OR CON) to the hills (GUAMANI), the puquios Carapulcra: in the whole región carapulcra is
(PACHENCA AND TRUTIS), the sun, the moon prepared, but Chinchana is clearly different
and the constellations of the seven kids from those prepared in other cities, having a
(ONCOI). good reputation throughout the country, being
the most representative dish of Chincha

peanuts, etc.

ORIGIN
CHINCHA CULTURE was characterized by
being one of the cultures that stood out for
their archaeology of Ancient Peru and that
belonged to the Belated intermediate
period. It covered all the valleys of Ica,
Lima and Arequipa. Although the political
center of the politics of culture was
concentrated in the Chincha valley.
The culture was conquered by the incas
durin the Pachacutec Inca Yupanqui reing
and was definitively incorporated into the
Empired in 1476 during the time. The
Chincha population culture was divided
among the nobility, who were in charge of
administrative positions, the piests and
the people.
SCIENTIST DISCOVERER:
It would be the German archaeologist Max
Uhle, since he was the first archaeologist
to make scientific studies on that culture.
AGRICULTURE
Agriculture as an economic activity. In
fact, this activity was so relevant to this
civilization that 40 % of the labor forcé was
dedicated to the cultivation of plant
products. The most common products
were beans, cotton, corn and pallares. In
this area, were even developed hydraulic
systems to irrigate the driest land to
increase agricultural production.
CERAMICS:
The Chincha ceramics have a very
characteristic style, despite the influences
of the Middle Horizon and the inca tradition.
The pieces are very well made, elaborate
and decorated. The shapes are pitchers with
neck and handles in the uppeer part, bottle
shapes, barrels, cups, plates with vertical
walls and figurines. They produced globular
pitchers with short necks and long necks.
All were given a small and cramped
decoration, real brushed, grecas as well as
human, animal and vegetable figures.
Among the latter stand out those of
fish,birds and dogs.
FISHING was also of relevance, being the
second most labour – intensive economic activity
