RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

This chapter is primarily concerned with the presentation, analysis of data and

interpretation of findings regarding the COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH WRITING SKILLS AMONG GRADE 11

STUDENTS.

The findings were presented in a series of figures and tables according to the statement

of the problem.

Table 2

Table 2 represents Linguistic Skills of Grade 11 Students in Collaborative

Research Writing. According to the overall weighted mean, the linguistic skills of the Grade 11

students is satisfactory”. The highest weighted means of 3.6 with same satisfactory descriptive

value among the indicators is 2) Compose sentences in the background of the study that use

styles, structures, and vocabulary that are appropriate for the standards of academic research

writing. The lowest weighted mean of 2.9 with the same satisfactory descriptive value among the

indicators is 4) write a grammatically accurate and concise research title.

Table 3 represents Comprehension skills of Grade 11 Students in Collaborative Research

Writing. The Comprehension skills of the Grade students is satisfactory as indicated by overall

weighted mean of 3.075. The highest weighted mean of 3.38 with the same satisfactory

descriptive value among the indicators is 7) Use inferential level of comprehension in drawing

accurately the conclusions based on his / her research findings. The lowest weighted mean of

2.89 with the same satisfactory descriptive value among the indicators is 6) Use interpretative
level of comprehension in order to signify the findings and conclusions in other studies to his /

her study’s own findings and conclusions.

Table 4 represents Reading Skills of Grade 11 Students in Collaborative Research Writing.

The Reading skills of the Grade students is satisfactory as indicated by overall weighted mean of

3.28. The highest weighted mean of 3.38 with the same satisfactory descriptive value among

the indicators is 1) Select related literature and studies that signify to the concerns of their

research which presupposes the student’s skill for skimming materials. The lowest weighted

mean of 3.18 with the same satisfactory descriptive value among the indicators is 2) Properly

choose the list of concepts and theories to discuss under “Related Literature” which presupposes

the student’s skill for scanning materials.

Table 5 represents Writing skills of Grade 11 Students in Collaborative Research Writing.

The Writing skills of the Grade students is satisfactory as indicated by overall weighted mean of

3.08. The highest weighted mean of 3.09 with the same satisfactory descriptive value among

the indicators is 1) Compose a précise from the student’s own digest and synthesis of a literature

or study that he / she has read. . The lowest weighted mean of 3.07 with the same satisfactory

descriptive value among the indicators is 2) Compose their rendition of essential information by

crediting their source in the study.
