The single-phase double conversion UPS (VFI-SS 111) is designed for use as a floor-standing enclosure and for 482.6 mm
(19˝) installation. A display which may be rotated through 90˚ ensures optimum operation in both installation positions. As well

Monitoring of UPS and Static Transfer Switch (STS) Web functionality

The monitoring and management software can be used to
manage all active components and power from RimatriX5.
One interface for all single and 3-phase UPSs and for the
Static Transfer Switch characterise an integrated operating
concept. If an emergency generating unit is being used, it is
also possible to monitor it with the SNMP adaptor.
The integrated web interface shows all relevant information
for the UPS or the STS at a glance. The integrated NTP client

19˝ sub-distributor
Modular compact system with distribution!
The sub-distributor is mounted directly in the UPS enclosure.
This allows a compact complete system to be realised with a
0.6 m2 footprint that contains rack-mounted modular UPS,
batteries and distribution.
The distributor is installed in the rear area of the enclosure
where the PSM busbars (installed in the racks) are attached
directly to the cables using plug connectors. Twelve three-
phase outlets are available on the distributor, this means a
maximum of twelve racks can be supplied. In addition, 10 A
circuit-breakers are integrated for each phase. These
components are optimally adapted to the 12 and 20 kW
N+1 UPS systems.

Static Transfer Switch (STS)

The use of a static transfer switch allows “single-corded
devices” (devices that have only one power pack) to be
operated with a redundant power supply. STS has two
infeeds that are switched automatically. The switching
time is less than 5 ms. This ensures that sensitive devices
can be operated without interference. The “Break before
Make” transfer ensures that the load is not fed concurrently
from two sources.

 Operation
The operating panel mounted on the housing front shows all
central functions and messages of the Static Transfer Switch.
All messages may also be evaluated with floating contacts.
The STS may optionally be supplemented with a quick-
change frame equipped with an external bypass. This
function allows the load to be switched manually onto the
mains for servicing purposes.

The Rittal IP monitoring solution supports extensive visual and alarm-

controlled monitoring. Unlike standard analog video monitoring solutions,
this digital video system offers a more extensive range of additional benefits.
Rittal IP cams may be integrated into any IP existing network. Separate
structured cabling, as required in analog systems, is not necessary. This
considerably reduces the costs associated with deploying.

The Rittal video monitoring system is modular and is able to grow dynamically
along with your requirements or data centre.

One IP-Cam is sufficient for a basic system. This is easily configured and operated
via the integral Web interface.
If the data needs to be backed up e.g. for evidence purposes, the free Rittal
software RiWatchIT “Video Edition”, designed exclusively for Rittal IP-Cams,

A combination of video monitoring with the CMC-TC enclosure monitoring system

Fire prevention
and extinguisher system

Rack extinguisher system DET-AC Plus, 1 U

early fire detection

This compact rack extinguisher system DET-AC Plus (Detection Active Plus)
is designed for use in the Rittal IT rack, fitted in the 482.6 mm (19˝) level. The
system is equipped with a 2-stage smoke analysis extractor system.

The eco-friendly, non-toxic Novec1) 1230 is used as the extinguisher gas, which
means that this extinguisher system is suitable for universal use. Sensitive
hardware such as servers, storage and switches are not impaired by the
extinguisher medium.

Due to the extremely sensitive detection of smoke, even in racks with a high level
of climate control (airflow speed), this ensures that there is plenty of time to
forward an alarm message.

In order to ensure that proper functioning of the system is maintained even in

the event of a power failure, an emergency back-up power supply with a stored
energy time of 4 hours is integrated into the system. The system can also be
supplied purely as an early fire detection system without the extinguisher.

In conjunction with the configuration software RiGetIT,

the IT room, each individual rack plus UPS, power and
cooling systems are graphically displayed, together
with the monitoring functions. Using the information
forwarded, the RiWatchIT V2.1 software generates the
basis for monitoring visualisation.

RiWatchIT – Effective monitoring

& remote management
RiWatchIT, the monitoring software for RimatriX5, operates in
conjunction with RiGetIT. RiGetIT supplies a graphical repre-
sentation of the IT room with monitoring function data inte-
grated into the individual rack/UPS/power/cooling systems.
The RiWatchIT software uses this information to generate a
graphical representation of the room with allocated alarm
messages as the basis for monitoring visualisation. Any
