Third Lunar Quarter Begins at 3:08 P. M. on 23rd.
Full Moon. Decreasing.
Sunday, 23rd.—Moon enters Leo at 9:45 A. M. Sun
2° 58' in Aquarius. Moon in opposition to Sun and
Mercury tends to produce some discordant emotions,
inclining to arrogance, domineering, positive, critical
states which, if expressed, bring up inharmonies. There
fore, be cautous of giving offense or hurting the feel
ings of sensitive people. Be careful in agreements,
promises and correspondence. Quiet recreations rather
than undertaking laborious tasks.
Monday, 24th–Moon 11° 39' in Leo. Fairly good for
ordinary affairs, but not for new or very important busi
ness. Any tendency to be perverse, radical or irrational
should be speedily overcome to permit conditions re
maining normal. A day to adjust oneself to circum
stances rather than upheave conditions.
Tuesday, 25th–Moon enters Virgo at 9:05 A. M. Be
cautious and deliberate in all affairs, as the Moon op
poses Uranus until 3:30 P. M., inclining to premature
decisions and actions. After 3:30 the nature of the
vibrations change and are good for general business
activities, study, reading, lectures, corespondence, visits.
Wednesday, 26th––Moon 11° 39' in Virgo. Aspects of
conflicting quality appear today, good and adverse
alternating. From 5:28 A. M. to 0:39 P. M. Moon op
poses Mars, but between 0:38 and 2:36 P. M. Moon is
conjunction Jupiter, which is good if moderation is
exercised in eating and care to avoid other excesses
or extravagance. After 2: 36 P. M. is somewhat lower
ing to vitality, morals and mental status, tending to
depression, sorrow, discontent, and inharmony with Op
posite sex. A period for relaxation and quiet recreation
rather than concentration on business or personal af
fairs. If distressful thoughts insist upon intruding, use

Moon in Last Quarter. Decreasing. Dark.
Tuesday, 1st—Moon enters Sagittarius at 2:04
A. M. Pacific time, which is 3:04 Rocky Mountain, 4:04
Central, 5:04 A. M. Eastern time. The time quoted in
this chapter is Pacific time. Readers living east of the
Pacific Coast should change their times accordingly.
Adverse aspects prevail until 3:42 P. M. Avoid sud
den changes of plans and do not embark on risky ven
tures, voyages or journeys. Be careful in correspond
ence, contracts or agreements, cautious with vehicles,
explosives, liquids, oils, chemicals or gas. Not good
for psychical experiments. Unless mental poise and
deliberate actions are maintained, high tension, worry,
misunderstandings and premature conditions will re
sult from the combined influences. After 3:42 P. M.

inal, inventions, research and adventure. Avoid ex
tremes or over-enthusiasm; use caution in motoring or
in using explosives, gas, or liquids. Favors dreams and
intuitive impressions. Deal with professional people.
Wednesday, 9th–Moon 6° 32' in Pisces. Fairly good
for business of ordinary importance, correspondence,
domestic affairs, amusements, or matters of land, plant
ing, trimming, etc. Read, study, practice art, music,
games. Good for social affairs in evening, but be mod
erate in eating.
Thursday, 10th–Moon 18° 45' in Pisces. Several ad
verse aspects prevail which tend to sensations of irrita
tion, fear, depression, hopelessness, regret, discontent
"and complaint, but dont' allow these to manifest as such
—transmute the forces, refine them; look up, not down;
look ahead, not back. Cheer yourself up and others,
too, somehow, but do it. Don't let Saturn (Satan) cool
your ardor, nor let Mars mar your disposition. Win
the great conquest over self and you’ll find it was not
such a bad day after all. However, don't tempt fate
by beginning new business or undertaking risky ven
tures. This is a day to be conservative, not aggressive;
to reserve, not expend. A child conceived on this day
will meet with many misfortunes.
Friday, 11th–Moon enters Aries at 1:51 A. M. With
due regard for the proprieties and conventionalities in
business and social matters, by acting and speaking in
as refined a manner as possible, by being gentle in the
approach of every situation, one may be enabled to pro
ceed without the difficulties which might otherwise
ensue as the result of some mixed aspects Operating
today. The best, part of day is after 4: 50 P. M., thence
good for dealings with ladies, artists, musicians, tailors,
psychics, writers, publishers, teachers; also excellent
for social functions. Give treatments by music and
colors. A child born on this day will be very artistic
and mediumistic.

According to Astrology
METABOLISM
Webster’s Dictionary: “Metabolism—The act or
process by which living tissues or cells take up and
convert into their own proper substance the nutritive
material brought to them by the blood, or by which
they transform their cell protoplasm into simpler sub
stances, which are fitted either for excretion or for
Some Special purpose, as in the manufacture of the
digestive ferments. Hence, metabolism may be either
constructive (anabolism) or destructive (katabolism).”
In Astrology metabolism or bodily processes are un
derstood to receive their direction from planetary vibra
tions, the influence of some planets and aspects being
constructive and others destructive, both operations
being necessary to well-being. The benign planets direct
anabolism, or constructive process; the malign planets
and aspects affecting katabolism, or destructive process.
For instance, Saturn is commonly symbolized as the
“Reaper”—an old man bearing a scythe-usually thought
to indicate death, but in reality signifying the demise,
decay and dissolution of old worn-out tissue which must
be excreted. In this we see that the office of Saturn is
just as beneficial as that of any planet; without the
influence of Saturn the human system would soon be
come congested with non-functioning matter.

PLANETARY METEOROLOGY
Lincoln, Calif, Nov. 18, 1920, (7 P.M.)
Editor Llewellyn George.
Dear Friend: We gladly answer your query of the
12th inst., as to “length and severity” of the winter be
ginning for the benefit of Bulletinsa readers in general.
We append the following long range forecast of the
weather in a general way from date, to March, 1921, as
affecting this coast, all based upon our past experience
and study of “Astro Meteorology.”
During the past summer and fall months, we gave out
here from time to time warnings, of a winter coming
THAT WOULD ECLIPSE ALL OF THE PAST SIX, due
to the approaching equinoxial transits of both Jupiter
and Saturn. That the chief disturbances would not be
gin until after the close of a Mars-period. That latter
period would differ from that of last December and
January, in that it would not be so dry. Latter fore
cast remarkably fulfilled in that this section was visited
by a number of very heavy thunder-storms, a decided
Jupiter influence, in evidence always while the latter is
moving to the equinoxial point.
igºgº
same centering on the 11th inst., since then the meteoro
logical conditions have become denser with the work
ing up of the next storm due to a sesquiquadrature of
the Sun's transit with the position of Jupiter, as we
write these lines latter disturbance is causing a torren
tial downpour all over northern California. As the sea
son advances most all strong aspects of the Moon with
Jupiter, or Saturn, will be sufficient to cause showers
between storm periods. We stated previously here that
after the fall election, showers between storms would

AN ANSWER TO MRS. W. H. V.
So far as I am aware there is no particular or Set
standard of ethical rules pertaining among Astrologers
more than among those of any other of the educational

According to Astrology
By Llewellyn George

The
evening is very good for study, correspondence, visits
ASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA Page 7
and pleasure.
Sunday, 13th–Moon 6° 24' in Taurus. Sun 22° 23'
in Pisces. The aspects are somewhat adverse until
after 1.35 p. m. tending to peculiar conditions, strange
or unaccountable feelings, unfavorable for health or
poise unless effort is made to overcome.
After 1.35 the conditions change and grow better as
night approaches. Very good for religious or educa
tional matters and for healing treatments of any
method.
Monday, 14th–Moon enters Gemini at 10.26 p. m.
Excellent planetary vibrations exist throughout the
morning, particularly until 11.13 a. m. (Pacific time).
Good for attending to matters regarding property,
mines, machinery, or business interests. Deal with man
agers in those in executive positions.
The afternoon is not quite so good; some tendency to
anxiety, or misunderstanding. Be cautious in corre
spondence or agreements.
Tuesday, 15th–Moon 3° 07' in Gemini. A doubtful
day. Aspects occur alternately good and adverse. Moon
is adverse with Uranus, Mars and Jupiter, inclining to
haste, force and misjudgment. Moon is favorable with
Venus and Neptune which is somewhat beneficial to the
more refined attributes of life, the gentler occupations,
the less strenuous efforts. This is a day when “Watch
your step” means something.
tºº
forethought and persistency.
After 7 p. m. a change occurs which is slightly ad
verse for the foregoing and tends somewhat to excessive
mental activity, which in turn requires self-control.
Friday, 25th–Moon enters Scorpio at 11.35 a. m. The
predominating vibratory influence of today is martial in
nature—Mars in its disruptive or malignant manifesta
tion, tending to irritability, controversy, positivity or
beligerent attitudes. Mars, when opposed, as it is today,
tends to manifest as heat, feverish states, fiery expres
sions, hence a great deal of self-restraint needs to be
exercised to avoid friction with others, over-exertion,
strife within, and care should be taken of the health
through care of the stomach. Aim to keep off of high
tension, haste and worry and thus transmute the force
of Mars to courage and strength. Those who do not

pects of today incline to physical and mental activity
and a great deal of useful work may be performed if
one will avoid haste. However, there may be some
tendency to misjudgment during the afternoon, especi
ally before 4.34 p. m., hence caution should be exercised
in all business matters and heavy liabilities avoided.
After 4.34 judgment and feelings will be better. An
excellent evening for home study, social visits, or
psychic investigation.

made to overthrow any tendency to depression or anx

disturbances within by its katabolistic action in the

mind incorrectly manifests as worry, etc., knowing this,
you can reason to insist on overcoming the mental an

Tuesday, 12th–Moon 13° 41' in Gemini. Moon is ad

unfavorable for important matters, especially those
which require quick execution, as this aspect is retard

ONDON, Jan. 10.—A warning is issued by Dr. An
drew Crommelin, an eminent astronomer, assistant
at Greenwich Observatory, of the danger to the earth
from a comet next June. This comet's orbit is being
pushed nearer the earth in each of its appearances, due
to the influence of Jupiter. It makes an appearance
every 5893 years, and its pathway extends from about
the sun's ecliptic orbit to a point where Jupiter per
forms its revolutions.
Astronomers are expecting its appearance in July
this year, but Prof. Crommelin says June. It is now

Proper authorization has been received from the
Astrological Society, Inc., N. Y., to start a branch at

we are ready to begin. These meetings will most likely
be held once each week and be in the form of class
work. The class will be taken through a course of
horoscope making and reading, covering a period of
about six months, after which a new class will be
formed for beginners, while a post graduate class will
be conducted for the benefit of those of the former
class who wish higher instruction.

It is because some places have influences that coin

ZODIAC INFLUENCE.
PLANETARY INFLUENCES.
John Gadbury, author of “The Doctrine of Nativities,”
1658, in chapter VIII says: “I shall not here take no
tice of any poetical fictions concerning the names of the
seven planets or their governments and rules, such as
Saturn's reigning in the Golden Age, when the Earth
brought forth without tillage, etc., or of Jupiter being
the son of Saturn, who, because his father would have
devoured him, expelled him from his kingdom and gave
rule of hell to Pluto, rule of water to Neptune (Posi.
don), and took Heaven and Earth to himself; or how
that Mars was produced of Juno without the concourse
of royal Jupiter, and so, being the son of Discontent,
was called the God of War; of Venus being the Goddess
of Love and Beauty; Mercury the God of Eloquence and
messenger in chief to all the other gods. I say that 1
shall not take notice of such, they being but witty in
ventions of aspiring pates, and carry a far greater glow
of rhetoric than reason in them. Therefore, neglecting
fictitious flourishes, I shall present you with the true
qualities, natures, significations, shapes and description
of the seven planets as by experience and certain ob
servations they have been found and so transmitted to
us by the best artists.”
And looking forward 250 years to our present time it
seems ridiculous that in many of our public schools the
time and energy of children is wasted on lessons in
mythology simply to familiarize them with so-called
“classic literature,” although a study of such in the
light of understanding of Astrology would reveal a great
deal of wisdom otherwise totally obscure.

NAMING CHILDREN.
Prospective parents should have a name ready to give
their new born and the name should be spoken to the
child as it breathes in its first breath.
Any formal function connected afterward with the
naming, such as christening, should be performed on a
day carefully selected for its favorable planetary as
pects and the ceremony conducted in a beneficent plan
etary hour.
As Sex can be predetermined by Astrology, there is
no diffculty in choosing an appropriate name in advance
of birth. When it is desired to give a family name to
the child, sentimental reasons should be ignored and
one chosen from a person who possesses very excellent
qualities, such as good health, a happy, kind disposi
tion, brilliant intellect, etc.
Each letter of the alphabet has its own quality and
in a word selected should be a fortunate figure, in nu
merical value and this should also be considered when
choosing a name. The sum total of the letters in accord
ance with the science of numbers.

PLANETARY METEOROLOGY
Editor Llewellyn George—
Dear Friend:—As promised previously we are en
closing another “Meteorological Forecast,” prepared
in a long range way for six months or so into the fu
ture.
Our last endeavor in this line proved, we know, of
much interest to your many readers, especially men
tion of storm for last of January, which will be “long
remembered” at many points along the Pacific Coast.
Our mention of disturbance ranging around the 12th
of March—Sun Opposition Saturn—has just passed,
producing one of the heaviest deluges we have had
in this section, Saturday evening and late Sunday af
ternoon. This affect was felt at Los Angeles, to be
gin then sweeping up this way eventually, proving Our
contention that Saturn, on the equinox influences
storm development far south on this coast.
KGººgººd
Following the 12th, as forecasted here, a disturb
ance to follow for the 17th, 18th, 19th. On the even
ing of the 17th, the day we begin these notes, a de
cided shower of rain fell.

THE POLARITIES.
Blending the influence of the Sun in Taurus and the
Moon in Capricorn, representing his individual and
personal characteristics, it may be judged that he has
a very positive, determined and independent nature, with
ability to turn the mind to general principles, business,
music or art. He has a great love of wealth and
grandeur, and will desire to obtain position and honor;
he will reason and plan well, have excellent ability for
organizing. He can, and should be aided to develop,
will power and self control necessary to be fortified
against disappointment. It is possible for him to re
main calm under exciting circumstances and he is
more fitted for public than private life.
MOON IN CAPRICORN
This may bring in contact with the public
him
where he will meet both popularity and opposition. He
will meet people who travel much or lead bohemian
lives. Long voyages would be dangerous and should
not be undertaken except under the best of aspects for
travel. Marriage would best be avoided, especially at
an early age.
TRAVEL
Mars and Neptune in the third house of this chart
is not good for travel, inclining to accidents or trials
and extraordinary experiences while travelling. In a
general sense Mars causes the mind to be very hasty
and impulsive. This influence also denotes trouble or
annoyance and disputes with brethren or relatives;

From this chart it appears that self-control is the
keynote of what this child should be taught; it is the
supreme lesson that he should learn if he would be

NATURE.
Are railroad accidents subject to a periodic law? A
few years ago they became so common that it was
highly dangerous to enter a train. Then there was an
interval Of comparative safety and now we hear of acci
dents everywhere once more. What Mendelexieff will
reveal to us the law which governs these recurrent
calamities and thus make possible a remedy?—The

All events that transpire are the effect of Natural
Law. The causes proceed from planetary influences of
which Astrology is the interpreter, and a proper study
of this science will do much to reveal the workings of
the causes to the extent that in the course of time, as
the human family develops its latent powers, the effects
will be diverted from destruction to construction, igno
rant subjection will become intelligent direction. Astrol
ogy points the way. -

REVOLUTIONS.
The annual revolution is based upon a chart made
for the exact time that the Sun in ephemeris for cur
rent year returns to identically the same degree and
minute of longitude it occupied at birth. The testi
monies by position and aspects of planets among
themselves in such a chart, as well as their relation
or aspects to radical planets, etc., indicate the gen
eral conditions for the year to follow.
The lunar revolution, as above, is based upon the
Moon's return to its exact radical place monthly.
The daily revolution is based upon the time of the
radical ascending sign and degree returning to be the
ascendant and the testimonies thereof indicate the
general trend of affairs for the following twenty-four
hours. All such testimonies as those derived from
these three charts must coincide with indications in
the nativity, otherwise they must be rejected or ig
nored, for nothing must be predicted from them that
is not promised by evidence in the nativity.
PROFECTION.
A TRUE FANTASY.
Observers of the starry realm are often brought to
think that the heavenly orbs are working stupendous
schemes which sometimes unite them to produce a
common end or casts them into seeming conflict, while
at other times they appear in playful, tricky moods to
the delight of onlookers.
Only last night (April 14, 1911) while spying on these
“sparks of the sky” and listening with ear clairaudient,
I heard Jupiter speak in tones meant to be gentle and
loving, yet really with the roar of thunder: “Oh, beau
tiful Luna, it is indeed with joy that I again behold

“A most delightful pastime, oh mighty Jupiter, and
I join with glee.”
And then was heard the sweet music of the spheres,
the atmosphere began to expand, the air grew heavier
and heavier with moisture until, overburdened, it gent
ly spread it upon the earth and sprayed the surface
generously, not as rain, but exquisite dew.

and smile, and then he smiled again. “How well they
have each performed their work,” he beamed, “and
to make it all the more beneficent I will embue it with
life.” And straightway the frost began to move and
change and descend down into the ground where
eager worms and little bugs drank their fill, while
flowers and trees partook their share and all proceed
ed to manifest their thanks in their own various ways,
for it was Spring and all was well.
LIGHT PHILOSOPHY.
ASTROLOGICAL FRAGMENTS.
By Her Royal Highness Princess Olive of Cumberland.
Fragment the First.
juced, then, must that man be, and how crude that
understanding, which condemns a science in which
the wisest and greatest king on earth, even Solomon,
delighted. Of all studies occult philosophy requires
the most temperate and industrious habits of life,
for not an hour passes that does not produce some in
terersting variation in the heavens, and some con
sequent changes on the earth. But to pursue the mo
tions of the planets with effect a philosopher must
let no opportunity escape him of observation and
improvement.
Comets, too, have been seen to be forerunners some
times of especial good, but more frequently of ex
cessive evil. Thus a comet or blazing star may be pre
sumed to have guided the magi, or wise men of the east,
to Bethlehem, as recorded with solemnity in the New
Testament. The downfall of many states has been
foreshown by prodigious sights seen in the air. Jerus
alem, Egypt, Rome and many other regions, declare as
much, and indeed all strange and unusual apparitions
of this nature are generally followed by direful effects,
DESTINY.
“There is a destinythat shapes our ends
Rough hew them as we will.”—Selected.

et became generally visible in the old world the bubon
ic plague, known of old as the “black death,” broke out
in Egypt. In the city of Alexandria alone 9,000 people
died in one day. By the Moslems this calamity was
generally attributed to the evil influence of the comet.
In America the comet became visible to the naked
eye only late in the year. Then, on its approach to
the sun, it was lost to view and passed over to the
southern hemisphere, where is was next observed by
Sir John Herschel in South Africa.
Shortly after its brief blaze over North America the
great “New York fire” laid waste the entire business
section of the biggest city in the new world. All the
commercial centers of the city, including the richest
firms and largest commercial warehouses, were laid in
ashes. The fire raged through days and nights. In all,
530 houses burned down and $18,000,000 of property was
consumed. Owing to the intense cold, the sufferings of
the homeless were pitiable.
In Florida, at the same time, Osceola, the chieftain
of the Seminole Indians, called upon the comet as a
signal for war against the whites. The Indians called
the comet “Big Knife in the Sky.”
The war began with a bloody massacre of American
soldiers under General Wiley Thompson at Fort King.
All were slaughtered. Osceola scalped General Thomp
son with his own hands. On the same day Major Dade

John Dryden calculated his son Charles’ horoscope, and
the predictions were filled to the letter. Mr. Congreve

her son Charles, Dryden left his watch in charge of one

the dogs, made a bold push and leaped over the court
wall, which was low and very old, and the dogs, follow
ing, threw down a part of the wall ten yards in length,
under which Charles Dryden lay buried. He was imme
diately dug out, and after six weeks’ languislfing in a
dangerous way, he recovered. In the 23rd year of his
age Charles fell from the top of an old tower belonging
to the Vatican at Rome, occasioned by a dizziness with
which he was seized, the heat of the day being exces
sive. He again recovered, but was ever after in a lan
guishing, sickly state. In the 33rd year of his age, be
ing returned to England, he was unhappily drowned at
Windsor. He had, with another gentleman, swam twice
across the Thames, but returning a third time, it was
supposed he was taken with a cramp, because he called
out for help, though too late. The father's calculation
proved but too prophetical.”

FATE.
Two shall be born, the whole wide world apart,
And speak in different tongues and have no thought
Each of the other’s being and have no heed;
And these o'er unknown seas to unknown lands
Shall cross, escaping wreck, defying death,
And all unconsciously shape every act,
And bend each wandering step to this one end—
That one day out of darkness they shall meet
And read life’s meaning in each other's eyes.
Kºčº
And two shall walk some narrow way of life
So nearly side by side that, should one turn
Ever so little space to right or left,
They needs must stand acknowledged face to face,
And yet with wistful eyes they never meet,
. With groping hands that never clasp, and lips
Calling in vain to ears that never hear,
They seek each other all their weary days
And die unsatisfied—and this is fate.
—Susan Marr Spalding.

READ THIS ONE
Dear Mr. George:–
I wish to write a few lines in praise of the “Aries”
Cell Foods, of which I bought a box from you last
December.
Before trying this remedy I had great deal of bother
With blood going to my head, and causing deal of un
pleasant feeling therein.
I could not read scarcely at all at night, and sleep
well afterward: nor even think on any particular sub
ject seriously without this awful fullness and dis
agreeable feeling in my head.
In fact, it became so I could feel it near all the time,
and it seemed to be increasing as time went on ; and
I did not know what I could do to eliminate it.
I have great deal of power of the mind over my ail
ments, but when I try to use the mind on the head, it
Was a difficult task to make Successful.
But I had the faith in the higher forces that in some
Way, and at some time something would come along
that would remove this disagreeable and dangerous con
dition; which did come when I found your “Cell
Foods” and tried Aries, No. 1, for only a few days or
weeks.
Before I had used more than one half of a box, this
complaint above mentioned was almost, or altogether
eliminated, and I do not feel that affliction at all now.
And besides removing that complaint, it has made
me feel better in many other ways. Though I was
quite well anyway with the exception of the head
trouble.
I would recommend this remedy to any one that has
trouble of this kind or similar complaints. It cannot
injure you if you take much or little. t

After 3: 53 P. M. is better for all ordinary affairs.

of these benign vibrations. -

After 10:12 A. M., and until 5:44 P. M., four adverse
aspects dominate the period, during which avoid haste,

Be careful of fires and accidents. Recreate. Rest.

something God had imposed upon them, they acted out
their beliefs. They had no vision, and “Where there

A large number of replies was received and the ex

bi-monthly in order to have the advantage of longer
advance time to consult the daily indications and be
enabled to choose suitable dates beforehand for acting
upon important matters at auspicious times, according
to Astrology.
We complied with the choice of subscribers and
throughout 1921 issued the “Bulletina” every TWO
