It is 4:30am on a Tuesday night and Arnold is studying for his finance test. He is in the
Dawg House at Butler University. The room is hot, the room is humid, and he is sweating. He
continues to wipe off the sweat from his face. He picks up his pencil and noticed that his hand
was red. He was really confused and thought maybe he was bleeding. He went in the bathroom
and looked in the mirror. There was red blood in his hair and was dripping on to his forehead. He
was confused, but thought maybe it was a scab that opened up. He headed back to his seat and
started studying. Suddenly, blood landed on his finance notes… he looked up…there was a guy
hanging from the ceiling. Someone else’s blood had been dripping on him. He was in shock and
forgot where he was. Sweat started dripping down his face, his chest was moving up and down,
and he did not move a muscle. He had discovered a murder at 4:37am on September 18, 2019.
He was panicking and he was the only person in the building. Arnold starting asking questions
under his breathe, “Should I call the cops, should I call my friends, should I just leave it alone?”
He was pacing around the room. If he called the cops, they might think it was him. If he left right
away, he would leave a trail and they might see that he was the only student at the Dawg House
Arnold is a very innocent kid. He focused on his studies and spent a majority of his time
being involved with extra-curricular activities. He was on the right path to success and had
multiple internships while earning a very high grade point average. Although, on the night of

September 18th, Arnold had made the wrong decision. He decided to leave the body. He ran out
of the Dawg House back to his room and showered right away. He threw away his clothes and
anything that contained blood. He did not want evidence coming back to him and he made sure
of that. His actions did not work in his favor. They found out that he was there the night of the
The head investigator for the case called Arnold: “Hello Arnold, the police department
have the video tapes of you being there the night of the murder. We would like you to come to
the police department immediately for questioning.” Arnold knew this was coming. His right eye
started twitching, his hands were curled up in a ball, and he was preparing on what he was going
Arnold entered the police station and tried to explain what happened. The police
department did not believe him and he had to go to court. In the next week, he was kicked out of
Butler University, denied from his dream law school, as well as getting his job offer at Apple
revoked. All of this could have been different. Arnold could of taken action right away, but he
decided to be a coward and flee the scene. Arnold made an unethical decision that ended up
backfiring and his entire life has been changed for the worst.
Three years later, Arnold had been released from prison. The true murderer had
confessed to the murder that was taken place at the Dawg House. Arnold has missed out on three
years of his life and it will be extremely difficult for him to start over. Arnold could have made
the right decision by telling the police right away. He could of described the story as a freak
accident, but he made the wrong decision. Arnold was extremely upset with the state of Indiana
and decided to move somewhere else. He moved to a ranch house in Texas with an abundance of
land. Arnold needed his free time and time away from people because of what his friends and

family have thought of him for the past few years. Nothing was ever the same for Arnold. One
wrong decision impacted the rest of his life. The innocent and amazing student is now hidden in
