A high school surrounded by students. Then the bell rings. In fast motion students
stampede up the steps.

HALLWAY

Students are everywhere. Suddenly we find a wooden door that leads to a classroom.

CLASSROOM

A teacher stands in front of the classroom lecturing the class. We hear a door open and
slam. The teacher looks at the door. There stands a girl with books being held up against
her chest.

FRANCE
I must be in the wrong classroom.

TEACHER
Well, it depends. What class are you supposed to
have?

FRANCE
History.
 TEACHER
You’re in the right class. You must be new. Go
ahead and sit wherever. This class is usually full, but
our basketball team is at the finals so a whole
bunch of students went to watch. Why don't you
come up and tell us a little about yourself?

FRANCE
Okay.

Lori walks up to the front of the room and stands behind the podium.

FRANCE
My name is France Rivera. I am from Makati and I
am new to this school. I like rock music and some
country. I think school sucks and history is the most
boring subject, no offence. That's all.

TEACHER
Thanks Miss Rivera. I appreciate your honesty.
What do you like to do on your free time?

FRANCE
Ride my bike, hang out with my friends. But I can't
do that now because I am 100's of miles far away
from them.

TEACHER
Okay. Since you have established the fact that you
think history is boring, what is your favorite subject
in school?

FRANCE
Ummm....I would have to say, Art. I love to draw.

TEACHER
Well that is good because we do a lot of art
projects in here. You may sit down, unless you have
got more to say.

FRANCE
Is it true?

TEACHER
Is what true?
 FRANCE
That there once lived an insane killer in the
basement of the school?

TEACHER
France you've got to realize that a lot of rumors are
spread throughout schools in the state.

FRANCE
I get that, but you did not answer my question.

TEACHER
(sighs)
There was, yes. But he was killed in a fire 10 years a
go.

CHRISTIAN
They say that he comes back and haunts the school
on the anniversary of his death. And today is his 10
year anniversary.

A student from the back of the room sat there. A gothic male.

TEACHER
Thanks for sharing, Christian. You may sit down
now France.

France heads back to her seat.

FADE OUT.

SCHOOL

The school bell rings. The cafeteria is full of people. France walks out of a lunch line with
food in her hands.

CHRISTIAN
Hey, France. Come sit with us.

Christian sits at a table with other gothic students. France walks over to the table.

FRANCE
Hi.
 KIM
What's up? You new here?

FRANCE
Yup.

France turns to Christian.

FRANCE
Hey, Christian was it?

Christian nods.

FRANCE
Was, what you said in class, was it true?

CHRISTIAN
Every year one student is found dead..... In the
basement.

KIM
Christian, invite her.

FRANCE
Invite me where?

KIM
We want to check out the basement. Hopefully we
can catch a glimpse of that maniacal janitor's ghost.
You want to join us?

FRANCE
I'm totally in.

SOFIA
Okay. Meet us at the pillars after school.

FRANCE
The pillars?

KIM
That's right, your’e new here. Ummm.... You see
that door way? When you go through it, you take a
left and keep going straight. You will find a set of
doors that lead to the outside. That's where the
pillars are.
 FRANCE
Okay. Tell me. What is the story behind that killer?

CHRISTIAN
Well, it was said that back in 1995 one of the janitors went
crazy. He went missing and all of a sudden high school students kept
disappearing. They were found dead, in the basement. And in the
basement they found the janitor's shack. They found a bed, some
books and blankets. A year later that part of the school caught on
fire. The janitor's body was found burnt to a crisp. The building was
rebuilt that same year. Since then on the anniversary of his death
there has been at least one high school student found dead in the
basement.

FRANCE
How did the fire start?

SOFIA
No one knows for sure.

FRANCE
What building got burnt down?

KIM
This one.

FRANCE
Then where is the basement?

KIM
In the sophomore hall.

The bell rings and everyone rushes to their classes.

CHRISTIAN
Pillars, ok?

FRANCE
Uh-huh.

FADE OUT.

SCHOOL
France walks down the empty hallway and exits through those doors. Christian and his
friends sit on the steps.

CHRISTIAN
You made it. We thought you'd never show.

FRANCE
My locker is up stairs and I couldn't get it open.

CHRISTIAN
Ya, these school's lockers really suck. That is why
we don't use them.

LANCE
(clears throat)

CHRISTIAN
Oh ya, this is Lance and this is Raffy.

CHRISTIAN
Hi.

FRANCE
Where is the other girl?

CHRISTIAN
Who, Sofia? She will be here in a..... In fact she is
right there.

France turns around and sees Sofia heading towards the doors and then walking through
them.

SOFIA
Are you guys all ready?

CHRISTIAN
France?

FRANCE
Ya.

KIM
You guys? Uh... ya, What are we waiting for?

LANCE
Oh, ok. Come on. We dont have all day.
They get up and walk inside. Christian digs through his bag and takes out three cameras.

CHRISTIAN
Alright. We are going to have to split up in to two
groups.

LANCE
Why?

CHRISTIAN
Because I only have three cameras. Okay, so...
Lance, you team up with Kim.

KIM
You have got to be kidding me.

CHRISTIAN
(hands camera to Kim)
Don't get your hopes up.

LANCE
Don't worry Kim. I don't bite.

CHRISTIAN
(hands camera to Raffy)
Raffy you team up with Sofia.

Sofia looks at Raffy. Raffy begins to blush.

CHRISTIAN
France, you’re with me. Any questions?

KIM
Ya, why the hell do I have to be with stupid boy
over here?

CHRISTIAN
Because i think it’s funny.

KIM
You know what Christian? You suck!
Voice: Janitor's son - I want to be the worst serial killer in history. The worst of the worst. I want to be
greeted at the gates of hell by Hitter and Satan. I want to take over and unleash the wrath on here. I will
make those who killed my father pay.

FADE OUT.

SCHOOL

Kim and Lance walk down the hallway.

LANCE
You know Kim. We are all alone.

KIM
In your dreams Lance.

LANCE
It was worth a try.

KIM
This is boring. What the hell are we supposed to be
doing?

LANCE
You've got the camera. Look out for something
supernatural and once you see it tape it.

KIM
You bore me.

SCHOOL

Christian and France walk into a small theatre room.

FRANCE
This school is pretty creepy when no one is here.

CHRISTIAN
Ya. Everyone leaves after school is out. This school
is cursed.

FRANCE
It's just an urban legend. Where's the proof?

CHRISTIAN
 You see that door to your left?

FRANCE
Ya, what about it?

CHRISTIAN
It leads to the basement. The proof you seek lies
behind that door. Go ahead and go down there.

FRANCE
That's quite alright.

CHRISTIAN
I see, that part of you believes the so called "urban
legend." Tell me France. What school did you
attend before this one?

FRANCE
What does that have anything to with why we’re
here?

CHRISTIAN
Why do you answer a question with a question?

FRANCE
Why do you?
(giggles)

We see Raffy and Sofia walking down another hallway.

RAFFY
It's so quiet.

SOFIA
Everybody is gone. The only people left are
probably janitors.

RAFFY
Explain to me again why Christian got me into this?

SOFIA
You know the reason why. It just gives him a reason
to hang out with that new girl. She is pretty cute. I
am surprised she is not a prep.

RAFFY
 What are you saying? That he is trying to make me
jealous?

SOFIA
That’s about the size of it.

Clunk! Clunk!

RAFFY
(turns around)
What was that?

SOFIA
Don't know, let’s go check it out.

They walk towards the girl’s bathroom.

RAFFY
It came from in there.

They walk in there and the lights are off. Sofia flips the switch and on the mirror are the
words:

INSERT

"GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN"

Those words are written in red. Almost like blood.

SOFIA
This must be Christian's art work.

RAFFY
That brat. When I get a hold of....

The words "Get out" were whispered.

SOFIA
Raffy, is that you?

They walk out of the bath room. Sofia looks down the hallway.

SOFIA
Raffy?

RAFFY
 This is just too weird. Let's go find everybody and
get the hell out of here.

Back to Christian and France. The sound of keys jiggling came from the auditorium.

FRANCE
What was that?

CHRISTIAN
I don't know. Come on?

FRANCE
It's getting scary. Let's just go.

CHRISTIAN
I am going to check it out, you can stay here.

Christian walks up the steps to the auditorium.

FRANCE
Christian...

France follows him. When they enter, a subjective POV watches them as they walk off of
the stage.

Christian gets a flashlight out and turns it on. He points at France.

FRANCE
Hey, stop that.

CHRISTIAN
I knew you wouldn't stay back there.

FRANCE
This whole empty school, that stupid story you told
me, it's all just getting to me.

CHRISTIAN
At least you’re honest.

The jingling noise was heard again.

CHRISTIAN
Hello?

FRANCE
Let's get out of here.
 CHRISTIAN
You can, but I want to go check it out.

Christian walks up the staircase, disappearing into the darkness.

FRANCE
Christian? Where are you?

No answer. Another Subjective POV watches France through the operating room. All of a
sudden the lights come on to the auditorium.

FRANCE
Christian? Where are you?

The subjective POV watches her again.

France catches a glimpse of a dark figure in the operating room.

FRANCE
Christian? Is that you up there?

No one answers. France rushes out of there scared.

We go to Lance and Kim. Lance and Kim are chilling at the top of the staircase.

KIM
I am so bored.

LANCE
Ya, well... I can make you not be...

A loud scream is heard downstairs.

KIM
Was that Sofia?

Lance and Kim rush down the stairs to find Raffy and Sofia.

LANCE
What the hell was that scream about?

RAFFY
She thought she saw a mouse.

Kim begins to giggle.

SOFIA
 It's not funny. Mice are nasty little things.

LANCE
Okay, you know what? This is completely bogus.
Let's go gather everyone else and leave.

France rushes out of the room and into the hallway. She runs into everybody else, but
Christian.

LANCE
We were just going to find you go... Where's
Christian?

FRANCE
I don't know. He walked up the steps in the
auditorium and then the lights turned on and he
disappeared.

LANCE
Great.

SOFIA
What? What is going on?

LANCE
We've got to find Christian, like right now.

They walk down the hallway. They pass the girls. The subjective POV walks out and grabs
Sofia and walks back in to the girl's bathroom.

They reach the cafeteria and Raffy notices that Sofia is gone.

RAFFY
Guys? Where's Sofia?

LANCE
I don't know. She was right behind us.

KIM
Damn it. It's just like her. She probably got
sidetracked.

LANCE
You know what? I bet that Christian and Sofia are
working together, to try and scare us.
 FRANCE
No, what if Christian was right? What if the story is
true?

KIM
No way. There is no such thing as ghosts. And you
know what? I bet I know where they might be.

FADE OUT.

SCHOOL

The gang stands at a door and open it.

ERIC
I'm not going down there. No way, no how. I say
France and I go in to the auditorium and see what
we can find and you and Kim go down there and
see what you can find.

KIM
Fine. Come on Raffy.

Kim and Raffy walk down the steps and France and Lance walk into the auditorium.

LANCE
I thought the lights were turned on.

FRANCE
They were.

LANCE
Did he walk up those steps?

FRANCE
Yup.

LANCE
Let's go up there.

They walk up the stairs and through the door that leads into the operator’s room. They
find Christian on the floor knocked out.
A dark figure stares at them from the bottom as Lance and France try to wake Christian
up.

LANCE
Christian? Christian wake up. Come on man wake
up.

CHRISTIAN
Oh... Damn. My freaking head hurts.

FRANCE
What happened?

CHRISTIAN
I don't know. I walk in here and then I felt pressure
against my head. And then I wake up here.

LANCE
Sofia's missing. She was right behind us and she
went missing.

CHRISTIAN
It's happening.

LANCE
What's happening?

CHRISTIAN
The janitor. His soul has returned. He's here to kill.

LANCE
Come on man. We all know this was just a prank to
scare France.

FRANCE
What?

CHRISTIAN
Don't worry, it's just an initiation we do with new
students.

FRANCE
Thanks. I've been, so played.

CHRISTIAN
Help me up.
They help him up.

CHRISTIAN
Where is everyone else?

LANCE
Kim and Raffy are in the basement.

CHRISTIAN
What?! We got to go find them. Let's go!

They run out and run to the basement door. They run down the steps and into the
basement.

CHRISTIAN
It's been a while since last time i was down here.

France screams.

CHRISTIAN
What?

LANCE
It's... it's Sofia!

Christian runs over to the body and sets his fingers on her pulse. There isn't one.

CHRISTIAN
She...she is dead. We've got to find Raffy and Kim.

JANITOR'S SON
I am afraid that it’s too late.

They turn around in shock.

CHRISTIAN
Who the hell are you?

JANITOR'S SON
Let's just say i am the legend of which your
generation is scared of.

CHRISTIAN
You’re the one who's been killing? Why?

JANITOR'S SON
I guess you could say it's revenge.
 LANCE
Revenge for what?

JANITOR'S SON
The death of my father,

CHRISTIAN
Why?

JANITOR'S SON
Why? WHY?! Your stupid history teacher killed him.
He found out that my father was killing the
students here. He took gas and poured it
everywhere. He lit the place on fire. I came to visit
my father and I see him running out the doors in
flames.

CHRISTIAN
Why aren’t you after the teacher instead?

JANITOR'S SON
I am getting to him through you. I figure that killing
off the most important things to him will make him
suffer.

CHRISTIAN
Your father was a serial killer. Why stick up for him?

JANITOR'S SON
It wasn't his fault he went insane. It was the
students. They made messes on purpose just to get
to him. They would spit in his face and tell him to
clean it up. They all deserved it. And so do you.

The janitor comes at them with a hammer and they run the opposite direction. They see
Raffy and Kim laying on the floor with wounds in their heads. France screams.

CHRISTIAN
Come on!

They run up a set of stairs. They open a door. The janitor stands there and strikes Lance
in the head.

FRANCE
No...
 CHRISTIAN
Jesus.

They run around. Axel trips over some clothing and hits the wall. He is knocked out.
France rushes to his aid.

FRANCE
Christian...

The janitor stands right above her. Hammer upraised. France crawls back crying for
mercy. He gets closer and closer until France kicks him in the knee and he falls down.

France runs up the steps and out the door. She runs into the drama room and hid in a
dark corner.

JANITOR'S SON
France... Where are you?
She sits there curled up and all of a sudden
Christian grabs her causing her to jump. He pulls
her into the darkness.

FRANCE
Chris...

CHRISTIAN
Shh...

JANITOR'S SON
Come on France, it doesn't hurt. Well actually you
will feel a slight sting, but it ain't much.

The janitor's son find them France crawls away as Christian is being choked to death.
France gets up and runs into the auditorium she hides in between two curtains. Then all
of a sudden the sound of something crashing causes France to jump.

Lori wakes up in her mom's car and her mom saying:

MOM
Lori, wake up. We’re here. You don't want to miss
your first day.

LORI
You have no Idea...
