Schools banning cell phones entirely is not a fair solution and would create more problems than it solves. While some students misuse their phones, punishing all students is unfair and locking up all phones every day would be time-consuming and expensive. A better approach is punishing individual students when phones are misused, which would discourage misuse without wasting school resources or unfairly limiting responsible students.

I don’t think cell phones should be banned in school.
It is not fair to the good students
who don’t abuse their phone privileges to have their phones taken away. It would also cost a lot of money for the schools to buy the sacks to hold the phones. Even though the school got a grant, not all schools will. The money would also be better spent on something else. Locking up all the phones will take a lot of time too. This takes away valuable school time for education or cuts into students free time. At Santa Susana, when we were taking our schedules, it took hours for everybody to get theirs with multiple lines. This would happen everyday if schools had to lock up phones. Lockpicking will also be a big issue. As soon as every school has these pouches they will not be secure. Keys can be sold online and lockpicking tutorials are all over the internet. This would leave a bunch of useless bags that wastes schools money. Cell Phones should also be allowed during lunch. If you are like me, you eat if your not doing stuff with with your hands and phones are a great distraction. A better solution would be punishment for misuse of phones. It would be taken away on sight and other students will take notice.
