Importance:

In an organization, organizational structure helps or guides the employees on which part or what can
kind of job they are about to do, who they report to, and for managers, who reports to them. In other
words, it helps every employee to determine their respective job or responsibility in corresponds to
their position in an organization.

Focused Issues:

Organizational structures arranged people and jobs so that its work can be performed and its goals can
be met.

Applicability:

When a work group is very small and face-to-face communication is frequent, formal structure may be
unnecessary. But in larger organization decisions have to be made about delegation of various tasks.
Thus, procedures are established that assign responsibilities for various functions. It is these decisions
that determine the organizational structure.

Importance
-Managerial control has a big role in meeting a certain organization goals. First, controls guide
the management in achieving pre-determined goals because it helps in taking corrective actions
in future if the performance is not up to the mark. Second, it ensures an effective use of scarce
and valuable resources because in control system, performance of every person is regularly
monitored and deficiency is corrected at the earliest. Third, control helps in coordination of
activities through unity of action.

Focused Issues
-Its aim is to achieve defined goals within an established timetable, and comprises the three
components: (1) setting standards; (2) measuring actual performance; and (3) taking corrective
action.

Applicability
-Because it is one of the primary functions of management and it regulates the organizational
activities; thus, management takes place in setting performance standards, measuring
performance and taking corrective action when necessary. Managerial control regulates the
organizational activities and compares the actual performance and goals.
