2017 and
September 2019. Deadline is Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. The work may not include any people or pets; it
must fall into one of the four categories: flowers and foliage, landscape scenes, waterlilies, and
fauna. The winners of the contest, who will retain ownership of the work, will have their
photography displayed during the Waterlily Festival from Oct. 21 through Oct. 31. They also will
receive various cash prizes or free garden memberships. More information can be found at
gibbsgardens.com/contest.

“A picture is worth a thousand words, or maybe flowers in this case. I want everyone to be able
to experience the breathtaking scenery here at Gibbs Gardens, and I believe that the best way
to bring in the community is by keeping them engaged,” said owner Jim Gibbs.

The garden, which is now a Georgia landmark is located in Ball Ground and consists of over
200 acres of land with four different feature gardens: Japanese Gardens, Monet Waterlily
Gardens, Arbor Crest Manor House Gardens, and Daffodil Gardens. The garden hosts various
flower festivals and musical performances throughout the year.
