Article Evaluation : Women in the Military: Why Can't We Serve on the Front Lines? by Dani Moritz

Introduction
* the Defense Department had open up to 14,000 job opportunity for women in the military
* The department also added that there might be a barriers in time and the services held by while
they were serving in the military.
* However, some of them seems very uncomfortable with the idea of women serve in military.
* They believed that women should not get involved in fighting. Instead, they should be focusing in
their motherhood job at home.
* Women should not serve in the military front line for several reasons- gender equality and job
equality, gender discrimination,for their safety and sexual harassment and the monopoly on
emotions.

Body

1. Job Equality - all kind of job opportunity should be open to both men and women - the Service
Women’s Action Network held that women might not technically allowed in serving the combat but
they have been doing so for quite a long period - For some people, they thought that women might
not be able to fight but they are proven wrong as women are still vulnerable to fight back with the
units of convoys and go out on a mission. - Women are truly enable to have a successful position in
military including the front line. - Despite this, due to a restriction, women are banned from having a
successful careers including to be in front lines in military.
2. Gender Discrimination - Gender equality had been an issues in the military as there are rules for
women on which position they should served in. - if this gender discrimination kept on going, the
military cannot put an end to their equality for many years. - Besides this, the basic issues why
women cannot serve in front line is due to the respect. - Women often lacks of respect from others
as they were believed to do job at home or cooking in the kitchen.
3. Safety,and sexual harassment - Women often gets more attention than men. Therefore, sexual
crimes often happened among women and this are also the main reason why women did not have
much attention to serve in front line. - They might being harassed during their services in the military
by their supervisors and could not be able to share about it to anyone or they might lose their job. -
if this crime can be prevented from happening again, we can safely integrate women in position like
the infantry. - until then, women are not allowed to serve in the front line of military unless there
are a progress in terms of the sexual assault, discrimination and opening a position for women.
4. The monopoly on emotions - We often heard that women are more emotional compare to men
and they often hold themself. This had suggest that women’s mental health does not pose a higher
risk than men. Therefore, any women who serve in military are more resilient to its effect and they
did not need to be protected by others or by the difficulties of combat as they can take the heat.

Conclusion:
* As a conclusion, we think that women should also serve in the military because they had the rights
to defend our country from any terrorists. Serving the militaries might requires a tough and a high
demand of the gender. Thus, if any of the women who are able to meet with the same trainind
standards as men, then only that they can became an asset for the team. Therefore, women should
not be discriminize due to their gender, job equality,sexual harassment and the monopoly of
emotions.
