ِ ‫ض ﻣﺜَﻞ ﻧُﻮِرِﻩ َﻛ ِﻤ ْﺸ َﻜ ٍﺎة ﻓِﻴﻬﺎ ِﻣﺼﺒ‬ ِ


‫ﺎح‬
ُ َ‫ﺼﺒ‬ ْ ‫ﺎح اﻟْﻤ‬ ٌ َْ َ ِ
ُ َ ‫ﺴ َﻤ َﺎوات َو ْاﻷ َْر‬ ‫ﻮر اﻟ‬ ُ ُ‫ﻪُ ﻧ‬‫اﻟﻠ‬

‫ﻮر َﻋﻠَﻰ‬ ٌ ُ‫ﺎد َزﻳْـﺘُـ َﻬﺎ ﻳُﻀﻲءُ َوﻟَ ْﻮ َﱂْ ﲤَْ َﺴ ْﺴﻪُ ﻧَ ٌﺎر ﻧ‬ ُ ‫ﺔ ﻳَ َﻜ‬‫ﺔ َوَﻻ َﻏ ْﺮﺑِﻴ‬‫َﺷ ْﺮﻗﻴ‬
‫ﻞ‬ ‫ﻪُ ﺑِ ُﻜ‬‫ﺎس َواﻟﻠ‬ ِ ‫ﺎل ﻟِﻠﻨ‬ َ َ‫ﻪُ ْاﻷ َْﻣﺜ‬‫ب اﻟﻠ‬
ُ ‫ﻀ ِﺮ‬ْ َ‫ﻪُ ﻟِﻨُﻮِرﻩِ َﻣ ْﻦ ﻳَ َﺸﺎءُ َوﻳ‬‫ﻧُﻮٍر ﻳَـ ْﻬ ِﺪي اﻟﻠ‬
‫ﻴﻢ‬ِ ٍ
ٌ ‫َﺷ ْﻲء َﻋﻠ‬
"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there
were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were
a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west,
whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light!
Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for
mankind: and Allah, over all things, is omniscient. "
Surah An-Nuur (24), verse 35.

May Allah Perfect us with the Light

‫ﻞ َﺷ ْﻲ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪ ٌﻳﺮ‬ ‫ﻚ َﻋﻠَﻰ ُﻛ‬ ِ


َ ‫ﻨَﺎ أ َْﲤِ ْﻢ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻧُ َﻮرﻧَﺎ َوا ْﻏﻔ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ إِﻧ‬‫َرﺑـ‬
" Our Lord! Perfect our Light, and grant Forgiveness upon us: Indeed Thou, over all
things, are powerful."
Surah At-Tahreem (66), verse 8.

‫ﲔ‬ ِ  ‫ ِﻪ ر‬‫ا ْﳊﻤ ُﺪ ﻟِﻠ‬
َ ‫ب اﻟْ َﻌﺎﻟَﻤ‬ َ َْ
‫ﺮِﺣﻴ ِﻢ‬‫ﲪَ ِﻦ اﻟ‬ ٰ ْ ‫ﺮ‬‫اﻟ‬
‫ﻳ ِﻦ‬‫ﻚ ﻳَـ ْﻮِم اﻟﺪ‬ ِ ِ‫ﻣﺎﻟ‬

In the name of Allah, extremely Merciful, perpetually Merciful.


All praise be to Allah, the lord (cherisher & sustainer) of the universes;
Extremely Merciful, perpetually Merciful;
Possessor/Master of the Day of Judgment.
Only Thee do we worship, and only Thine aid we seek.
Guide us (to) the straight path;
The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace,
not those whose earned your wrath, nor those who went astray.

ُ‫ﻪ‬‫ﻻ ﲟَﺎ َﺷﺎءَ َوﺳ َﻊ ُﻛ ْﺮﺳﻴ‬ِ‫َوَﻣﺎ َﺧ ْﻠ َﻔ ُﻬ ْﻢ َوَﻻ ُﳛﻴﻄُﻮ َن ﺑِ َﺸ ْﻲء ﻣ ْﻦ ﻋ ْﻠﻤﻪ إ‬
‫ﻴﻢ‬ ِ ِ ِ ُ‫ات و ْاﻷَرض وَﻻ ﻳـﺌ‬ ِ
ُ ‫ﻲ اﻟْ َﻌﻈ‬ ‫ﻮدﻩُ ﺣ ْﻔﻈُ ُﻬ َﻤﺎ َو ُﻫ َﻮ اﻟْ َﻌﻠ‬ ُ َ َ َ ْ َ ‫ﺴ َﻤ َﺎو‬ ‫اﻟ‬

Allah; There is no God but He, the Living, the Self-subsisting. No slumber can seize
Him nor sleep. His are whatever are in the heavens and whatever are on earth. Who
is there (that) can intercede in His presence except by His permission? He knows
what is before them and what is behind them. Nor shall they encompass aught of
His knowledge except as He will. His Throne extends over the heavens and the
earth, and He feels no fatigue in preserving them for He is the Most High, the
Supreme.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 255.

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind


The Sovereign of mankind
The God of mankind
From the evil of the retreating whisperer
Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind
From among the jinn and mankind."
Surah An-Naas (114), verses 1-6.

‫ﺎﺳ ٍﺪ إِذَا َﺣ َﺴ َﺪ‬ ِ ‫ﺮ ﺣ‬‫وِﻣﻦ َﺷ‬

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak
From the evil of that which He created
And from the evil of darkness when it enshrouds
And from the evil of the blowers in knots
And from the evil of any envier when he envies."
Surah Al-Falaq (113), verses 1-5.

(1) The command to supplication

‫ﻳﻦ ﻳَ ْﺴﺘَﻜِْﱪُو َن َﻋ ْﻦ ِﻋﺒَ َﺎدِﰐ‬ ِ ‫ن اﻟ‬ ِ‫ ُﻜﻢ ادﻋ ِﻮﱐ أَﺳﺘ ِﺠﺐ ﻟَ ُﻜﻢ إ‬‫ﺎل رﺑ‬
‫ﺬ‬
َ ْ ْ َ ْ ُ ْ ُ َ َ َ‫َوﻗ‬
ِ ‫ﺳﻴ ْﺪﺧﻠُﻮ َن ﺟﻬﻨ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َداﺧ ِﺮ‬
‫ﻳﻦ‬ َ َ َ ُ ََ
"And your Lord said: "Call upon Me; I will answer you (your prayer); those who are
too arrogant from serving Me will find themselves in Hell - in humiliation! "
Surah Ghafir (40), verse 60.

َ َ‫ﻟَ ْﻮ أَﻧْـَﺰﻟْﻨَﺎ َﻫ َﺬا اﻟْ ُﻘ ْﺮآ َن َﻋﻠَﻰ َﺟﺒَ ٍﻞ ﻟََﺮأَﻳْـﺘَﻪُ َﺧﺎﺷ ًﻌﺎ ُﻣﺘ‬
ً ‫ﺼﺪ‬
ِ ‫َﺎ ﻟِﻠﻨ‬ُ‫ﻀ ِﺮ‬
‫ﻜُﺮو َن‬ ‫ ُﻬ ْﻢ ﻳَـﺘَـ َﻔ‬‫ﺎس ﻟَ َﻌﻠ‬ ْ َ‫ﺎل ﻧ‬
ُ َ‫ْاﻷ َْﻣﺜ‬
"Had We sent down this Quran upon a mountain, verily, thou would have seen it
humble itself and cleave asunder from fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes which
We propound to men, that they may reflect. "
Surah Al-Hashr (59), verse 21.

(3) Etiquette in supplications

‫ﻳﻦ‬ ِ ‫ﺐ اﻟْﻤﻌﺘ‬
‫ﺪ‬  ُِ ‫ﻪ َﻻ‬‫ﺮﻋﺎ وﺧ ْﻔﻴﺔً إِﻧ‬ ‫ ُﻜﻢ ﺗَﻀ‬‫ْادﻋﻮا رﺑ‬
‫ﳛ‬
َ ُ َ ْ ُ َ َُ ً َ ْ َ ُ
"Call on your Lord with humility and privately: for Allah loves not those who
trespass beyond bounds. "
Surah Al-A’raf (7), verse 55.

‫ِﻪ‬‫ﺖ اﻟﻠ‬ ِ ِ‫ض ﺑـﻌ َﺪ إ‬


َ َ‫ن َر ْﲪ‬ ِ‫ﺻ َﻼﺣ َﻬﺎ َو ْادﻋُﻮﻩُ َﺧ ْﻮﻓًﺎ َوﻃَ َﻤ ًﻌﺎ إ‬
ِ
ْ ْ َ ِ ‫َوَﻻ ﺗـُ ْﻔﺴ ُﺪوا ِﰲ ْاﻷ َْر‬
‫ﲔ‬ ِِ ِ ‫ﻗَ ِﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻳﺐ ﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺤﺴﻨ‬
ٌ
"Do no mischief on the earth, after it hath been set in order, but call on Him with
fear and longing (in your hearts): for the Mercy of Allah is (always) near to those
who do good. "
Surah Al-A’raf (7), verse 56.

(4) A Reminder not to ask for evil things

ِْ ‫ﺎﳋَِْﲑ وَﻛﺎ َن‬


‫اﻹﻧْ َﺴﺎ ُن َﻋ ُﺠ ًﻮﻻ‬ ِ ِ ِ
َ ْ ‫ﺮ ُد َﻋﺎءَﻩُ ﺑ‬‫ﺸ‬ ‫َوﻳَ ْﺪعُ ْاﻹﻧْ َﺴﺎ ُن ﺑﺎﻟ‬
The prayer that man should make for good, he makes for evil; for man ever so hasty
(in deeds).
Surah Al-Isra’ (17), verse 11.

(5) A reminder to never give up hope in supplications

ِ ْ ‫اﻹﻧْﺴﺎ ُن ِﻣﻦ ُد َﻋ ِﺎء‬


ٌ ُ‫ﺮ ﻓَـﻴَﺌ‬‫ﺸ‬ ‫ﺴﻪُ اﻟ‬ ‫اﳋَِْﲑ َوإ ْن َﻣ‬
‫ﻮس ﻗَـﻨُﻮ ٌط‬ ْ َ ِْ ‫َﻻ ﻳَ ْﺴﺄ َُم‬
"Man does not weary of asking for good (things), but if ill touches him, he gives up
all hope (and) is lost in despair. "
Surah Fussilat (41), verse 49.

(6) Question on supplications

ِ ‫اع إِذَا دﻋ‬


‫ﺎن‬ ِ ‫ﱐ ﻗَ ِﺮﻳﺐ أ‬ ‫ﲏ ﻓَِﺈ‬ ‫وإِذَا ﺳﺄَﻟَﻚ ِﻋﺒ ِﺎدي ﻋ‬
َ َ ِ ‫ﻴﺐ َد ْﻋ َﻮةَ اﻟﺪ‬
ُ ‫ُﺟ‬ ٌ َ َ َ َ َ
‫ ُﻬ ْﻢ ﻳَـ ْﺮ ُﺷ ُﺪو َن‬‫ﻓَـ ْﻠﻴَ ْﺴﺘَ ِﺠﻴﺒُﻮا ِﱄ َوﻟْﻴُـ ْﺆِﻣﻨُﻮا ِﰊ ﻟَ َﻌﻠ‬
"When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to
the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will,
Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way. "
Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 186.

(7) Answer to how supplications are granted

َ ‫ﳕَﺎ أ َْﻣ ُﺮﻩُ إِ َذا أ ََر َاد َﺷْﻴﺌًﺎ أَ ْن ﻳَـ ُﻘ‬ِ‫إ‬


‫ﻮل ﻟَﻪُ ُﻛ ْﻦ ﻓَـﻴَ ُﻜﻮ ُن‬
"Verily, when He intends a thing, His Command is, "be", and it is! "
Surah Yaa-Siin (36), verse 82.

(8) Always begin with Istighfar for it will open the sky!

‫ﻔ ًﺎرا‬ ‫ﻪُ َﻛﺎ َن َﻏ‬‫ ُﻜ ْﻢ إِﻧ‬‫اﺳﺘَـ ْﻐ ِﻔُﺮوا َرﺑ‬


ْ
‫ﺴ َﻤﺎءَ َﻋﻠَْﻴ ُﻜ ْﻢ ِﻣ ْﺪ َر ًارا‬ ‫ﻳـُْﺮِﺳ ِﻞ اﻟ‬
ٍ ‫وﳝُْ ِﺪ ْد ُﻛﻢ ﺑِﺄَﻣﻮ ٍال وﺑﻨِﲔ وَﳚﻌﻞ ﻟَ ُﻜﻢ ﺟﻨ‬
‫َ ًﺎرا‬َْ ‫ﺎت َوَْﳚ َﻌ ْﻞ ﻟَ ُﻜ ْﻢ أ‬ َ ْ ْ َْ َ َ ََ َ ْ ْ َ
"As forgiveness from your Lord. Indeed, He is oft-forgiving
He will send (rahmah from) the sky upon you in abundance
And He will expand you with wealth and children, and make for you gardens, and
make for you rivers”
Surah Nuh (71), verses 10-12

(9) The supplication of Adam A.S.

ِ ْ ‫ﻦ ِﻣﻦ‬ َ‫ﻨَﺎ ﻇَﻠَﻤﻨَﺎ أَﻧْـ ُﻔﺴﻨَﺎ وإِ ْن َﱂ ﺗَـ ْﻐ ِﻔﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ وﺗَـﺮ َﲪْﻨَﺎ ﻟَﻨَ ُﻜﻮﻧ‬‫رﺑـ‬
َ ‫اﳋَﺎﺳ ِﺮ‬
‫ﻳﻦ‬ َ َْ ْ ْ َ َ ْ َ
"Oh Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If thou forgive us not and bestow
not upon us Thy Mercy, we shall certainly be lost."
Surah Al-A’raf (7), verse 23.

(10) The supplication of Nuh A.S. (1)

‫ﻻ ﺗَـ ْﻐ ِﻔ ْﺮ ِﱄ َوﺗَـ ْﺮ َﲪِْﲏ أَ ُﻛ ْﻦ‬ِ‫ﺲ ِﱄ ﺑِِﻪ ِﻋ ْﻠ ٌﻢ َوإ‬ َ َ‫َﺳﺄَﻟ‬


َ ‫ﻚ َﻣﺎ ﻟَْﻴ‬ َ ِ‫ﱐ أَﻋُﻮذُ ﺑ‬ ِ‫ب إ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ أَ ْن أ‬  ‫َر‬
‫ﻳﻦ‬ ِ
‫ﺮ‬ ِ َ‫اﳋ‬
‫ﺎﺳ‬ ْ ‫ﻦ‬ ِ
‫ﻣ‬
َ َ
O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask Thee for that of which I have no
knowledge. And unless thou forgive me and have Mercy on me, I shall become from
amongst the losers!
Surah Hud (11), verse 47.

(11) The supplication of Nuh A.S. (2)

ِ
َ ‫ﺖ َﺧ ْﲑُ اﻟْ ُﻤْﻨ ِﺰﻟ‬
‫ﲔ‬ َ ْ‫ب أَﻧْ ِﺰﻟِْﲏ ُﻣْﻨـَﺰًﻻ ُﻣﺒَ َﺎرًﻛﺎ َوأَﻧ‬
 ‫َر‬
Oh My Lord!, cause me to land at a blessed landing place, for You are the Best of
those who cause to land
Surah Al-Mu’minuun (23), verse 29.

(12) The supplication of Nuh A.S. (3)

‫ﻴﻢ‬ ِ‫ﰊ ﻟَﻐَ ُﻔﻮر ر‬‫ن ر‬ ِ‫ِﻪ َْﳎﺮاﻫﺎ وﻣﺮﺳﺎﻫﺎ إ‬‫ﺑِﺴ ِﻢ اﻟﻠ‬
‫ﺣ‬
ٌ ٌَ َ َ َ ُْ َ َ َ ْ
In the name of Allah is its course and its anchorage. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving
and Merciful.
Surah Hud (11), verse 41.

(13) The supplication of Ibrahim A.S. (1)

‫َوَﻻ ُﲣِْﺰِﱐ ﻳَـ ْﻮَم ﻳـُْﺒـ َﻌﺜُﻮ َن‬


And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when they will be raised up
Surah Ash-Shu’ara (26), verses 87.

(14) The supplication of Ibrahim A.S. (2)

ِِ ِ ِ َ ‫ﻚ أَﻧَـﺒـﻨَﺎ وإِﻟَﻴ‬
َ ‫ﺬ‬‫ﻨَﺎ َﻻ َْﲡ َﻌ ْﻠﻨَﺎ ﻓْﺘـﻨَﺔً ﻟﻠ‬‫ﻚ اﻟْ َﻤﺼﲑُ َرﺑـ‬
‫ﻳﻦ َﻛ َﻔ ُﺮوا‬ ْ َ ْ َ ‫ﻛ ْﻠﻨَﺎ َوإِﻟَْﻴ‬‫ﻚ ﺗَـ َﻮ‬
َ ‫ﻨَﺎ َﻋﻠَْﻴ‬‫َرﺑـ‬
ِ ِ
‫ﻴﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ اﻟْ َﻌﺰ ُﻳﺰ ا ْﳊَﻜ‬ َ ‫ﻨَﺎ إِﻧ‬‫َوا ْﻏﻔ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ َرﺑـ‬
ِ َ ْ‫ﻚ أَﻧ‬
Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the
destination. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and
forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Surah Al-Mumtahinah (60), verses 4-5.

(15) The supplication of Ibrahim A.S. (3)

ِ ‫ِﻪ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺷﻲ ٍء ِﰲ ْاﻷ َْر‬‫ﻚ ﺗَـ ْﻌﻠَ ُﻢ َﻣﺎ ُﳔْ ِﻔﻲ َوَﻣﺎ ﻧـُ ْﻌﻠِ ُﻦ َوَﻣﺎ َﳜَْﻔﻰ َﻋﻠَﻰ اﻟﻠ‬
‫ض‬ َ 
‫ﻧ‬ ِ‫ﻨَﺎ إ‬‫رﺑـ‬
َ
ْ
‫ﺴ َﻤ ِﺎء‬ ‫َوَﻻ ِﰲ اﻟ‬
«Our Lord, indeed You know what we conceal and what we declare, and nothing is
hidden from Allah on the earth or in the heaven»
Surah Ibrahim (14), verses 38.

(16) The supplication of Lut A.S.

‫ﺎ ﻳَـ ْﻌ َﻤﻠُﻮ َن‬‫ِﲏ َوأ َْﻫﻠِﻲ ِﳑ‬َ‫ب ﳒ‬


 ‫َر‬
O my Lord! deliver me and my family from the things they do!
Surah Ash-Shu’ara (26), verses 169.

(17) The supplication of Yusuf A.S.

ِ ِ ِ ‫ﻤﺘَِﲏ ِﻣﻦ ﺗَﺄْ ِو ِﻳﻞ ْاﻷ‬‫ﻚ وﻋﻠ‬


ِ ‫ﺴﻤﺎو‬ ‫ﺎﻃﺮ اﻟ‬ ِ ِ
‫ات‬ َ َ َ َ‫َﺣﺎدﻳﺚ ﻓ‬ َ ْ ْ َ َ ‫ب ﻗَ ْﺪ آﺗَـْﻴﺘَِﲏ ﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﻠ‬
 ‫َر‬
ِِ  ‫ِﲏ ﻣﺴﻠِﻤﺎ وأَ ْﳊِ ْﻘ ِﲏ ﺑِﺎﻟ‬‫ﺪﻧْـﻴﺎ و ْاﻵ ِﺧﺮِة ﺗَـﻮﻓ‬ ‫ﻲ ِﰲ اﻟ‬‫ض أَﻧْﺖ وﻟِﻴ‬
‫ﲔ‬َ ‫ﺼﺎﳊ‬ َ ً ُْ َ َ َ َ َ َ ِ ‫َو ْاﻷ َْر‬
My Lord, You have given me [something] of sovereignty and taught me of the
interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in
this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the
righteous."
Surah Yusuf (12), verses 101.

(18) The supplication of Dzun Nun aka Yunus A.S.

ِِ ِ ‫ﱐ ُﻛْﻨ‬ ِ‫ﻚ إ‬
َ ‫ﺎﻟﻤ‬‫ﺖ ﻣ َﻦ اﻟﻈ‬
‫ﲔ‬ ُ َ ْ‫ﻻ أَﻧ‬ِ‫َﻻ إِﻟَﻪَ إ‬
َ َ‫ﺖ ُﺳْﺒ َﺤﺎﻧ‬
"There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed in the “darkness” (wrong!)"
Surah Al-Anbiya’ (21), verse 87.

(19) The supplication of Ayub A.S. (1)

‫ﲔ‬ ِِ ‫ﺮ‬‫ﺮ وأَﻧْﺖ أَرﺣﻢ اﻟ‬‫ﻀ‬


‫اﲪ‬ ِ ‫أ‬
َ ُ َ ْ َ َ  ‫ﲏ اﻟ‬ َ ‫ﺴ‬ ‫َﱐ َﻣ‬
"Truly distress has seized me, but Thou art the Most Merciful of those that are
merciful.",
Surah Al-Anbiya’ (21), verse 83.

(20) The supplication of Ayub A.S. (2)


ٍ ‫ﺐ و َﻋ َﺬ‬
‫اب‬ ٍ ْ ُ‫ﻴﻄَﺎ ُن ﺑِﻨ‬ْ‫ﺴ ِﲏ اﻟﺸ‬ ‫َﱐ َﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺼ‬ َ ‫أ‬
And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has
touched me with hardship and torment."
Surah Sad (38), verse 41.

(21) The supplication of Musa A.S. (1)

‫ﺖ ﻧَـ ْﻔ ِﺴﻲ ﻓَﺎ ْﻏ ِﻔ ْﺮ ِﱄ‬


ُ ‫ﱐ ﻇَﻠَ ْﻤ‬ ِ‫ب إ‬
 ‫َر‬
My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me
Surah Al-Qasas (28), verse 16.

(22) The supplication of Musa A.S. (2)

“O my Lord! expand for me my breast; ‫ﺻ ْﺪ ِري‬َ ‫ب ا ْﺷَﺮ ْح ِﱄ‬  ‫َر‬


"Ease for me my task; ‫ﺴ ْﺮ ِﱄ أ َْﻣ ِﺮي‬ َ‫َوﻳ‬
‫اﺣﻠُ ْﻞ ﻋُ ْﻘ َﺪ ًة ِﻣ ْﻦ‬
ْ ‫َو‬
And remove the impediment from my tongue,
‫ﻟِ َﺴ ِﺎﱐ‬
(So,) they may understand my words" ‫ﻳَـ ْﻔ َﻘ ُﻬﻮا ﻗَـ ْﻮِﱄ‬
Surah TaHa (20), verses 25-28.

(23) The supplication of Musa A.S. (3)

‫ﱄ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺧ ٍْﲑ ﻓَِﻘ ٌﲑ‬


َ ِ‫ﺖ إ‬ ِ ‫ر‬
َ ْ‫ﱐ ﻟ َﻤﺎ أَﻧْـَﺰﻟ‬ ِ‫ب إ‬َ
My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.
Surah Al-Qasas (28), verse 24.

(24) The supplication of Musa A.S. (4)


ِِ َ ‫ﺖ إِﻟَْﻴ‬
َ ‫و ُل اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺆﻣﻨ‬َ‫ﻚ َوأَﻧَﺎ أ‬
‫ﲔ‬ ُ ‫ﻚ ﺗـُْﺒ‬
َ َ‫ُﺳْﺒ َﺤﺎﻧ‬
Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers.
Surah Al-A’raaf (7), verse 143.

(25) The supplication of Daud A.S.

‫ﻳﻦ‬ِ
‫ﺮ‬ ِ‫ﺖ أَﻗْ َﺪاﻣﻨﺎ واﻧْﺼﺮﻧَﺎ ﻋﻠَﻰ اﻟْ َﻘﻮِم اﻟْ َﻜﺎﻓ‬‫ﻨﺎ أَﻓْ ِﺮ ْغ ﻋﻠَﻴـﻨﺎ ﺻﱪا وﺛـَﺒ‬‫رﺑـ‬
َ ْ َ ْ ُ َ ََ ْ َ ًْ َ َ ْ َ ََ
Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over
the disbelieving people.
Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 250.

(26) The supplication of Sulaiman A.S. (1)

ِ ٍ ‫ب ا ْﻏ ِﻔﺮ ِﱄ وﻫﺐ ِﱄ ﻣ ْﻠ ًﻜﺎ َﻻ ﻳـْﻨﺒﻐِﻲ ِﻷ‬


‫ﺎب‬
ُ ‫ﻫ‬‫ﺖ اﻟْ َﻮ‬ َ ‫َﺣﺪ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﺑَـ ْﻌﺪي إِﻧ‬
َ ْ‫ﻚ أَﻧ‬ َ ََ ُ ْ َ َ ْ  ‫َر‬
"O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, suits not another after me:
for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties"
Surah Saad (38), verse 35.

(27) The supplication of Sulaiman A.S. (2)

 ‫ﻲ َو َﻋﻠَﻰ َواﻟِ َﺪ‬ َ‫ﺖ َﻋﻠ‬


‫ي َوأَ ْن أ َْﻋ َﻤ َﻞ‬ َ َ‫ب أ َْوِز ْﻋ ِﲏ أَ ْن أَ ْﺷ ُﻜَﺮ ﻧِ ْﻌ َﻤﺘ‬
َ ‫ِﱵ أَﻧْـ َﻌ ْﻤ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬  ‫َر‬
‫ﲔ‬ ِِ  ‫ﻚ ِﰲ ِﻋﺒ ِﺎد َك اﻟ‬ َ ِ‫ﺿﺎﻩُ َوأ َْد ِﺧ ْﻠ ِﲏ ﺑَِﺮ ْﲪَﺘ‬
ِ
َ ‫ﺼﺎﳊ‬ َ َ ‫ﺻﺎﳊًﺎ ﺗَـ ْﺮ‬َ
My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon
me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit
me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."
Surah An-Naml (27), verse 19.

(28) The supplication of Zakaria A.S.


ِ
َ ‫ﺖ َﺧ ْﲑُ اﻟْ َﻮا ِرﺛ‬
‫ﲔ‬ َ ْ‫ب َﻻ ﺗَ َﺬ ْرِﱐ ﻓَـ ْﺮًدا َوأَﻧ‬
 ‫َر‬
"O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors.",
Surah Al-Anbiya’ (21), verse 89.

(29) The supplication of Isa A.S.

ِ ‫وﻟِﻨَﺎ و‬َ‫ﻴﺪا ِﻷ‬


ً‫آﺧ ِﺮﻧَﺎ َوآﻳَﺔ‬ ً ِ ‫ﺴﻤ ِﺎء ﺗَ ُﻜﻮ ُن ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬ ‫ﻨَﺎ أَﻧْ ِﺰْل ﻋﻠَﻴـﻨَﺎ ﻣﺎﺋِ َﺪةً ِﻣﻦ اﻟ‬‫ﻢ رﺑـ‬ ‫ﻬ‬‫اﻟﻠ‬
‫ﻋ‬
َ َ َ َ َْ َ ُ
ِ
َ ‫ﺮا ِزﻗ‬ ‫ﺖ َﺧ ْﲑُ اﻟ‬
‫ﲔ‬ َ ْ‫ﻚ َو ْارُزﻗْـﻨَﺎ َوأَﻧ‬َ ‫ِﻣْﻨ‬
O Allah, our Lord, send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven to be
for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And
provide for us, and You are the best of providers.
Surah Al-Maa’idah (5), verse 114.

‫ﻞ َﺷ ْﻲ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪ ٌﻳﺮ‬ ‫ﻚ َﻋﻠَﻰ ُﻛ‬ ْ ‫ل َﻣ ْﻦ ﺗَ َﺸﺎءُ ﺑِﻴَ ِﺪ َك‬ ‫ﺗَ َﺸﺎءُ َوﺗُ ِﺬ‬
َ ‫اﳋَْﲑُ إِﻧ‬
‫ِج‬‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﲣ‬
ْ ُ ‫و‬ ‫ﺖ‬ِ ‫ﻴ ِﻞ وُﲣْﺮِج ا ْﳊﻲ ِﻣﻦ اﻟْﻤﻴ‬‫ﻬﺎر ِﰲ اﻟﻠ‬‫ﻬﺎ ِر وﺗُﻮﻟِﺞ اﻟﻨـ‬‫ﻴﻞ ِﰲ اﻟﻨـ‬‫ﺗُﻮﻟِﺞ اﻟﻠ‬
ُ َ َ َ َ ُ َ ْ ََ ُ َ َ َْ ُ
ٍ ‫ﻲ وﺗَـﺮُز ُق ﻣﻦ ﺗَ َﺸﺎء ﺑِﻐَ ِْﲑ ِﺣﺴ‬ ‫ﺖ ِﻣﻦ ا ْﳊ‬
‫ﺎب‬ َ ُ ْ َ ْ َ َ َ َ ‫اﻟْ َﻤﻴ‬
O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You
take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You
humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are, over all things,
all-powerful

You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night; and
You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And
You give provision to whom You will without account.
Surah Ali Imran (3), verse 26-27.

(31) Supplication of Iftitah

‫ﲔ‬ ِ  ‫ ِﻪ ر‬‫ن ﺻ َﻼِﰐ وﻧُﺴ ِﻜﻲ وَْﳏﻴﺎي وﳑََ ِﺎﰐ ﻟِﻠ‬ ِ‫إ‬
َ ‫ب اﻟْ َﻌﺎﻟَﻤ‬َ ََ َ َ ُ َ َ
ِِ ِ َ ِ‫ﻳﻚ ﻟَﻪ وﺑِ َﺬﻟ‬
َ ‫و ُل اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺴﻠﻤ‬َ‫ت َوأَﻧَﺎ أ‬
‫ﲔ‬ ُ ‫ﻚ أُﻣ ْﺮ‬ َ ُ َ ‫َﻻ َﺷ ِﺮ‬
Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord
of the worlds
No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among
you] of the Muslims.
Surah Al-An’am (6), verses 162-163.

(32) Supplication for sufficiency

ِ ‫ِﻪ ر‬‫ﺎ إِ َﱃ اﻟﻠ‬‫ﻀﻠِ ِﻪ ورﺳﻮﻟُﻪ إِﻧ‬


‫اﻏﺒُﻮ َن‬ ْ ‫ﻓ‬
َ ‫ﻦ‬ ِ ‫ﻪ‬‫ﻪ ﺳﻴـ ْﺆﺗِﻴﻨَﺎ اﻟﻠ‬‫ﺣﺴﺒـﻨَﺎ اﻟﻠ‬
‫ﻣ‬
َ ُ ُ ََ ْ ُ َُ ُ ُْ َ
Sufficient for us is Allah; Allah will give us of His bounty, and [so will] His
Messenger; indeed, we are desirous toward Allah
Surah At-Taubah (9), verse 59.

(33) Supplication for success esp. when going into dangerous places

َ ْ‫اﺟ َﻌ ْﻞ ِﱄ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻟَ ُﺪﻧ‬

ْ ‫َﺧ ِﺮ ْﺟ ِﲏ ﳐَُْﺮ َج ﺻ ْﺪق َو‬
ٍ ِ ِ ‫ر‬
ْ ‫ب أ َْدﺧ ْﻠ ِﲏ ُﻣ ْﺪ َﺧ َﻞ ﺻ ْﺪق َوأ‬ َ
ِ َ‫ﺳ ْﻠﻄَﺎﻧًﺎ ﻧ‬
‫ﺼ ًﲑا‬ ُ
ِ ‫ن اﻟْﺒ‬ ِ‫ﺎﻃﻞ إ‬
‫ﺎﻃ َﻞ َﻛﺎ َن َزُﻫﻮﻗًﺎ‬ ِ
َ ُ َ‫ﻖ َوَزَﻫ َﻖ اﻟْﺒ‬ َ‫َﺟﺎءَ ا ْﳊ‬
My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me
from Yourself a supporting authority.
Truth has come, and falsehood has departed. Indeed, falsehood, [by nature], ever
bound to depart.
Surah Al-Isra’ (17), verses 80-81.

(34) Supplication for parents

‫ﺻﻐِ ًﲑا‬
َ ‫ﻴَ ِﺎﱐ‬‫ب ْار َﲪْ ُﻬ َﻤﺎ َﻛ َﻤﺎ َرﺑـ‬
 ‫َر‬
My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.
Surah Al-Isra’ (17), verse 24.

(35) Supplication against burdens of trials and for forgiveness

‫ﻨَﺎ َﻻ‬‫ﺖ َرﺑـ‬ ْ َ‫ﺖ َو َﻋﻠَْﻴـ َﻬﺎ َﻣﺎ ا ْﻛﺘَ َﺴﺒ‬ْ َ‫ﻻ ُو ْﺳ َﻌ َﻬﺎ َﳍَﺎ َﻣﺎ َﻛ َﺴﺒ‬ِ‫ﻪُ ﻧَـ ْﻔ ًﺴﺎ إ‬‫ﻒ اﻟﻠ‬
ُ ‫َﻻ ﻳُ َﻜﻠ‬
ِ ِ ِ
‫ﺻًﺮا َﻛ َﻤﺎ َﲪَْﻠﺘَﻪُ َﻋﻠَﻰ‬ ْ ِ‫ﻨَﺎ َوَﻻ َْﲢﻤ ْﻞ َﻋﻠَْﻴـﻨَﺎ إ‬‫َﺧﻄَﺄْﻧَﺎ َرﺑـ‬ ْ ‫ﺗـُ َﺆاﺧ ْﺬﻧَﺎ إِ ْن ﻧَﺴﻴﻨَﺎ أ َْو أ‬
‫ﺎ َوا ْﻏ ِﻔ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬‫ﻒ َﻋﻨ‬ ِ ِ ِ ‫ ِﺬ‬‫اﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﻤ ْﻠﻨَﺎ َﻣﺎ َﻻ ﻃَﺎﻗَﺔَ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﺑِﻪ َو ْاﻋ‬ َ‫ﻨَﺎ َوَﻻ ُﲢ‬‫ﻳﻦ ﻣ ْﻦ ﻗَـْﺒﻠﻨَﺎ َرﺑـ‬ َ
‫ﻳﻦ‬ ِ
‫ﺮ‬ ِ‫وار َﲪﻨﺎ أَﻧْﺖ ﻣﻮَﻻﻧَﺎ ﻓَﺎﻧْﺼﺮﻧَﺎ ﻋﻠَﻰ اﻟْ َﻘﻮِم اﻟْ َﻜﺎﻓ‬
َ ْ َ ُْ ْ َ َ َْ ْ َ
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the
consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of]
what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have
forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid
upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no
ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our
protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.
Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 286.

‫ب ِزْدِﱐ ِﻋ ْﻠ ًﻤﺎ‬
 ‫َر‬
My Lord, increase me in knowledge
Surah Al-Isra’ (20), verse 114.

(37) Supplication from the incitements and presence of the devils

My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils
And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me
Surah Al-Mu’minuun (23), verses 97-98.

(38) Supplication for repentance

ِِ ِ
‫ﲔ‬ َ ْ‫ﺎ ﻓَﺎ ْﻏﻔ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ َو ْار َﲪْﻨَﺎ َوأَﻧ‬‫ﻨَﺎ َآﻣﻨ‬‫َرﺑـ‬
َ ‫ﺮاﲪ‬ ‫ﺖ َﺧ ْﲑُ اﻟ‬
Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the
best of the merciful.
Surah Al-Mu’minuun (23), verse 109.

(39) General supplication and repentance

 ‫ﻲ َو َﻋﻠَﻰ َواﻟِ َﺪ‬ َ‫ﺖ َﻋﻠ‬


‫ي َوأَ ْن أ َْﻋ َﻤ َﻞ‬ َ َ‫ب أ َْوِز ْﻋ ِﲏ أَ ْن أَ ْﺷ ُﻜَﺮ ﻧِ ْﻌ َﻤﺘ‬
َ ‫ِﱵ أَﻧْـ َﻌ ْﻤ‬‫ﻚ اﻟ‬  ‫َر‬
ِِ ِ ِ ‫ﺎﳊﺎ ﺗَـﺮﺿﺎﻩ وأ‬ ِ
‫ﲔ‬َ ‫ﱐ ﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺴﻠﻤ‬ ِ‫ﻚ َوإ‬ َ ‫ﺖ إِﻟَْﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﱐ ﺗـُْﺒ‬ ِ‫ِﱵ إ‬‫رﻳ‬ُ‫َﺻﻠ ْﺢ ِﱄ ِﰲ ذ‬ ْ ََُْ ً ‫ﺻ‬ َ
My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon
me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and
make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I
am of the Muslims
Surah Al-Ahqaf (46), verse 15.

(40) Supplication of “The Thousand Dinars”

‫ﻛ ْﻞ َﻋﻠَﻰ‬‫ﺐ َوَﻣ ْﻦ ﻳَـﺘَـ َﻮ‬ ِ ُ ‫ﻪَ َْﳚ َﻌ ْﻞ ﻟَﻪُ ﳐََْﺮ ًﺟﺎ َوﻳَـ ْﺮُزﻗْﻪُ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺣْﻴ‬‫ﻖ اﻟﻠ‬ِ ‫َوَﻣ ْﻦ ﻳَـﺘ‬
ُ ‫ﺚ َﻻ َْﳛﺘَﺴ‬
‫ﻞ َﺷ ْﻲ ٍء ﻗَ ْﺪ ًرا‬ ‫ﻪُ ﻟِ ُﻜ‬‫ﻪَ ﺑَﺎﻟِ ُﻎ أ َْﻣ ِﺮِﻩ ﻗَ ْﺪ َﺟ َﻌ َﻞ اﻟﻠ‬‫ن اﻟﻠ‬ ِ‫ِﻪ ﻓَـ ُﻬ َﻮ َﺣ ْﺴﺒُﻪُ إ‬‫اﻟﻠ‬
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out
And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon
Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose.
Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent
Surah Talaaq (65), verses 2-3.

(41) Supplication for favourable turn of events

‫ ْﺊ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ أ َْﻣ ِﺮﻧَﺎ َر َﺷ ًﺪا‬‫ﻚ َر ْﲪَ ًﺔ َوَﻫﻴ‬


َ ْ‫ﻨَﺎ آﺗِﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻟَ ُﺪﻧ‬‫َرﺑـ‬
Our Lord! Grant mercy especially from you, and facilitate us in our affair (in the)
right way
Surah Al-Kahf (18), verse 10.

(42) Supplication for death in the state of Iman (1)

َ ْ‫ﻚ أَﻧ‬
‫ﺖ‬ َ ْ‫ﺐ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻟَ ُﺪﻧ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َر ْﲪَﺔً إِﻧ‬ ْ ‫ﻨَﺎ َﻻ ﺗُِﺰ ْغ ﻗُـﻠُﻮﺑَـﻨَﺎ ﺑَـ ْﻌ َﺪ إِ ْذ َﻫ َﺪﻳْـﺘَـﻨَﺎ َوَﻫ‬‫َرﺑـ‬
‫ﺎب‬
ُ ‫ﻫ‬‫اﻟْ َﻮ‬
Our Lord, Let not our hearts deviate after you have guided us, but grant us mercy
especially from you; for you are the provider of bounties.
Surah Ali Imran (3), verse 8.

‫ﻨَﺎ ﻓَﺎ ْﻏ ِﻔ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬‫ﺎ َرﺑـ‬‫ﺂﻣﻨ‬ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ ِ


َ َ‫ ُﻜ ْﻢ ﻓ‬‫ﻨَﺎ َﲰ ْﻌﻨَﺎ ُﻣﻨَﺎدﻳًﺎ ﻳـُﻨَﺎدي ﻟ ِْﻺﳝَﺎن أَ ْن آﻣﻨُﻮا ﺑَﺮﺑ‬‫ﻨَﺎ إِﻧـ‬‫َرﺑـ‬
‫ـﻨَﺎ َﻣ َﻊ ْاﻷَﺑْـَﺮا ِر‬‫ﺌَﺎﺗِﻨَﺎ َوﺗَـ َﻮﻓ‬‫ﺎ َﺳﻴ‬‫ﺮ َﻋﻨ‬ْ ‫ذُﻧُﻮﺑَـﻨَﺎ َوَﻛﻔ‬
Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], 'Believe in your
Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us
our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous»
Surah Ali Imran (3), verse 193.

(44) Supplication for family and self

‫ﲔ إِ َﻣ ًﺎﻣﺎ‬ ِ ِ ٍ ُ ‫ﺮَة أ َْﻋ‬‫ﺎﺗِﻨَﺎ ﻗُـ‬‫رﻳ‬ُ‫ﺐ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ أ َْزو ِاﺟﻨَﺎ وذ‬


َ ‫ﻘ‬‫اﺟ َﻌ ْﻠﻨَﺎ ﻟ ْﻠ ُﻤﺘ‬
ْ ‫ﲔ َو‬ َ َ ْ ‫ﻨَﺎ َﻫ‬‫َرﺑـ‬
Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring coolness to our eyes and
make us an example for the righteous.
Surah Al-Furqan (25), verse 74.

(45) Supplication for protection when in fear

ِ ِ ِ ِ‫ﻪ وﻧِﻌﻢ اﻟْﻮﻛ‬‫ﺣﺴﺒـﻨَﺎ اﻟﻠ‬


ُ‫ﺼﲑ‬‫ﻴﻞ َوﻧ ْﻌ َﻢ اﻟْ َﻤ ْﻮَﱃ َوﻧ ْﻌ َﻢ اﻟﻨ‬
ُ َ َ ْ َ ُ ُْ َ
Allah is sufficient for us, for He is the best Guardian and the best Protector and the
best Helper.
Surah Al-Imran (3), verse 172, with Surah Al-Anfal (8), verse 40 or Surah Al-Hajj (22), verse 78.

(46) Supplication for retrieval of lost item/people

‫ﻒ اﻟْ ِﻤ َﻴﻌ َﺎد‬ ِ ِ ِ ‫ﺎس ﻟِﻴـﻮٍم َﻻ رﻳ‬ ِ َ ‫ﻨَﺎ إِﻧ‬‫رﺑـ‬


ُ ‫ﻪَ َﻻ ُﳜْﻠ‬‫ن اﻟﻠ‬ ِ‫ﺐ ﻓﻴﻪ إ‬
َ ْ َ ْ َ ِ ‫ﻚ َﺟﺎﻣ ُﻊ اﻟﻨ‬ َ
Our Lord! Thou art He that will gather mankind Together against a day about
which there is no doubt; for Allah never fails in His promise
Surah ‘Ali Imran (3), verse 9.

(47) Supplication for protection from shaitan’s deeds and witchcraft

ِ ‫ﺴ ِﻤ‬ ‫ﻪ ﻫﻮ اﻟ‬‫ِﻪ إِﻧ‬‫ﺎن ﻧَـﺰغٌ ﻓَﺎﺳﺘﻌِ ْﺬ ﺑِﺎﻟﻠ‬


‫ﻴﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﻴﻊ اﻟْ َﻌﻠ‬
ُ َُ ُ َ ْ ْ ِ َ‫ﻴﻄ‬ْ‫ﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﺸ‬
َ ‫ﻣﺎ ﻳَـْﻨـَﺰ َﻏﻨ‬ ِ‫َوإ‬
And if (at any time) an incitement is made to thee by the Evil One, seek refuge in
Allah. He is the One Who hears and knows all things.
Surah Fussilat (41), verse 36.

Steps for protection from the evil ones, witchcraft, evil eye and also other evils:

Step 1: Recite Al-Fatihah


Step 2: Recite surah An-Naas three times
Step 3: Recite surah Al-Falaq three times
Step 4: Recite surah Al-Ikhlas three times
Step 5: Recite the following three times:

‫اﻟﺴ َﻤ ِﺎء َو ُﻫ َﻮ‬ ِ ِ ‫اﲰ ِﻪ َﺷﻲءٌ ِﰲ اﻷ‬


ّ ‫َرض َوَﻻ ﰲ‬
ِ ِ ِ ‫ﺑِﺴ ِﻢ‬
ُ َ‫ﺬي َﻻ ﻳ‬‫اﷲ اﻟ‬
ْ ْ ‫ﺮ َﻣ َﻊ‬‫ﻀ‬ ْ
‫ﻴﻢ‬ِ‫ﺴ ِﻤﻴﻊ اﻟﻌﻠ‬ ‫اﻟ‬
ٌ َ ُ
In the name of Allah by whose name nothing in the earth nor the heaven can/will
harm. He is All-Hearing, the All-Knowing
[Sunan Abu Daud, 5088, Book of Adab / Sunan Tirmidhi, 3388, Book of Supplication]

Step 6: Recite the following three times:


ِ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺎ‬‫اﷲ اﻟﺘ‬
‫ﺮ َﻣﺎ َﺧﻠَ َﻖ‬‫ﺎت ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺷ‬ ِ ‫أَﻋﻮذُ ﺑِ َﻜﻠِﻤ‬
ِ ‫ﺎت‬
َ ُ
I seek refuge in the Perfect Word of Allah from the evil of what He has created
[Saheeh Muslim, 2708, Book 48, Chapter 16]

Step 7: Recite the following three times:

ِ َ ْ‫ﻻ اﷲُ َو ْﺣ َﺪﻩُ َﻻ َﺷ ِﺮﻳ‬ِ‫ﻻ إِﻟَﻪَ إ‬


ُ ‫ﻚ َوﻟَﻪُ ا ْﳊَ ْﻤ ُﺪ ُْﳛﻴِ ْﻲ َوُﳝْﻴ‬
‫ﺖ َوُﻫ َﻮ‬ ُ ‫ﻚ ﻟَﻪُ ﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﻠ‬
‫ﻞ َﺷْﻴ ٍﺊ ﻗَ ِﺪﻳْـٌﺮ‬ ‫َﻋﻠَﻰ ُﻛ‬
None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone, with no partner, to Him
belongs all sovereignty and to him belongs all praises, He grants life and He causes
death, and He is, over all things, are all powerful

(48) Supplication to nullify sorcery

‫ﻳﻦ‬ ِِ ِ ‫ﻪ َﻻ ﻳ‬‫ن اﻟﻠ‬ ِ‫ﻪ ﺳﻴﺒ ِﻄﻠُﻪ إ‬‫ن اﻟﻠ‬ ِ‫ﺴﺤﺮ إ‬ ‫ﻣﺎ ِﺟْﺌﺘﻢ ﺑِِﻪ اﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺼﻠ ُﺢ َﻋ َﻤ َﻞ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﻔﺴﺪ‬
ُْ َ ُ ُْ َ َ ُْ ُْ َ
‫ﻖ ﺑِ َﻜﻠِ َﻤﺎﺗِِﻪ َوﻟَ ْﻮ َﻛ ِﺮَﻩ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺠ ِﺮُﻣﻮ َن‬ َ‫ﻪُ ا ْﳊ‬‫ﻖ اﻟﻠ‬ ‫َوُِﳛ‬
What ye have brought is sorcery: Allah will surely nullify it: for Allah prospereth
not the work of those who make mischief.

And Allah will establish the truth by his words even if the criminals dislike (it).
Surah Yunus (10), verses 81-82.

(49) Supplication for rain

‫ﺮَﻫﺎ َوُﻣ ْﺴﺘَـ ْﻮَد َﻋ َﻬﺎ ُﻛﻞ‬‫ ِﻪ ِرْزﻗُـ َﻬﺎ َوﻳَـ ْﻌﻠَ ُﻢ ُﻣ ْﺴﺘَـ َﻘ‬‫ﻻ َﻋﻠَﻰ اﻟﻠ‬ِ‫ض إ‬
ِ ‫ٍﺔ ِﰲ ْاﻷ َْر‬‫َوَﻣﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ َداﺑ‬
ٍ ِ‫ﺎب ُﻣﺒ‬
‫ﲔ‬ ٍ َ‫ِﰲ ﻛِﺘ‬
And (there) is no moving creature on earth but its sustenance depends on Allah. He
knows the time and place of its definite abode and its temporary deposit: All is in a
clear Record
Surah Hud (11), verse 6.
… while making lots of istighfar

(50) Supplication for Healing

‫ ُﻜ ْﻢ إِﻟَْﻴـﻨَﺎ َﻻ ﺗـُ ْﺮ َﺟﻌُﻮ َن‬‫ﳕَﺎ َﺧﻠَ ْﻘﻨَﺎ ُﻛ ْﻢ َﻋﺒَﺜًﺎ َوأَﻧ‬َ‫أَﻓَ َﺤ ِﺴْﺒﺘُ ْﻢ أ‬


‫ب اﻟْ َﻌ ْﺮ ِش اﻟْ َﻜ ِﺮِﱘ‬  ‫ﻻ ُﻫ َﻮ َر‬ِ‫ﻖ َﻻ إِﻟَ َﻪ إ‬ َ‫ﻚ ا ْﳊ‬ ِ
ُ ‫ﻪُ اﻟْ َﻤﻠ‬‫ﺎﱃ اﻟﻠ‬ َ ‫ﻓَـﺘَـ َﻌ‬
‫ﻪُ َﻻ ﻳـُ ْﻔﻠِ ُﺢ‬‫ِﻪ إِﻧ‬‫ﳕَﺎ ِﺣ َﺴﺎﺑُﻪُ ِﻋْﻨ َﺪ َرﺑ‬‫آﺧَﺮ َﻻ ﺑـُْﺮَﻫﺎ َن ﻟَﻪُ ﺑِِﻪ ﻓَِﺈ‬ ِ
َ ‫ﻪ إِ َﳍًﺎ‬‫َوَﻣ ْﻦ ﻳَ ْﺪعُ َﻣ َﻊ اﻟﻠ‬
‫اﻟْ َﻜﺎﻓُِﺮو َن‬
ِِ ِ  ‫وﻗُﻞ ر‬
‫ﲔ‬
َ ‫ﺮاﲪ‬ ‫ﺖ َﺧ ْﲑُ اﻟ‬ َ ْ‫ب ا ْﻏﻔ ْﺮ َو ْار َﺣ ْﻢ َوأَﻧ‬ َْ َ
Did you then think that We had created you in jest, and that you would not be
brought back to Us (for account)?"

Then, exalted be Allah, the King, the Reality: there is no god but He, the Lord of the
Throne of Honour!

If anyone invokes, besides Allah, Any other god, he has no authority therefore; and
his reckoning will be only with his Lord! and verily the Unbelievers will fail to win
through!

So say: "O my Lord! grant Thou forgiveness and mercy for Thou art the Best of those
who show mercy!"
Surah Al Mu’minun (23) verses 115-118

Ibn Masud recited the above in the ear of an afflicted person and the man was cured.
The Prophet said, 'What did you recite in his ear?'. Ibn Masud told him, and the
Prophet said, 'By He in Whose hand lies my soul, Were a believing man to recite it over
a mountain, it would have melted'.

(51) Supplication through the six verses of Shifaa’ (healing)

There are six verses in the Quran that have the word shifa’ (healing). These six verses
are usually recited for healing to oneself and to others:

‫ﲔ‬ ِِ ٍ ِ
َ ‫ﺻ ُﺪ َور ﻗَـ ْﻮم ُﻣ ْﺆﻣﻨ‬
ُ ‫َوﻳَ ْﺸﻒ‬
And heal the breasts of the Believers
Surah At-Tauba (9), verse 14

 ‫ ُﻜ ْﻢ َو ِﺷ َﻔﺎءٌ ﻟِ َﻤﺎ ِﰲ اﻟ‬‫ﺎس ﻗَ ْﺪ َﺟﺎءَﺗْ ُﻜ ْﻢ َﻣ ْﻮ ِﻋﻈَﺔٌ ِﻣ ْﻦ َرﺑ‬


‫ﺼ ُﺪوِر َو ُﻫ ًﺪى‬ ُ ‫ َﻬﺎ اﻟﻨ‬‫ﻳَﺎ أَﻳـ‬
‫ﲔ‬ ِِ ِ
َ ‫َوَر ْﲪَﺔٌ ﻟ ْﻠ ُﻤ ْﺆﻣﻨ‬
O mankind! there hath come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the
(diseases) in your hearts, a guidance and a mercy, for believers.
Surah Yunus (10), verse 57

‫اب‬ ِ ِ ِ ِ َ‫ات ﻓ‬ِ ‫ﻤﺮ‬‫ﻞ اﻟﺜ‬ ‫ ُﻛﻠِﻲ ِﻣﻦ ُﻛ‬ُ‫ﰒ‬


ٌ ‫َﺎ َﺷَﺮ‬‫ﻚ ذُﻟًُﻼ َﳜُْﺮ ُج ﻣ ْﻦ ﺑُﻄُﻮ‬‫ﺎﺳﻠُﻜﻲ ُﺳﺒُ َﻞ َرﺑ‬ ْ ََ ْ
‫ﻜُﺮو َن‬ ‫ﻚ َﻵﻳَﺔً ﻟَِﻘ ْﻮٍم ﻳَـﺘَـ َﻔ‬ ِ ِ ‫ﻒ أَﻟْ َﻮاﻧُﻪُ ﻓِ ِﻴﻪ ِﺷ َﻔﺎءٌ ﻟِﻠﻨ‬
َ ‫ن ِﰲ َذﻟ‬ ِ‫ﺎس إ‬
ِ
ٌ ‫ﳐُْﺘَﻠ‬
Then eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of
its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is
healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.
Surah An-Nahl (16), verse 69

‫ﻻ َﺧ َﺴ ًﺎرا‬ِ‫ﲔ إ‬ ِ ِ ُ ‫آن ﻣﺎ ﻫﻮ ِﺷ َﻔﺎء ور ْﲪﺔٌ ﻟِْﻠﻤ ْﺆِﻣﻨِﲔ وَﻻ ﻳ ِﺰ‬

َ ‫ﺎﻟﻤ‬‫ﻳﺪ اﻟﻈ‬ َ َ َ ُ َ َ َ ٌ َ ُ َ ‫ﺰُل ﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﻘ ْﺮ‬‫َوﻧـُﻨَـ‬
We send down (stage by stage) in the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy to
those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss.
Surah Al-Isra’ (17), verse 82

ِ ‫ﺖ ﻓَـ ُﻬﻮ ﻳَ ْﺸ ِﻔ‬
‫ﲔ‬ ْ ‫َوإِذَا َﻣ ِﺮ‬

And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me
Surah Ash-Shu’ara (26), verse 80

َ ‫ﺬ‬‫ُﻫ َﻮ ﻟﻠ‬
ٌ‫ﻳﻦ َآﻣﻨُﻮا ُﻫ ًﺪى َوﺷ َﻔﺎء‬
It is for those who believe, a guide and a healing
Surah Fussilat (41), verse 44

(52) Ruqya (healing) from Sunnah

‫ﻻ ِﺷ َﻔ ُﺎؤ َك‬ِ‫ َﻻ ِﺷ َﻔﺎءَ إ‬،‫ﺎﰲ‬


ِ ‫ﺖ اﻟﺸ‬ ِِ ِ ِ ‫ب اﻟﻨ‬  ‫ﻢ َر‬ ‫ ُﻬ‬‫اﻟﻠ‬،
َ ْ‫ﺐ اﻟﺒَﺄ‬
َ ْ‫ َوأَﻧ‬،‫س واﺷﻔﻪ‬ ْ ‫ أَ ْذﻫ‬،‫ﺎس‬
‫ِﺷ َﻔﺎءً َﻻ ﻳـُﻐَ ِﺎد ُر َﺳ َﻘ ًﻤﺎ‬
0 Allah, Lord of the people! Remove the trouble and heal him, for You are the
Healer. No healing but Yours; healing that will leave behind no ailment.

(53) Supplication to cool down heat and high fever

‫ﻴﻢ‬ ِ ‫ﻗُـ ْﻠﻨﺎ ﻳﺎ ﻧَﺎر ُﻛ ِﻮﱐ ﺑـﺮدا وﺳ َﻼﻣﺎ ﻋﻠَﻰ إِﺑـﺮ‬


‫اﻫ‬
َ َْ َ ً َ َ ً َْ ُ َ َ
We said, "O Fire! be thou cool, and (a means of) safety for Ibrahim!"
Surah Al-Anbiyaa’ (21), verse 69

(54) Supplication for protection from dogs (or other Wild Animals)

ِ ‫ﻂ ِذراﻋﻴ ِﻪ ﺑِﺎﻟْﻮ ِﺻ‬


‫ﻴﺪ‬ ِ
َ ْ َ َ ٌ ‫َوَﻛﻠْﺒُـ ُﻬ ْﻢ ﺑَﺎﺳ‬
their dog stretching forth his two fore-legs by the threshold
Surah Al-Kahfi (18), verse 18

(55) Supplication for subjugation of wild and/or poisonous animals

َ ‫ﻮح ِﰲ اﻟْ َﻌﺎﻟَﻤ‬
‫ﲔ‬ ٍ ُ‫َﺳ َﻼ ٌم َﻋﻠَﻰ ﻧ‬

Surah As-Saffat (37), verse 79.

(56) Supplication when mounting on a vehicle

ِ ِ
َ ‫ﺎ ﻟَﻪُ ُﻣ ْﻘ ِﺮﻧ‬‫ﺨَﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ َﻫ َﺬا َوَﻣﺎ ُﻛﻨ‬ ‫ﺬي َﺳ‬‫ُﺳْﺒ َﺤﺎ َن اﻟ‬
‫ﲔ‬
‫ﻨَﺎ ﻟَ ُﻤْﻨـ َﻘﻠِﺒُﻮ َن‬‫ﺎ إِ َﱃ َرﺑـ‬‫َوإِﻧ‬
Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have
accomplished this (by ourselves),

And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back


Surah Az Zukhruf (43), verses 13-14

(57) Supplication for safety in a vehicle (esp. ship or plane)

‫ﻴﻢ‬ ِ ‫ﰊ ﻟَﻐَ ُﻔ‬‫ن ر‬ ِ‫ِﻪ َْﳎﺮاﻫﺎ وﻣﺮﺳﺎﻫﺎ إ‬‫ﺑِﺴ ِﻢ اﻟﻠ‬


ٌ ‫ﻮر َرﺣ‬
ٌ َ َ َ ُْ َ َ َ ْ
In the name of Allah, whether it move or be at rest! For my Lord is, be sure, Oft-
Forgiving, Most Merciful
Surah Hud (11), verse 41

(58) Supplication for salvation in this world and the next

ِ ِ ِ
َ ‫ﺪﻧْـﻴَﺎ َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺔً َوِﰲ ْاﻵﺧَﺮِة َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺔً َوﻗﻨَﺎ َﻋ َﺬ‬ ‫ﻨَﺎ آﺗﻨَﺎ ِﰲ اﻟ‬‫َرﺑـ‬
‫ﺎ ِر‬‫اب اﻟﻨ‬
Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and defend us from
the torment of the Fire!
Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 201

(59) Supplication against worry, grief, senility, etc.

‫ َواﻟْ َﻌ ْﺠ ِﺰ َواﻟْ َﻜ َﺴ ِﻞ‬،‫ﻢ َوا ْﳊََﺰِن‬ َ‫ﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ ا ْﳍ‬َ ِ‫ﱐ أَﻋُﻮذُ ﺑ‬ ِ‫ﻢ إ‬ ‫ ُﻬ‬‫اﻟﻠ‬
‫ﺮ َﺟ ِﺎل‬‫ َو َﻏﻠَﺒَ ِﺔ اﻟ‬،‫ﻳْ ِﻦ‬‫ﺿﻠَ ِﻊ اﻟﺪ‬ ِ ْ ُ‫اﳉ‬
َ ‫ َو‬،‫ﱭ َواﻟْﺒُ ْﺨ ِﻞ‬ ْ ‫َو‬
O Allah! I seek refuge with You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness,
from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being
overpowered by (other) men!
Saheeh Bukhari 6369, Book 80

(60) Supplication for Hikmah (1)

‫ب اﻟْ َﻌ ْﺮ ِش اﻟْ َﻌ ِﻈﻴ ِﻢ‬ ِ


ُ ‫ﻛ ْﻠ‬‫ﻻ ُﻫ َﻮ َﻋﻠَْﻴﻪ ﺗَـ َﻮ‬ِ‫ﻪُ َﻻ إِﻟَﻪَ إ‬‫ﱯ اﻟﻠ‬
 ‫ﺖ َوُﻫ َﻮ َر‬ ِ
َ ‫َﺣ ْﺴ‬
(Allah) is sufficient for me: there is no god but He: On Him is my trust, He the Lord
of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme!
Surah At-Taubah (9), verse 129.

Best recited for acquiring hikmah. To be recited 7 times after obligatory solat, when
in rage and one is in need of respect from humans and animals alike.

(61) Supplication for Hikmah (2)

‫ود ا ْﳉِﺒَ َﺎل‬ ِ ‫ﻼ آﺗَـﻴـﻨَﺎ ﺣﻜ‬ ‫ﻬﻤﻨَﺎﻫﺎ ﺳﻠَﻴﻤﺎ َن وُﻛ‬ ‫ﻓَـ َﻔ‬
َ ‫ﺨ ْﺮﻧَﺎ َﻣ َﻊ َد ُاو‬ ‫ْﻤﺎ َوﻋ ْﻠ ًﻤﺎ َو َﺳ‬
ً ُ ْ َ َْ ُ َ ْ
ِِ
َ ‫ﺎ ﻓَﺎﻋﻠ‬‫ْ َﲑ َوُﻛﻨ‬‫ ْﺤ َﻦ َواﻟﻄ‬‫ﻳُ َﺴﺒ‬
‫ﲔ‬
We inspired Sulaiman the (right) understanding of the matter: to each (of them) We
gave Judgment and Knowledge; and We subjugated, for Daud, the hills; glorifying
Our praises; with the birds: and we were the doer7 (all these things).
Surah Al-‘Anbiyaa’ (21), verse 79.

(62) Supplication for love from others

ِ ‫ﺎل ﻳﻮﺳﻒ ِﻷَﺑِ ِﻴﻪ ﻳﺎ أَﺑ‬

‫ﺲ َواﻟْ َﻘ َﻤَﺮ‬

ْ ‫ﺸ‬ ‫اﻟ‬

َ ‫َرأَﻳْـﺘُـ ُﻬ ْﻢ ِﱄ َﺳﺎﺟﺪ‬
‫ﻳﻦ‬
When Yusuf said to his father, "O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven
stars/planets and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me."»
Surah Yusuf (12), verse 4.

‫ﺼﻨَ َﻊ َﻋﻠَﻰ َﻋْﻴ ِﲏ‬ ِ ِ


ْ ُ‫ﲏ َوﻟﺘ‬ ‫ﺔً ﻣ‬‫ﻚ َﳏَﺒ‬ ُ ‫َوأَﻟْ َﻘْﻴ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻋﻠَْﻴ‬
And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye
Surah Ta ha (20), verse 39.

(63) Supplication for subjugation of adversaries

‫ﺎب َﻣ ْﻦ َﲪَ َﻞ ﻇُْﻠ ًﻤﺎ‬ ‫ﺧ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻗ‬‫و‬ ِ ‫ﺖ اﻟْﻮﺟﻮﻩ ﻟِْﻠﺤﻲ اﻟْ َﻘﻴ‬
‫ﻮم‬ ِ
َ َ ْ َ َ  َ ُ ُ ُ َ‫َو َﻋﻨ‬
‫ﻀ ًﻤﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﺎف ﻇُْﻠ ًﻤﺎ َوَﻻ َﻫ‬ُ َ‫ﺎت َو ُﻫ َﻮ ُﻣ ْﺆِﻣ ٌﻦ ﻓَ َﻼ َﳜ‬
ِ ‫ﺎﳊ‬ ِ  ‫وﻣﻦ ﻳـﻌﻤﻞ ِﻣﻦ اﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺼ‬ َ ْ َ َْ ْ ََ
And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence.
And he will have failed who carries injustice
But he who does of righteous deeds while he is a believer - he will neither fear
injustice nor deprivation
Surah Ta ha (20), verses 111-112.

(64) Supplication to sharpen the eyes

‫ﺼ ُﺮَك اﻟﻴَـ ْﻮَم َﺣ ِﺪﻳ ٌﺪ‬ ِ َ ‫ﻓَ َﻜ َﺸ ْﻔﻨَﺎ ﻋْﻨ‬


َ َ‫ﻚ ﻏﻄَﺎءَ َك ﻓَـﺒ‬ َ
So, we removed from you, your veil so that your sight today is sharp

Surah Qaf (50), verse 22.

(65) Supplication for “Invisibility”

1. Recite the Throne verse


2. Recite the following

ٌ ‫ﻪُ ِﻣ ْﻦ َوَراﺋِ ِﻬ ْﻢ ُِﳏﻴ‬‫َواﻟﻠ‬


‫ﻂ‬
But Allah doth encompass them from behind!
Surah Buruuj (85), verse 20

3. and the following

ِ ‫ا ﻓَﺄَ ْﻏ َﺸﻴـﻨَﺎﻫﻢ ﻓَـﻬﻢ َﻻ ﻳـﺒ‬‫ا وِﻣﻦ ﺧ ْﻠ ِﻔ ِﻬﻢ ﺳﺪ‬‫ﲔ أَﻳ ِﺪﻳ ِﻬﻢ ﺳﺪ‬ ِ
‫ﺼ ُﺮو َن‬ ُْ ْ ُ ْ ُ ْ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ ْ ْ ِ َْ‫َو َﺟ َﻌ ْﻠﻨَﺎ ﻣ ْﻦ ﺑ‬
And We have put a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them, and
We have covered them up; so, they cannot see
Surah Yaa Seen (36), verse 9.

(66) Powerful dzikir

ِ ،‫ وِزﻧَﺔَ ﻋﺮ ِﺷ ِﻪ‬،‫ وِرﺿﺎ ﻧـَ ْﻔ ِﺴ ِﻪ‬،‫ ﻋ َﺪد ﺧ ْﻠ ِﻘ ِﻪ‬،ِ‫ﺳﺒﺤﺎ َن اﷲِ وِﲝﻤ ِﺪﻩ‬
‫وﻣ َﺪ َاد‬ َْ َ َ َ َ َ َْ َ َ ُْ
‫َﻛﻠِ َﻤﺘِ ِﻪ‬
Glory be to Allah and with His praise, by the number of his creatures, (in
accordance) and with his pleasure, and with the weight of his throne, and with the
count of His words

(67) Supplication for preparedness in war (the Four)

First:

ِِ ِ ‫ﱐ ُﻛْﻨ‬ ِ‫ﻚ إ‬
َ ‫ﺎﻟﻤ‬‫ﺖ ﻣ َﻦ اﻟﻈ‬
‫ﲔ‬ ُ َ ْ‫ﻻ أَﻧ‬ِ‫َﻻ إِﻟَﻪَ إ‬
َ َ‫ﺖ ُﺳْﺒ َﺤﺎﻧ‬
"There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed in the “darkness”
(wrong!)"
Surah Al-Anbiya’ (21), verse 87.

Second:

‫ﺐ َﻋﻠَﻰ أ َْﻣ ِﺮِﻩ‬ ِ


ٌ ‫ﻪُ َﻏﺎﻟ‬‫َواﻟﻠ‬
And Allah is predominant over his affair(s).
Surah Yusuf (12), verse 21.

Third:

ِ ٍ
َ ْ‫ﻻ أَﻧ‬ِ‫ﻞ َﺷﻲء إِ ٰﳍًﺎ َواﺣ ًﺪا َﻻ إِٰﻟﻪَ إ‬ ‫ﻮم ﻳَﺎإِ ٰﳍﻨَﺎ َوإِٰﻟﻪَ ُﻛ‬
‫ﺖ‬ ُ ‫ﻲ ﻳَﺎﻗَـﻴ‬ ‫ﺎﺣ‬
َ َ‫ﻳ‬
Oh the Ever-Living, Oh the Self-Subsisting, Oh our God, and the God of
everything, the one God, no god except You!
Ismu Allah Al’Azeem a/t/ Asif Ibn Barkhiya

Fourth:

‫ﻳَﺎ َذاا ْﳉَﻼَ ِل َواﻹ ْﻛَﺮِام‬


Oh the Possessor of glory & honour and majesty & generosity
Ismu Allah Al’Azeem a/t/ Imam Ghazali

(68) Possessing Ismu Allah Al-‘Azeem

First:

‫ﺼ َﻤ ُﺪ‬
 ‫َﺣ ُﺪ اﻟ‬ َ ْ‫ﻻ أَﻧ‬ِ‫ﺖ اﷲُ َﻻ إِٰﻟﻪَ إ‬
َ ‫ﺖ اﻷ‬ َ ْ‫ﻚ أَﻧ‬ َ ‫َﱐ أَ ْﺷ َﻬ ُﺪ أَﻧ‬ ‫ﻚ ﺑِﺄ‬ ْ ‫ﱐ أ‬ ِ‫ﻢ إ‬ ‫ ُﻬ‬‫اﻟﻠ‬
َ ُ‫َﺳﺄَﻟ‬
ِ
َ ‫ﺬي َﱂْ ﻳَﻠ ْﺪ َوَﱂْ ﻳـُ ْﻮﻟَ ْﺪ َوَﱂْ ﻳَ ُﻜ ْﻦ ﻟَﻪُ ُﻛ ُﻔ ًﻮا أ‬‫اﻟ‬
‫َﺣ ٌﺪ‬
Oh Allah, Indeed, I ask of you because I bear witness that you (only you) are
Allah, no God except you, the One, the Absolute, who neither begets nor is
begotten and there is nothing compared to Him
Ahaadeeth Ahmad 23654, Abu Daud 1495 and Tirmidzi 3812

Second:

ِ ‫ﺴ ٰﻤﻮ‬ ‫ﺎ ُن ﺑ ِﺪﻳﻊ اﻟ‬‫ﻻ أَﻧْﺖ اﻟْﻤﻨ‬ِ‫ﻚ اﳊﻤ َﺪ َﻻ إِٰﻟﻪ إ‬ ِ َ ُ‫َﺳﺄَﻟ‬


‫ات‬ ُ َ َ َ َ ْ َ َ َ‫ن ﻟ‬ َ‫ﻚ ﺑﺄ‬ ْ ‫ﱐ أ‬ ِ‫ﻢ إ‬ ‫ ُﻬ‬‫اﻟﻠ‬
ِ ِ
َ َ‫َرض ﻳَﺎ َذا اﳉَ َﻼل َوا ِﻹ ْﻛَﺮام ﻳ‬
ُ ‫ﻲ ﻳَﺎﻗَـﻴ‬ ‫ﺎﺣ‬
‫ﻮم‬ ِ ‫َواﻷ‬
Oh Allah, Indeed, I ask of you because for you is All praise, no God except
you, the One, the tremendous Giver, the Originator/Creator of the heavens and
the earth, Oh the Possessor of glory & honour and majesty & generosity, Oh
the Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting
Ahaadeeth Ahmad 12946, Abu Daud 1497 and An-Nasai 1308

Third (between these two verses of the Quran):

ُ ‫ﻲ اﻟ َﻘﻴ‬ َ‫ﻻ ُﻫ َﻮ اﳊ‬ِ‫اﷲُ َﻻ إِٰﻟﻪَ إ‬


‫ﻮم‬
Allah, No God except Him, the Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting

and

ُ ‫ﻲ اﻟ َﻘﻴ‬ َ‫ﻻ ُﻫ َﻮ اﳊ‬ِ‫اﱂ اﷲُ َﻻ إِٰﻟﻪَ إ‬


‫ﻮم‬
Alif Laam Meem, Allah, No God except Him, the Ever-living, the Self-
Subsisting
Hadeeth Ahmad 27611

Fourth:

‫ﺎب ِﰲ ُﺳﻮٍر ﺛََﻼ ٍث اﻟﺒَـ َﻘَﺮِة َواِۤل‬ ِِ ِ ِ ِ ‫اﺳﻢ‬


َ ‫ﺬي إِ َذا ُدﻋ َﻲ ﺑﻪ أ‬‫َﻋﻈَ ُﻢ اﻟ‬
َ ‫َﺟ‬ ْ ‫اﷲ اﻷ‬ ُْ
‫ِﻋ ْﻤَﺮا َن َو ٰﻃ ٰﻪ‬
Ismullah Al-A’zam is the one when it is called upon, he will be answered is in
the three surahs i.e. Al-Baqarah, Ali-Imran and Taha.
Hadeeth Ibn Majah 3988

Some claim that:


In Al-Baqarah, it is the beginning of ayat Al-Kursi:

ُ ‫ﻲ اﻟْ َﻘﻴ‬ َ‫ﻻ ُﻫ َﻮ ا ْﳊ‬ِ‫ﻪُ َﻻ إِﻟَﻪَ إ‬‫اﻟﻠ‬


‫ﻮم‬
Allah, No God except Him, the Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting

In Ali-Imran, it is in the second verse:

ُ ‫ﻲ اﻟْ َﻘﻴ‬ َ‫ﻻ ُﻫ َﻮ ا ْﳊ‬ِ‫ﻪُ َﻻ إِﻟَﻪَ إ‬‫اﻟﻠ‬


‫ﻮم‬
Allah, No God except Him, the Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting

In Taha, it is in verse 111:

‫ ِﻮم‬‫ﺤﻲ اﻟ َﻘﻴ‬ ِ
 ‫اﻟﻮ ُﺟﻮﻩُ ﻟ ْﻠ‬
ُ
ِ َ‫وﻋﻨ‬
‫ﺖ‬ ََ
And will be humbled the faces before the Ever-Linving, Self-Subsisting

(69) The Secret of Becoming (Kun)

First:

ُ ‫ﳕَﺎ ﻳَـ ُﻘ‬‫ﻀﻰ أ َْﻣًﺮا ﻓَِﺈ‬ ِ ‫ﺴﻤﺎو‬ ‫ﺑ ِﺪﻳﻊ اﻟ‬


‫ﻮل ﻟَﻪُ ُﻛ ْﻦ ﻓَـﻴَ ُﻜﻮ ُن‬ َ َ‫ض َوإِذَا ﻗ‬
ِ ‫ات َو ْاﻷ َْر‬ ََ ُ َ
Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only
says to it, "Be," and it is
Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 117
Second:

ِ ِ‫َﱏ ﻳ ُﻜﻮ ُن ِﱄ وﻟَ ٌﺪ وَﱂ ﳝَْﺴﺴ ِﲏ ﺑ َﺸﺮ ﻗَ َﺎل َﻛ َﺬﻟ‬


‫ﻪُ َﳜْﻠُ ُﻖ َﻣﺎ‬‫ﻚ اﻟﻠ‬ ٌ َ ْ َ َْ َ َ ‫ب أ‬  ‫ﺖ َر‬ْ َ‫ﻗَﺎﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﳕَﺎ ﻳَـ ُﻘ‬‫ﻀﻰ أ َْﻣًﺮا ﻓَِﺈ‬
‫ﻮل ﻟَﻪُ ُﻛ ْﻦ ﻓَـﻴَ ُﻜﻮ ُن‬ َ َ‫ﻳَ َﺸﺎءُ إِ َذا ﻗ‬
She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?"
[The angel] said, "Such is Allah; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a
matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is
Surah Ali-Imran (3), verse 47
Third:

ٍ ‫آدم َﺧﻠَ َﻘﻪُ ِﻣﻦ ﺗـُﺮ‬ ِ ِ ِ ِ


‫ﺎل ﻟَﻪُ ُﻛ ْﻦ‬
َ َ‫ ﻗ‬ُ‫اب ﰒ‬َ ْ َ َ ‫ﻪ َﻛ َﻤﺜَ ِﻞ‬‫ﻴﺴﻰ ﻋْﻨ َﺪ اﻟﻠ‬
َ ‫ن َﻣﺜَ َﻞ ﻋ‬ ‫إ‬
‫ﻓَـﻴَ ُﻜﻮ ُن‬
Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him
from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was
Surah Ali-Imran (3), verse 59
Fourth:

‫ﻖ‬ َ‫ض ﺑِﺎ ْﳊ‬ ِ ِ


‫ﻮل ُﻛ ْﻦ ﻓَـﻴَ ُﻜﻮ ُن‬
ُ ‫َوﻳَـ ْﻮَم ﻳَـ ُﻘ‬ َ ‫ﺴ َﻤ َﺎوات َو ْاﻷ َْر‬ ‫ﺬي َﺧﻠَ َﻖ اﻟ‬‫َوُﻫ َﻮ اﻟ‬
‫ﻬ َﺎد ِة‬ ِ‫ﻋ‬
ِ ‫ﺎﱂُ اﻟْﻐَْﻴ‬ ‫ﺼﻮِر‬  ‫ﻚ ﻳَـ ْﻮَم ﻳـُْﻨـ َﻔ ُﺦ ِﰲ اﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺐ َواﻟﺸ‬ َ ُ ‫ﻖ َوﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﻠ‬ َ‫ﻗَـ ْﻮﻟُﻪُ ا ْﳊ‬
ِ ‫و ُﻫﻮ ا ْﳊَ ِﻜ‬
ُ‫ﻴﻢ ا ْﳋَﺒﲑ‬ ُ َ َ
And it is He who created the heavens and earth in truth. And the day He says,
"Be," and it is, His word is the truth. And His is the dominion [on] the Day the
Horn is blown. [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed; and He is the
Wise, the Acquainted
Surah Al-An’am (6), verse 73

Fifth:

َ ‫ﳕَﺎ ﻗَـ ْﻮﻟُﻨَﺎ ﻟِ َﺸ ْﻲ ٍء إِ َذا أ ََرْدﻧَﺎﻩُ أَ ْن ﻧَـ ُﻘ‬ِ‫إ‬


‫ﻮل ﻟَﻪُ ُﻛ ْﻦ ﻓَـﻴَ ُﻜﻮ ُن‬
Indeed, Our word to a thing when We intend it is but that We say to it, "Be,"
and it is
Surah An-Nahl (16), verse 40

Sixth:

ُ ‫ﳕَﺎ ﻳَـ ُﻘ‬‫ﻀﻰ أ َْﻣًﺮا ﻓَِﺈ‬ ٍ ِ ِ ِِ


‫ﻮل ﻟَﻪُ ُﻛ ْﻦ‬ َ َ‫ﺨ َﺬ ﻣ ْﻦ َوﻟَﺪ ُﺳْﺒ َﺤﺎﻧَﻪُ إِ َذا ﻗ‬‫ﻪ أَ ْن ﻳَـﺘ‬‫َﻣﺎ َﻛﺎ َن ﻟﻠ‬
‫ﻓَـﻴَ ُﻜﻮ ُن‬
It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an
affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is
Surah Maryam (19), verse 35

Seventh:

َ ‫ﳕَﺎ أ َْﻣ ُﺮﻩُ إِذَا أ ََر َاد َﺷْﻴﺌًﺎ أَ ْن ﻳَـ ُﻘ‬ِ‫إ‬


‫ﻮل ﻟَﻪُ ُﻛ ْﻦ ﻓَـﻴَ ُﻜﻮ ُن‬
His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it
is
Surah Yaa Seen (36), verse 82

Eighth:

ُ ‫ﳕَﺎ ﻳَـ ُﻘ‬‫ﻀﻰ أ َْﻣًﺮا ﻓَِﺈ‬ ِ ِ


‫ﻮل ﻟَﻪُ ُﻛ ْﻦ ﻓَـﻴَ ُﻜﻮ ُن‬ َ َ‫ﻴﺖ ﻓَِﺈ َذا ﻗ‬
ُ ‫ﺬي ُْﳛﻴِﻲ َوُﳝ‬‫ُﻫ َﻮ اﻟ‬
He it is who gives life and causes death; and when He decrees a matter, He but
says to it, "Be," and it is
Surah al-Ghaafir (40), verse 68

(70) May Allah accept our supplications and prayers

‫ﻴﻢ‬ِ‫ﺴ ِﻤﻴﻊ اﻟْﻌﻠ‬ ‫ﻚ أَﻧْﺖ اﻟ‬‫ﺎ إِﻧ‬‫ﻞ ِﻣﻨ‬‫ﻨﺎ ﺗَـ َﻘﺒ‬‫رﺑـ‬


ُ َ ُ َ َ ْ ََ
Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing
Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 127.

ِ ‫و ِﻋْﻨ َﺪﻩُ َﻣ َﻔﺎﺗِﺢ اﻟْﻐَْﻴ‬


ُ ‫ﱪ َواﻟْﺒَ ْﺤ ِﺮ َوَﻣﺎ ﺗَ ْﺴ ُﻘ‬َْ‫ﻻ ُﻫ َﻮ َوﻳَـ ْﻌﻠَ ُﻢ َﻣﺎ ِﰲ اﻟ‬ِ‫ﺐ َﻻ ﻳَـ ْﻌﻠَ ُﻤ َﻬﺎ إ‬
‫ﻂ‬ ُ َ
‫ﻻ ِﰲ‬ِ‫ﺲ إ‬ ٍ ِ‫ﺐ َوَﻻ ﻳَﺎﺑ‬ ٍ ْ‫ض وَﻻ رﻃ‬ ِ ‫َر‬ ‫اﻷ‬ ْ ِ ‫ٍﺔ ِﰲ ﻇُﻠُﻤ‬‫ﻻ ﻳـﻌﻠَﻤﻬﺎ وَﻻ ﺣﺒ‬ِ‫ِﻣﻦ ورﻗٍَﺔ إ‬
‫ﺎت‬
َ َ ْ َ َ َ َُ َْ ََ ْ
ٍ ِ‫ﺎب ُﻣﺒ‬
‫ﲔ‬ ٍ َ‫ﻛِﺘ‬
With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knows but He. He
knows whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with
His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor
anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear
Surah Al-An’am (6), verse 59.

and we shall soon return to him:

‫ﺎ إِﻟَْﻴ ِﻪ َر ِاﺟﻌُﻮ َن‬‫ ِﻪ َوإِﻧ‬‫ﺎ ﻟِﻠ‬‫إِﻧ‬


To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return
Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 156.
