Executive Summary

Human Resource Practices is an essential part of managing the human resources of the
organization effectively. This can be seen as a strategic step towards the management of the
human resources of an organization. It looks into the short term and long term goals and
merges them effectively. A decision that may seem profitable in the short term may not be
successful in the long run. HRP determines the future employment needs of an organization
as well as ensuring that the organization had the right number of qualified people in the
right place and at the right time.

The case sensitive issue is that the Akij Cement Company Limited is undergoing major
operational transitions. This is the time that the organization will rely or fall back on the
employees to take them forward. The human resources stabilize the operations even if there
are turbulences in the external environment. Human resource practices can be seen as the
process of anticipating and making provisions for the movement (flow) of people into,
within, and out of an organization. HRP's purpose is the effective deployment of human
resources through: anticipating organizational labor supply and demand, providing
expanded employment opportunities for women, minorities and the disabled and guiding
the development and training of the workforce.

The steps behind strategically analyzing the HR needs include looking at the availability of
workers in the population of the country that the organization is operating in. Moreover,
these workers need much handling and molding. This is seen as a necessary step in
supporting them via training, proper work environments and the benefits in their
compensation packages. All these activities have associated monetary implications which
have to be undertaken alongside looking into the profitability of the organization. Human
resource planning (HRP) process is an imperative constituent of the human resource
management strategy. Human Resource Planning Process helps to ensure that operations
are not only efficient but also timely in response to customer demand.
