Pittsburgh, PA 15212

Dear The Earl Knudsen Charitable Foundation:

I am reaching out to you on behalf of Crisis Center North (CCN), a 501(c)(3) non-profit counseling and
educational research center whose mission is to empower victims of domestic violence and cultivate attitudes
and community behaviors that break the cycle of violence. We believe that your mission aligns with ours, and
together, we can achieve great things for individuals impacted by domestic violence in Allegheny County.

Starting with a budget of only $13.78 in 1978, CCN has become a million-dollar-plus organization that has
served over 82,000 victims and survivors of domestic violence living in Allegheny County and the Greater
Pittsburgh region. Our organization offers a wide array of award-winning services for victims, their loved ones
and the community at large. CCN offers a wide-spectrum of services, such as crisis counseling, legal and
medical advocacy, referral services, an economic empowerment service, primary prevention education
programming, community education programming, a volunteer program, relocation services, case
management services, transportation services, a 24/7 emergency hotline, and the nationally-recognized PAWS
FOR EMPOWERMENT program.

CCN has been branded as the innovative victim service provider by the press, and is currently in the process
of program expansion to serve the growing needs of our community. Our recently launched rapid rehousing
program and expanded Mobile Advocacy program are two such examples. Although CCN has made significant
strides within the past four decades, there is still more we would like to accomplish. CCN seeks to continually
grow and expand our operation, ensuring that we can reach more victims of domestic violence in our
community with more resources and, ultimately, save more lives.

We are inviting you, as a potential partner, to join us in achieving our ambitious mission. Whether it is
inviting us for a conversation about our agency, or making a contribution to our work, your support in
helping to end domestic violence would be greatly appreciated. CCN invites you to join us in this
exciting journey as we head toward a brighter, safer future for us all.

Your contribution will help us in providing free, confidential services to victims and their families. If you have
any questions or if you would like additional information, we would be happy to contact you via email or phone.

Together, we can take another decisive step toward ending the cycle of domestic violence within our
community. On behalf of CCN and the survivors we serve, we sincerely thank you for this opportunity. We look
forward to hearing from you soon.
Best Regards,

Jeremy Armstrong, M.Ed.
