BODY PERCUSSION PROJECT

6th Grade Music

Project Description: In class, we have been learning the song I’ll Think of You by Kurt Hugo Schneider. In addition to

learning how to sing the song, we also learned some simple body percussion to go along with it. In this project, we will

be using our knowledge of rhythms, meter, and body percussion to compose.

For this project, student will:

1) Form groups of 2-3 students

2) Compose a 4-measure body percussion breakdown for the middle section of the song (see rubric for

specification of requirements)

3) Practice their composition in class and prepare to perform it

4) Perform their composition for the class and turn in their notated composition
