RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES
3.1 Introduction
This chapter establishes conclusions based on outcomes of the study and in accordance with
the research architectural goals and objectives established in the chapter one. This research
methodologies use in determining the strategies to integrate the latest advancement and
efficient design of Emergency Department and assimilate a Modern Design that focuses on
the human connection between nature and built environment of Trauma center and also to
establish an affordable healthcare center throughout the region.
The practice of integrating nature and natural environments into the built environment
has been proven to significantly reduce stress, accelerate healing, improve cognitive
function and creativity. And this transforms to increased productivity, healthcare cost
savings, and reduced turnover.
Biophilia could also help explain on why some urban parks and buildings are ideal
over others. It articulates the relations between nature, science, and to the built
environment to experience the human benefits of biophilia in design applications.
Principles and Benefits of Biophilic Design
These principles represent fundamental conditions for the effective practice of biophilic
design:
1. Biophilic design requires repeated and sustained engagement with nature.
2. Biophilic design focuses on human adaptations to the natural world that over
evolutionary time have advanced people’s health, fitness and wellbeing.
3. Biophilic design encourages an emotional attachment to particular settings and
places.
4. Biophilic design promotes positive interactions between people and nature that
encourage an expanded sense of relationship and responsibility for the human
and natural communities.
5. Biophilic design encourages mutual reinforcing, interconnected, and integrated
architectural solutions.
1. Nature in Space – means a direct contact with environment and natural systems.
2. Natural Analogues – patterns that relate to the representation and abstraction of
nature.
3. Nature of the Space – it is the spatial conditions derived from nature.
