MANGALURU: Pursuant to union home and railway ministries renewing

pact to transport central armed police force (CAPF) personnel heading
home on holidays or on official duty, Central Industrial Security Force
(CISF) personnel of Monday boarded the Mangaluru-Jammu Tawi Navyug
Express at Mangaluru Central railway station. A three-tier AC coach is
exclusively reserved for CAPF personnel on this train for the entire
duration of the journey.

Ashutosh Gaur, deputy commandant (DC), CISF, New Mangalore Port Trust
unit who flagged off the train said home ministry has made this facility
available for personnel of CISF, Assam Rifles, Central Reserve Police
Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Security Guards and Sashastra Seema
Bal (SSB). It will help them with their travel on leave, for official duty with comfort, he noted.

Most of the personnel serving in these forces are not able to plan their journey in advance due to the nature of their work, he
said. With this bogie off-limits for the general public, Ashuthosh said it will also help personnel travelling on duty to maintain
confidentiality of their nature of travel and go in peace with their family if availing personal time. They may board or disembark
at any of the stations enroute from source to destination railway station, he said.
