Gas Geothermometer

Chemical Reactions
D´Amore and Panichi (1980) suggested a semi-empirical
gas geothermometer based on gas composition of fluids
from 34 thermal systems. They found that there was a
relationship between the relative concentration of H2S,
H2, CH4, CO2 and reservoir temperatures. The following
two chemical reactions were considered:
