INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
As a Logistics Account Executive (LAE), you will be entering a $350 billion world of unlimited opportunity
and growth potential. Of the $350 billion logistics industry, freight brokerage makes up an estimated $70
billion. TQL’s freight is comprised of three modes: Full truckload freight, less-than-truckload (LTL) and
intermodal. With annual sales of $2.3 billion, TQL is the second largest freight brokerage firm in the U.S.
Yet, we represent only 3.3% of the market share of the freight brokerage industry.
This exercise will help you understand the vast opportunity of being an LAE at TQL. You’ll gain a better
understanding of our prospecting and our lead generation processes.

ASSIGNMENT
Think of a finished product and list as many of its components as you can that at
some point in the supply chain process is shipped on a truck. Below, we’ve broken
down some of the components of Lunchables, which has 30+ raw materials alone.
