The Odyssey​ Project Ideas with Criteria

Choose one and complete by December 12. We will share them too!
To get an “A”, you need all the elements listed here to be represented for the project you
choose. Ask for help if you get stuck!

1. Write a narrative of an episode from a different point of view. A crew member’s view could be
really interesting. Also...Polyphemus discusses Odysseus “breaking and entering” and
“malicious wounding.” Helios discusses what happened to his cattle and the subsequent demise
of ALL of Odysseus’ men. Penelope discusses her life with the Suitors.
Narrative should be about 2-3 pages double-spaced.

2. Take an episode and make it into a children’s book, illustrated it too! Try the BookWriter app.
Book should have at least 16 “pages,” (of a children’s book), illustrated with writing

3. Write and film a news story. You may use an interview, docu​drama, sports report, live on the
scene reporting, special news bulletin, etc… Costumes and props will add to the fun. Try the
Touchcast app.
Video should be about 4-5 minutes long

4. Create a Jeopardy game board using PowerPoint focusing on the entire journey or a variety
of episodes. You can also do a Quizlet Live and we can all play!
Jeopardy version should have enough questions/answers for a complete “board” (36)

5. Create a board game of Odysseus’s journey, include instructions, game pieces, & question
cards.

6. Create a graphic/comic strip of an episode. Try ​https://www.storyboardthat.com/

7. Create a high school yearbook with descriptions of at least six characters. Don’t forget to
include the gods and goddess, monsters, dangers, etc… Include superlatives and teams/clubs
they were in. Also a quotation they will leave as their legacy.
Include the above items, a brief description of who they are and their “accomplishments”
and make it look like a yearbook.

8. Create an illustrated timeline of Odysseus’s journey; begin with the end of the Trojan War. Try

Timeline should have 8-10 events on it

9. Theme song: Find a song that reflects some of the themes or hardship that Odysseus faced,
and create a music video that highlights some of what he had to endure. Try the Directr app or
just make a video as you normally would.
Video should be about 3 minutes. Check out some old 80’s/90’s videos to get inspired.

10. Create an ​Odyssey​ virtual museum tour. Think of all the things you could put on display in a
museum from Odysseus’s journey. Each museum item needs to have a description with it, as
they do in real museums. Try Adobe Spark or the Artsteps app.
Museum should have at least 10 items, with a description for each
