I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to my trainers Mr. Sonu Sharma for the
wonderful and meaningful training session. I am also grateful to Mr. Deepak Kumar Goyal (HOD,
Electrical Engineering Dept.) and Mr. Prateek Singhal (Training Head, Electrical Engineering
Dept.) for giving me the golden opportunity of this in-house training on “PLC-SCADA &AutoCAD”
which proves very beneficial for me as it increases my knowledge and give me a idea to control and operate any
system in industries. I am really thankful to them.

Secondly I would also like to thank my parents and friends who helped me a lot in finishing project report within
time.

Thanks again to all who helped me.

ABSTRACT

4
This report covers PLC- SCADA & AutoCAD.

PLC stands for programmable logic controller. It is used as an industrial digital computer for automation
and is used to control the manufacturing and programming of robotic devices. PLCs are used in many different
industries and machines such as packaging and semiconductor machines. Well known PLC brands are Siemens,
Allen-Bradley, ABB, Mitsubishi, Omron, and General Electric. A PLC is an example of a real time system since
output results must be produced in response to input conditions within a bounded time, otherwise unintended
operation will result.

SCADA is widely used in industry for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition of industrial processes;
SCADA systems are now also penetrating the experimental physics laboratories for the controls of ancillary
systems such as cooling, ventilation, power distribution etc.

AutoCAD Electrical is a specialist control panel of Autodesk. The AutoCAD electrical software increases
the productivity levels of up to 80% when compared to the traditional methods of 2-D drafting. The sound
knowledge of the software can enable the electrical engineers to exploit the surplus availability of specially
developed electrical drafting tools to enhance the productivity.
