Network
10.0.0.0/24 Now that we have a cluster configured we need
to make sure we have proper access to manage
the cluster or each individual device.
Possible Scenarios

We have two ways of managing the cluster.

1. Managing the whole cluster as one logical device using
fxp0 or Reth interface.
2. Configure individual devices to have their own
management IPs on the fxp0 interfaces.
Managing the whole cluster as one
⬜ Configure everything on the primary node, and all changes will
be propagated to the secondary node on commit. Configuring
this way will give 1 logical IP to manage your cluster.
■ primary# set interfaces fxp0 unit 0 family inet address 10.0.0.1/24
■ primary# set system host-name srx-cluster
■ primary# set system services ssh

Note: fxp0 interface does not need to be in a security zone.

SSH to 10.0.0.1 you will be forwarded to the current primary
node.
Managing the whole cluster as one
⬜ Also you could do:
■ primary# set system services web-management https
system-generated-certificate
■ primary# set system services web-management https interface fxp0.0
This will allow you to manage the cluster from a web interface.
Managing individual nodes
⬜ Configure individual nodes with their own management IP on the fxp0
interface.
■ primary# set groups node0 system host-name SRX-primary
■ primary# set groups node0 interfaces fxp0 unit 0 family inet address 10.0.0.1/24
■ primary# set groups node0 system services ssh
■ primary# set groups node1 system host-name SRX-secondary
■ primary# set groups node1 interfaces fxp0 unit 0 family inet address 10.0.0.2/24
■ primary# set groups node1 system services ssh
■ primary# set apply-groups "${node}"
■ primary# commit
Verify Cluster Management

⬜ Confirm SSH access to cluster/individual devices.

⬜ Confirm access to web management.
⬜ Review the configuration generated.
