1. Product overview
AQ3485 / AQ3485Y pipeline network type temperature and humidity transmitter for HVAC
applications is the accurate measurement of relative humidity and temperature of an ideal solution
that can be used for serious environmental pollution, transmitters use high-quality precision digital
temperature and humidity sensors, with excellent long-term stability, low delay, strong ability of anti-
chemical pollution and very excellent repeatability.

Installation Order
1. The 4-core (or shielded) connecting cable transmitter side four wires are connected to the
transmitter connector 1,2,3,4 foot (with shielded cable shield connected to the power ground);
2. Access to the other end of the corresponding power supply and computer (need 485
converter), or other appropriate equipment;
3. The transmitter fastened around the shell;
4. Prior to turning on the power after checking the wiring is correct, check the transmitter output
is normal;
5. The transmitter can now work properly.
8. Connected to a power supply

If each transmitter uses a separate power supply, please deal with issues common to each
transmitter. This transmitter prohibit the use of AC power, or they may cause damage to the product.
AW3485 series of wall-mounted network-based temperature and humidity transmitter power based
on the connected load conditions permit within 12 ~ 36V DC power supply range, lower than 12V
will enable the transmitter is not working properly, higher than 36V will cause damage to the
transmitter.
9. Connected to the testing equipment

This transmitter with RS485 communication, so it may be a computer testing equipment. RS485
communication but also other appropriate host, when connected to a computer, such as "typical
application" shown below, note that the transmitter between the computer serial RS232-RS485
converter is required to connect at A + and B- do not connect error, connection error will cause the
bus does not work, when cascading multiple transmitters, need driving ability of RS232-RS485
converter (recommended active converter). When connecting to a host of other RS485
communication, please read this agreement carefully transmitter.
Note 1: Connection error will likely result in product damage.
Note 2: Note detect ground relationship between the device and the transmitter.

10. Slave address and baud rate settings
The universal transmitter with Mod Bus-RTU protocol, the following settings are based Mod
Bus-RTU protocol.
Baud rate setting
RS485 communication, we must first determine the host machine from the baud rate, the baud
rate is not the same cause communication unsuccessful.
Open the transmitter from the back cover, you can see there are two sets of switches on the PCB
of the transmitter, which is a group of two DIP switches (see the internal structure of the product
description section 1.5) is the baud rate setting switch . The switching status and baud rate shown in
the following table correspond to:

11. Slave address setting

According ModBus-RTU protocol, each terminal has an address, according to the PCB board
after eight DIP switch (see the internal structure of the product description section 1.5) to select the
desired setting address, allowing up to eight devices 255 (addresses from 1 to 255) connected to the
system.

With DIP switch to the ON position for a corresponding, to the OFF position 0.
In this system, when the address selection switch to 0 (00000000) when (not recommended in
this way), the default slave address for one shown in Figure 1:

Note: Before selecting the measuring range jumper operation, turn off the transmitter power.

Note 1: The number of registers two bytes, as in the example 0X0002 representative reads the
value of the two 16-bit registers, meaning that the host issues a command frame is: command device

data which comprises two bytes, two bytes of temperature data.
13. Numerical
The value returned from the machine can be divided by 10, corresponding to the temperature
unit (℃), corresponding to the humidity unit (RH%). For example, the humidity value from the

machine returns 0x02B1, then the 0x02B1 drawn into a decimal value 689, then the value of the
resulting 689 ÷ 10 is what we want to humidity 68.9 (% RH).
14. Error check code (CRC check)

Master or slave available checksum discriminate receive information is correct. As electronic
noise or some other interference during transmission of information is sometimes an error occurs, the
error check code (CRC) can test the host or machine information in the communication data
transmission from is wrong, wrong data can give (whether sent or receive), thus increasing the safety
and efficiency of the system.
CRC Mod Bus communication data (cyclic redundancy code) contains two bytes, or 16-bit
binary number. CRC code is calculated by the transmitting device, placed in the end of the
transmission information. The device receives the information and re-calculating the information of
the received CRC, the calculated CRC is compared with the received line, and if they do not match,
then the error.
During the CRC calculation only 8 data bits, start bits, stop bits, and parity bits are not involved
in CRC calculations.
●CRC code calculation method
1. Pre-register a 16 hexadecimal 0xFFFF (is 1 as a whole), call this register is the CRC register;
2. The lower an 8-bit binary number that (the first byte of communications and information
frames) with 16-bit CRC register eight different or, the results put in CRC register;
3．The contents of the CRC register is the right one (towards low) with zeros to fill the highest
bit and check out bit right after;
4. If the bit is 0 out: Repeat the third step (right one again); If removing bits 1: CRC register
with the polynomial 0xA001 (1010 0000 0000 0001) XOR;
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the right 8 times, 8 so that all the data have been processed;
6. Repeat steps 2 through 5, the next byte frames to communicate information processing;
7. The communication message frame is calculated for all bytes after the completion of the
above steps. The resulting CRC register contents is: CRC code.

17. Warnings and personal injury

Do not use this product as safety or emergency stop devices, and may lead to failure of the
product to any other application in personal injury.This product should not be applied unless there
are special purpose or use authorization. Before installation, handling, use or maintenance of the
product to the reference product data sheets and application notes. Failure to comply with this
recommendation, it may result in death and serious injury. The Company will not assume the
resulting injuries and deaths for all damages, and thus exempt from any claims against the company
managers and employees and affiliated agents, distributors, etc. that may arise, including: a variety of
costs, damages costs, attorneys' fees and so on.
18. Quality Assurance
The company provides a period of 12 months (one year) quality assurance (calculated from the
date of shipment from) their direct purchasers of the product. Data sheet published by the company

for the product's technical specifications shall prevail. If the warranty period, the product is proved to
be defective real quality, the company will provide free repair or replacement. Users must satisfy the
following conditions:
① The product is found defective within 14 days written notice to the Company;
② The product should be returned to the purchaser paid to the company;
③ The shelf life of the product should be.
The company only for those applications where the product meets the technical conditions to
produce defective product responsible. Company for its products used in those particular applications
without any guarantee, warranty or written statement. The company applied to the product or its
products in the circuit reliability nor make any promises.
