WHEELABRATOR BALTIMORE is a waste-to-energy company that converts your


post-recycled waste to clean, renewable energy for local communities. Our goal is to reduce
community waste and reliance on fossil fuels while creating renewable energy to power your
home, neighborhood, school and business.
 e generate enough energy from residential, commercial and industrial waste to power our facility and more

than 40,292 homes and businesses throughout Maryland. We also divert approximately 693,146 tons of
recyclable waste each year — 2,250 tons per day — that would otherwise go to landfills.
S ince 1985, we have been providing Baltimore with renewable energy from waste and have recycled more
than 11,762 tons of metals of waste annually.
 ur waste-to-energy reduces the state’s reliance on — and environmental impacts of — coal, oil and natural

gas. We reduce Marylanders’ reliance on up to 890,986 barrels of oil and 268,142 tons of coal annually.

For over 34 years, Wheelabrator Baltimore has partnered with community
leaders and businesses to support important causes in Baltimore City. We
Can Bmore, a Wheelabrator Baltimore project, is a public awareness and
engagement campaign investing in waste reduction initiatives and the
individuals, organizations, and institutions that support this important work
in Baltimore City.
