The products on this list are problematic, for the following reasons:  
 
● They could be incredibly competitive, to the point of saturation, even if they 
match the ASM criteria.  
● They could be patented, which has caused issues with our members, in the past.  
● Issues of hazmat, copyright, and FDA approval can cause major barriers to your 
business.

2. General Product Types to Avoid  
You can be successful selling some of the following types of products, ​however​, we 
urge you to avoid them, due to the added layer of complexity that they present. 
Remember, keep it simple as you’re getting started!  
 
Avoid selling products that have the following characteristics:  
 
● Easily breakable (i.e., glass, etc.)  
● Plugs into electrical supply  
● Contains lithium ion batteries  
● Patented  
● Lots of variations  
● Textiles and clothing  
 
Now that you know what NOT to sell, download the list of products to avoid, print it, and 
keep it somewhere close by—you may use it for reference in the next lesson, where you 
will learn the ASM “Perfect Product Selection System.”
