Statement of the Problem
The main problem of this study was to find which is more effective between dragon fruit
and rose petals as dye colorant for clothes.
Specifically, this study aimed to answer the following:
1. How will the clothes color intensity react?
a. when soak into water
b. when exposed to sunlight
Hypotheses
Ha: There is a significant difference between dragon fruit and rose petals as dye colorant
for clothes.
Ha: There is a significant difference between the effect of water and the heat from the sun
to the clothes containing dyes from dragon fruit and rose petals as to its color intensity.

Scope and Delimitation

This research tackled about the effectiveness of dragon fruit and rose petals as sources of extracts
that can be used in making dyes.

Focus:
• To determine what is more effective between Dragon fruit peels dye and rose petals dye.
• Compare the two dyes as to its intensity of color when exposed to water and sunlight.

Materials:
• Red violet colored peels of Dragon fruit
• red violet rose petals
• cotton clothes
• same amount of water

Process:
• Decoction (Boiling Extraction)
Survey:
• Online Survey (Facebook)
• 30 respondents
