This document introduces the product features, mechanical parts, assembly and disassembly
procedures, and common troubleshooting methods. You will be able to clear common faults of
the product after your learn this document.

3 Exploded View
The components listed in the following table are structural parts of the phone, and cannot be used as
reference when requesting spare parts.
Because some components cannot be assembled in the production line, you need to apply for
component assemblies. The integrated structures of the Y330 include the rear cover assembly
and the battery cover assembly. The rear cover assembly includes the rear cover, antenna, and
side-key rubber pad. The battery cover assembly includes the battery cover and side keys.

To query the BOM information about a mobile phone and pictures corresponding to the
BOM codes:
1. Choose Basic Information > BOM Tree Info. Define the values for Product Line,
Product Type, Product Model, and Product Description. After defining the value, the
system will display the comprehensive BOM information of the phone in the form of
BOM tree structure.
The BOM codes are displayed in detail in the tree shape.
2. Click the BOM code. The system displays the part picture.
5 Software Upgrade
5.2 Precautions
Check that the battery has sufficient power remaining to prevent an upgrade from being
interrupted.
Upgrading the phone will erase the user data. Back up the important data before an upgrade.
1. Do not change the names for the upgrade package and folder.
2. A microSD card upgrade will erase the internal memory of the phone.
Touch SD card upgrade > Confirm. The phone automatically restarts and displays the
startup logo then the upgrade screen, as shown in Figure 5-2.
Upgrade process
When the screen shown in Figure 5-2is displayed, the SD card upgrade is in progress. If
the upgrade succeeds, Figure is displayed. The SD card upgrade is complete.
If the upgrade is successful, the phone automatically restarts.
If an error occurs during the upgrade, the screen shown in Figure 5-4 and the upgrade failure
cause will be displayed. If the upgrade failure cause is not displayed on the screen, send the
sdload.log file in the dload folder to the R&D personnel. Obtain the log and contact the R&D
personnel.
During a microSD upgrade, some of the upgrade information is displayed on the screen, while
most information is saved in the sdload.log file.

Upgrading Software
1. Click Start All.
2. For a main board, Start changes to DA, FR, or DL, and the indicator and progress bar
turn yellow. This indicates that the upgrade proceeds.
3. For a phone, click Start All, connect the phone to the computer using a USB cable,
install the battery, and the loading starts when Start changes to DA, FR, or DL and the
progress bar turns yellow.
Upgrade Completed
1. If the indicator and progress bar turn green, the upgrade succeeds. Click Start All to
upgrade the next phone.
2. If the indicator turns red, the upgrade fails. Click Start All to re-upgrade the phone.
Precautions
1. When you re-identify the port numbers of each phone, if some of the port numbers are
the same, you may have mixed the USB cables. To address this issue, clear the check
boxes of the repeated port numbers, and re-identify them.
2. If you fail to identify the port numbers due to misoperations, restart the computer.
3. After you install the tool's drive on the computer, the drive will be automatically
installed to each port during the upgrade. If the installation cannot be automatically
carried out, follow the instructions to manually install the drive.
4. When the upgrade fails, you can perform the upgrade again, but you cannot switch to
another station for an upgrade.

6 Maintenance Tools

8 Assembly Procedure

Before you repair an Y330, restore it to its factory settings to ensure that the failure is not
caused by environmental factors or function settings. Before the restoration, remember to
back up importance data on the phone. The faulty PCBAs removed from Y330 phones at
common service centers must be kept clean and complete to ensure that advanced service
centers to repair them properly.

2. Power on the phone and check whether the current on the phone changes.
(1) No current: Check whether the power key FPC is broken and whether the FPC BTB
connector is smudged or disconnected from the PCBA to exclude the PCBA fault. If
the preceding issues do not exist, replace the PCBA.
(2) Weak current (25–80 Ma): Forcibly upgrade the PCBA using a micro SD card or
USB cable. If the upgrade fails, replace the PCBA.
(3) Excessive current: If the current is above 800 mA, replace the PCBA.

2. Test the power off current. If the current exceeds 1 mA, the PCBA must be faulty.
3. Measure the power-on and standby currents. If the currents are excessive, the PCBA
must be faulty.
If the preceding conditions are not met, the battery must be faulty. Then, replace the
battery.
Troubleshooting process:
9.4 No Charging
Fault symptom: The phone fails to be charged using the USB cable.
Solution:
Charging failures commonly includes two types:
Without the charging icon on the screen
With the charging icon on the screen
Without the charging icon on the screen: Check whether the USB connector is in good
condition. If not, replace the USB cable. If yes, replace the PCBA.
With the charging icon on the screen: Test whether the ground impedance is 10 kohms and
whether the voltage between the battery's positive and negative terminals is 0 V. If the voltage
is 0 V while the impedance is much larger or smaller than 10 kohms, the battery is faulty.
Replace the battery and check whether the phone can be properly charged. If the fault persists,
replace the PCBA.

9.5 No Ringtone
Fault symptom: The speaker has no sound output.
Solution: Replace the PCBA if:
1. Call to see if the receiver has the sound input. If there is no sound, the PCBA must be
faulty.
2. Insert the headset and FM to see if the headset has the sound input. If there is no sound,
the PCBA must be faulty.
If the preceding conditions are not met, the speaker must be faulty. Then, replace the
speaker.
1. Call and enable the loudspeaker. Check whether your voice can be heard. If there is no
voice, the PCBA must be faulty.
2. Insert the headset and call. Check whether your voice can be heard. If there is no voice,
the PCBA must be faulty.
If the preceding conditions are not met, the receiver must be faulty. Then, replace the
receiver.
11 Functional Tests
11.1 Keys

Volume down
1 CBT/Board 1 Board After the phone enters the MMI test, the background program
test automatically searches for the phone's manufacture information,
including the BC, CT, and BT status. If any of the stations'
status is F (fail), Failed to pass Board Test is displayed on the
phone screen. Press the Volume Down key to go to the next
test.
If the status is P (Pass), this test item is qualified. The mobile
phone automatically enters the next test.
3 Key test 3 Keys Follow the picture information displayed on the screen, and
press the Volume Down key. The pictures will be highlighted.
If the phone passes the test, press the Volume Down key to go
to the next test.
4 LCD test 4 White screen The LCD displays the white, black, red, green, and blue screens
Black screen in sequence. If the phone passes the test, press the Volume
Down key to go to the next test.
Color screen
Press the Volume down key to display the white screen.
Press the Volume down key to display the triple color bars (red,
green, and blue).
5 LCD 5 LCD The brightness of the backlight will progressively increase. The
backlight backlight brightness has three levels (dark, medium, and bright).
test Manually determine whether the phone passes the test. If the
phone passes the test, press the Volume Down key to go to the
next test.
6 Touch panel 6 Touch panel Take the following operations to test the touch panel:

If the touch panel is insensitive or does not respond, mark the
phones as defective and place it separately.
If the test succeeds, press the Volume Down key to go to the
next test.
Remove your finger cot (or glove) when touch the screen to avoid test
inaccuracy.
If the test fails, perform the following operations to test the
touch panel:
1. Power off the phone. Press the Volume Up and Power keys
to enter the recovery mode.
2. Click calibrate TP.
3. The phone restarts after the calibration is complete.
During the calibration, do not touch the touch panel and keep
the touch panel upward.
8 Motor test 8 Motor If the motor vibrates intermittently, the test succeeds. Press the
Volume Down key to go to the next test.
9 Speaker test 9 Speaker 1. Check that the phone plays the music in loops without issues
of any sound, weak sound, noise, or cracking sound.
Place the phone 30 cm away from your ear and do not block
the speaker.
2. If the test succeeds, press the Volume Down key to go to the
next test.
10 Receiver 10 Receiver 1. The phone screen displays the Click to Record icon. When
test you touch the icon, the character changes into Click to Play.
The phone uses its main microphone for recording. The
maximum length of the recording is 10s.
The main microphone is in the bottom of the phone. You
can record sound as if you are making a normal phone call.
You need to check manually whether the headset functions
properly after the test.
2. Test the headset microphone recording function.
Test the receiver in the headset in the same way that you test
the main microphone.
The test item is passed only if the In and Out icons turn green. Press the
Volume Down key to go to the next test.
14 Bluetooth 14 Bluetooth 1. After the phone enters the MMI test, it automatically
test searches for Bluetooth-enabled devices in range. If any
device is searched out, its MAC address is displayed in the
MAC list on the phone.
If the MAC address of the sample phone is preset in the list,
the test succeeds.
2. If no MAC address is present, touch Confirm to search
again.
3. If the test succeeds, press the Volume Down key to go to the
next test.
Prepare two Bluetooth devices and place them 5 m away from the phone
to be tested.
15 Gravity 15 Acceleration The LCD displays the current acceleration in the X, Y and Z
sensor due to gravity axes. If the phone can be placed in a position where the angles
test between the phone and the X, Y and Z axes are 45 degrees, the
phone passes this test.
16 Wi-Fi test 16 Wi-Fi If the phone receives Wi-Fi signals properly, it passes the test.
Ensure that the phone under test is within the coverage of a Wi-Fi
hotspot.
17 SIM card 17 SIM card If a SIM card is inserted into the phone and functions properly,
test the test item passes. Press the Volume Down key to go to the
next test.
18 Display of 18 Display of the After all test items are complete, the phone displays the test
