CHINA GEOLOGICAL SURVEY (CGS)

Under the Ministry of Land and Resources of China (MLR), the


China Geological Survey (CGS) is authorized by the government
to carry out:
Acquisition and updating of basic geological data by regional
geological mapping, geophysical and geochemical survey, and
remote sensing in China.
Earth science research and geo-technology innovation.
Exploration and prospective assessment of key mineral and
energy resources in China.
Investigation and assessment of underground water, geological
environment and geological hazards in China.
International cooperation for geological survey, Earth science
research, mineral resources exploration and scientific exchange.
