GLA, to whom it may concern:

My name is Alejandro Pedraza Ruíz, I’m a 29-year Mexican traveller and I’m very
interested in being a part of the GLA family.

I´ve been participating in outdoor activities, since I can remember, went to my first
international camping in Canada by age 13, started working in a local summer
program by age 15. These activities showed me a little bit of the kind of impact that I
like to have on other people’s life. I learn way more from my instructors and
counsellors than what I have bargained for and enriched my life in a way for which I’m
still very thankful.

As a former competitive swimmer I was involved in different activities that required
working with groups of younger generations, whether for technique clinics, water
safety programs, or helping in fundraising events. From there I went on to study
psychology; before graduating I started working as a sport psychologist for my home
town’s age group division in a variety of sports, as well as my private practice in sport
psychology for young athletes. Afterwards I started working as a student counsellor
for a university and a career advisor for high school students. During this period I
learn how to interact with audiences that could range from the dozen, all the way to
500 individuals at the same time. I also had the opportunity to help develop events,
both cultural and athletic, for over 1000 students and their parents form different
parts of México.

I’ve always love to spend time outdoors and experiencing as much as I can of what
nature has to offer, I’m proud to say that I’ve travelled almost all of my country’s main
land, exploring its beaches, dunes, mountains, cliffs, deserts, cenotes, waves, and
food…obviously. As well as the natural wonders of other parts of the world. Weather
is climbing, camping, swimming, surfing or freediving I love sharing this adventures
with other people.

I’m psychologist with a high performance management diploma, a former competitive
athlete, dancing and yoga teacher, freediving instructor, and meditation guide. I love
music and I love using it to connect with other people. My work is always goal
oriented, with a very creative and flexible approach to problem solving without
compromising an empathic approach with my team; based on the values that I think
GLA stands for, I believe this background would make me a rally good choice for
director. Hope to hear back from you soon and hope to be a part of the GLA family in
2020.

Sincerely:
Alejandro Pedraza Ruíz
