The deliverable of the project is a set of preliminary drawings that follows zoning by law and Ontario building code. The main challenge of the project is to analyze a piece of land for its intricacies such as grading, sizing and shape, then build a sen- sible structure to fit the needs of its inhabitants. The design also has a strong focus ‘on sustainable living, considerations such as solar heat gain from skylight windows placements are incorporated into the design. These damages included a worn out staircase, several rusted columns and a some broken and. discoloured exterior cladding. The client asked for the look and feel of a’small european church, with a focus on cost effectiveness and installation efficiency. We proposed to Use a set of the materials with similar texture and to use a colour scheme with a focus on natural wood colours. The handrail is repainted from bare metal to the appropriate texture and colour; We used outdoor cover on the terraz~ 20 stairs to match the colour of the wall; The metal col- umns already have wood siding cover which matches the texture of the handrails. reposts Conceptual Rendering & Consultanting -Hsuan (Alenxia) Lee SketchUp / Photoshop The original dwelling facade shown below has gradual ly deteriorated with age, the wood siding started to lose its function. We identified a few sidings that needs to be replaced, then suggested to use a wood colour for the facade. The handrail was severely rusted, however its in- tearity is stil in tact and it is still safe and usable. In order to save money, we recommended sanding it down and repainting the handrail. The front porch and stairs were heavily damaged by daily usage, but the owner wanted to keep the terrazzo material, so we added stair tread and, rubber paver to prevent further damage. The conceptual picture showing below on the right was the proposal. We provided new landscaping design and facade renovation, ideas to the owner as the deliverable for our consultation. ‘ | fF ‘oped Conc aernage FOUR Art Installation Project Project Type: Installation & Lighting Project Date: 2016 Winter Presented By: I-Hsuan (Alenxia) Lee Software: 3Ds Max/ Revit / Photoshop The focus of this art installation is to produce drama and unsettle the visitor. It uses strong, intense lighting oriented from an unusual po: sition to illuminate the focus of the piece, and it uses darkness to produce intrigue and mys- tery. This piece shows a masterful sculpture rendering in 3DMax, and lighting positioned in Revit. This is a work where shadow and light dances to produce an experience half rooted in reality, and half in imagination 212 ganthands ertance ew FIVE Flusso Italian Restaurant Project Type: Restaurant Project Date: 2016 Winter Presented By: |-Hsuan (Alenxia) Lee Xueyin Zhang Software: Revit / Photoshop / Illustrator For this project we produced a set of 3D rendered model and a foor plan of an italian restaurant. The focus of this restaurant is transmutation, more specically the trans- mutation of Spaghetti noodles. Some parts of the restaurant represent the original state of Spaghetti, which is rigid and straight. However, the majority of the restaurant uses curved lines which represents cooked noodles. The curved s bar, ceiling design, restaurant booths, and the parametric wall. This d activates the appetite of guests for authentic Italian noodles. Office Design Project Type: Corporation Collaberation Office Design Project Date: 2016 Winter Presented By: IHsuan (Alenxia) Lee Lilly Wu Software: Revit / Photoshop / Illustrator This is a educational cooperative project where the George Brown College students designed and compete and create the office space for our client, a major company in. the water fountain fabrication industry. A representative from the company specified the requirements they would like in their office as well as their main purpose of the office, to attract millennials. We visited three different offices for our research to com- pare/contrast and find inspirations to design the office for our client. By studying and analyzing our case studies, we learnt what the pros and cons are for an office design. With these information, we are able to apply them to our concept which is inspired bya kaleidoscope, to design a new office for our client. 25 Designer's Goal Our design concept is based on our cli- ent’s cutting edge creations, which in- cludes dramatic effects of water, colours, and shapes. These elements inspired the use of the kaleidoscope which is an op- tical instrument that produces changing patterns due to repeated reflections of colourful objects that are contained in the scope-The design of the office space ill incorporate the visual transforma- ions and reflective patterns of the Kal doscope. 20. ‘Breakout Area in.
