43
PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

The problems that we have encountered during our On-The-Job Training

(OJT) at Dean’s office of the College of Arts and Sciences, NORSU Bais
campus I was:

1. Lack of Needed Materials. We cannot continue our tasks at the

moment because of the lack of needed materials such as: Printer Ink,
Documents and etc. Because it’s hard for us to produce a hardcopy when
there is no ink in the printer and also in producing new documents.

2. Finding losses Documents. It’s hard for us to restore the losses

documents since we didn’t really know where it was placed and there is no
label or anything that is noted to find it easier.

3. When there is no response from concerned Personnel. It is also

our problem when there is no response from the concerned personnel when
we needed their immediate responses regarding to the important
information that we wanted to get from them for the accreditation.

44
SUMMARY

The Dean’s Office of the College of Arts and Sciences is where we were
assigned to have our summer On-the-Job Training (OJT). In our first day of the
training, we were so excited because we would experience the actual Job in a
particular workplace that will prepare and motivate us on how to be responsible,
effective and productive in the near future specially in the real world of work.

As we entered in the office, our beautiful Dean of College of Arts and

Sciences Dr. Ann Concordia F. Mier who was our Chief/Leader of the office oriented
us the policies on what are the DOs and DON’Ts in the office. She assigned us by
groups for the preparation for the upcoming accreditation.

Our first week of On-The-Job Training (OJT) on the office was pleasantly
succeeded by doing our various tasks on assigned Areas. We did our
responsibilities as a Trainee; we helped and assist our leaders in each Area. We
encoded, scanned, assisted, checked, find, and arranged according to the needs
of the Area or in the Office. We made things possible as we enhanced our capability
in service. Although, sometimes our task is not highly related to our courses, we
adapted to it since it is more effective in facing the big battles in life in the near
future. In fact, it is just a training or preparation for our future and what our
journey will bring us.

As we go through, our OJT in the CAS office was beneficial. We enjoyed the
moment when we were together with our co-intern, faculty as well as our Dean
of College of Arts and Sciences. We learned that this is a kind of life we have for,
when we are in the field of work.

45
We have to be prepared and take it seriously because life is not easy. Our
co-intern and faculty have become our inspiration as well as our family, whom
made us more active and dedicated to our work. Apparently, God has become the
center of all of this because He is the owner of everything we had.

Indeed, during our On-The-Job training we really learned and develop a lot
not just academically but also socially as well as spiritually as we encountered
different personality. We can say that it is not just skills and knowledge that was
developed during our OJT but as well as our personality as a student. We learned
how to adjust and handle everything which makes us stronger and more
responsible as we become professionals someday.

46
CONCLUSION

Everything is possible when you have courage in life. Learning and

developing skills are the keys to reach out the goals you are dreaming for.
Hardworking together with discipline and commitment are the best assets to be a
good achiever in life. As we believed “Obstacles of a weak man is a stepping stone
of a strong man”.

Actual work experience is the best leaning tool that nothing can beat. All
aspects in life could be develop not only academically but also the personality of a
person. On-The-Job Training gives us the opportunity to apply what we have
learned, develop our skills and discover new knowledge. It made us better.

47
RECOMMENDATION

College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s office in NORSU Bais campus is the best
workplace that molds you to be a good and responsible citizen. It helps you to
