Food Contact
The European Regulation 1935/2004/EC deals with materials and articles intended to come into contact
with food. The principle underlying this Regulation is that any material or article intended to come into
contact directly or indirectly with food must be sufficiently inert to preclude substances from being transferred
to food in quantities large enough to endanger human health or to bring about an unacceptable change in the
composition of the food or a deterioration in its organoleptic properties. The use of Easyprint ribbons as listed
in the table below, is in concordance with this Regulation and the LFGB (previously known as BGA
requirements).

With regard to the FDA food contact (USA) regulations the approval is based on the Code of Federal
Regulations (CFR, 175.105) and in these instances the Easyprint ribbon (T1L) is in concordance with these
requirements.
UL certification of readability
The use of the following Easyprint ribbons, in conjunction with approved labels, is in concordance with the
requirements of UL laboratory certification with regards to readability (barcode scanning) and durability
(resistances) of a printed label

Waste code suggested for these articles is 20 01 39 (Municipal Waste and Similar Materials from Commerce
and Industry – Plastics).
