Overview:
A business model generally describes how your business works and how an organization creates, delivers
and captures value to customers. The process of business model construction and modification is also called
business model innovation and forms a part of business strategy. In theory and general practice, the term
“business model” is well defined and used for a broad range of informal and formal descriptions to represent
core aspects of a business, including purpose, process, target customers, offerings, strategies, infrastructure,
organizational structures, sourcing and trading practice and operational processes and policies.
Purpose:
The primary purpose for the competition is to provide students with an immense idea of the fundamentals of
Arbitration and Commercial Laws. This competition is organized in such a format that the students can
connect to the process by enhancing their knowledge and skills in different stages of the competition as
client.
It provides an opportunity for the students to showcase one’s creativity through the creation of their business
models.
Rounds for the Selection:
1. As a Team:
Each team should consist of 10 students and prepare one Business Model Draft (BMD). The topic shall be
given by LAAC Organizing Committee. Selected fields of commercial transactions will be listed and
informed via mail to registered teams personally. There will be no selection on the basis of one team’s
performance. It is a process to review and re-organize the learning process and is an opportunity to perform
well in the selection round for LAAC.
2. As an Individual:
After the review process of one team’s BMD, the next step is to register individually for the LAAC
selection round. Selected fields of commercial transactions will be listed and informed via mail to registered
students personally. The selected students along with their models will explore the arbitration process and
procedure throughout the competition.
It is a joint and several duty of the team and its members, that Business Models should not be copied
among the contesting teams at all as a whole or in parts, if found so, it will be a serious violation of
rules and subject matter of plagiarism, academic indiscipline and breach of law.
The originator of the material if allowed copying by not taking genuine safekeeping measures, is a
proven guilty, similarly, a person lifting the material without proof, authenticity and mentioning the
source, presenting any work as his own, is a proven guilty.
In these cases, how so ever these may be, shall be dealt stringently, so the proven guilty person(s)
shall be barred from appearing in the ‘Final Selection Rounds’.
Submission Format:
The submission shall be in the MS WORD format only. Business Models in any other format shall
either be returned or subject to revision of format or unacceptable.
The maximum word limit for one Business Model can be at the most 1500-2000 (words) words
below and above this limit shall invite marks deduction.
Soft Copy Submission:
Soft copy of the BMD (as per the format mentioned below) must be sent as an e-mail attachment to
ladrc@lloydlawcollege.edu.in strictly as per scheduled time and date announced and mentioned.
Only one of the team members on behalf of team may send the same.
The subject of the mail should be “Submission of BMD” along with each team’s respective team
code.
Delay of each-day in mailing the BMD will invite deduction of 0.5 marks of the team and individual.
Please check your sent mail item for the mail delivery confirmation; LADR shall not be liable for the
bounced or undelivered mail.
Once the soft copy of the BMD has been submitted as per schedule, no revisions, additions or
formatting will be allowed at the time of hard copy submissions. If found so, there shall be a penalty
on each page moderations, applicable to text and footnote both.
We will not take into account any crashing of hard drive, loss of data, loss of gadgets etc. as a
ground of extension of time or delayed submission or concession of time etc. even procuring and
producing credible evidences will not bend the rule for any one or for all.
Submission Guideline:
The BMD should be typed on A-4 sheet with black ink.
The font of the body of the BMD should be Times New Roman Size – 12, spacing 1.5.
The BMD must have 1 inch margin on all sides of the each page.
