Melitus demands greater economic, social, and psychological sacrifice from the family. The
inability of the family to carry out five family health tasks for people with DM can be caused
by several factors, including family knowledge and family social economy. The family has an
important role in the care of family members who suffer from diabetes mellitus. This is very
much related to family health duties. To determine the relationship of individual and family
factors to family health tasks that have been carried out on families of people with Diabetes
Mellitus at the Driyorejo Gresik Community Health Center working area.

done by non probability sampling with cluster sampling method and obtained a sample of 67
respondents. Independent variables are individual and family factors while the dependent
variable is family health tasks. Research instruments for individual factors were age, sex,
education, occupation and duration of suffering from diabetes mellitus. The instruments of
family factors are type, structure, stage of development, family socio-economic status and
family knowledge level. Analysis data with Spearman Rank test.
Result : The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between individual
factors consisting of age and education with the health assignments of families with diabetes
mellitus patients. The results also indicate that there is a relationship between family factors
consisting of income and the level of family knowledge with the family health duties of
people with Diabetes Mellitus. Spearman rank test results obtained p-value of 0.003 <0.05 at
age, 0.013 <0.05 in education, 0.001 <0.05 on income and 0.001 <0.05 at the level of
