Light Offering Prayer

མར་་ོད་་ོང་གམ་ི་ོང་ན་པོ་འག་ེན་ཁམས་ི་ར་ག་དང་མཉམ་པར་ར་ག །
marmé nö ni tongsum gyi tongchenpo jikten kham kyi khoryuk dang nyampar gyur
chik
May this vessel become as vast as the entire billionfold universe!

ོང་་་་ལ་པོ་་རབ་ཙམ་་ར་ག །
dongbu ni ri gyalpo rirab tsam du gyur chik
May its wick grow as large as Sumeru, the king of mountains!

མར་་་མཐ་་མཚོ་ཙམ་་ར་ག །
markhu ni té gyatso tsam du gyur chik
May the oil within become as vast as the great ocean at the edge of the world!

ངས་་སངས་ས་་་མན་་ང་ར་་་འང་བར་ར་ག །
drang ni sangye reré dündu dungchur reré jungwar gyur chik
And may a billion such lamps appear before each and every buddha!

འོད་ིས་ིད་པ་ེ་མོ་མན་ཆད་ནས།
ö kyi sipé tsemo menché né
Their light banishing the darkness of ignorance everywhere,

མནར་ད་པ་དལ་བ་ཡན་ཆད་ི་མ་ག་པ་ན་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་བསལ་ནས་ོགས་བ་སངས་
ས་དང་ང་བ་མས་དཔ་ང་ཁམས་ཐམས་ཅད་མན་མ་་མཐོང་ང་གསལ་བར་ར་
ག །
narmé pé nyalwa yenché kyi marikpé münpa tamché sal né chok chü sangye dang
changchub sempé shyingkham tamché ngönsum du tong shying salwar gyur chik
From the very peak of existence down to the lowest hell, may they reveal all the realms of
buddhas and bodhisattvas throughout the ten directions!

ༀ་བ་ཨ་ལོ་་ཿྃ།
om vajra aloké ah hung
oṃ vajrāloke āḥ hūṃ

་མ་ཧོ། ་མཚར་ད་ང་ང་གསལ་ོན་་འ། །
emaho ngotsar mejung nangsal drönmé di
Emaho! This wondrous and amazing light, burning brightly,

བལ་བཟང་སངས་ས་ོང་་ལ་སོགས་པ། ། 2
བལ་བཟང་སངས་ས་ོང་་ལ་སོགས་པ། །
kalzang sangye tong tsa lasokpé
I offer to the thousand buddhas of this fortunate age,

རབ་འམས་ོགས་བ་ང་ཁམས་མ་ས་པ། །
rabjam chok chü shyingkham malüpé
Gurus, yidam deities, ḍākinīs and dharmapālas,

་མ་་དམ་མཁའ་འོ་ས་ོང་དང་། །
lama yidam khandro chökyong dang
And the deities of all the maṇḍalas,

དིལ་འར་་ཚོགས་མས་ལ་འལ་བར་བི། །
kyilkhor lhatsok nam la bulwar gyi
In all the infinite realms of the ten directions.

ཕ་མས་གཙོ་ས་མས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་ི། །
pamé tso jé semchen tamché kyi
May all beings, with my own parents foremost among them,

་རབས་འ་དང་ེ་གནས་ཐམས་ཅད་། །
tserab di dang kyené tamché du
In this and in all lives to come, whatever our place of birth,

ོགས་སངས་ས་པ་ང་ཁམས་མན་མཐོང་ནས། །
dzoksang gyepé shyingkham ngön tong né
Always see directly the perfect buddhas’ realms,

འོད་དཔག་ད་མན་ད་དང་དེར་ད་ཤོག །
öpakmé gön nyi dang yermé shok
And remain forever inseparable from Amitābha, ‘Lord of Boundless Light’—

དན་མག་གམ་དང་་གམ་་ཚོགས་ི། །
könchok sum dang tsa sum lhatsok kyi
Grant your blessings so that, through the power of the truth

བན་པ་མ་ས་ོན་ལམ་འ་བཏབ་ེ། །
denpé tu yi mönlam di tab té
Of the Buddha, Dharma and Saṅgha, and the deities of the Three Roots,

ར་་འབ་པར་ིན་ིས་བབ་་གསོལ། །
nyurdu drubpar jingyi lab tu sol
This prayer of aspiration may swiftly be fulfilled!

ཏ ་། པི་ཡ་་བ་བོ་་ན་་་། 3
ཏ ་། པི་ཡ་་བ་བོ་་ན་་་།
teyatha | pentsadriya avabodhanaye soha
tadyathā pañcendriyāvabodhanīye svāhā

ས་་བོ་ེ་དཔལ་ན་ཨ་་ཤས་དས་གཙང་་མད་ཁང་མས་ལ་དཔོན་ོབ་བ་བད་ཙམ་ིས་ར་འདོན་མཛད་
ས་གས་སོ།། །།
It is said that the precious Lord, glorious Atiśa, and seventeen of his disciples would chant this in unison as they
made offerings in the shrines of Ü and Tsang.

༄༅། །ཚོགས་མད་ིན་བས་ཆར་འབས་ལས་མར་་ོན་ལམ་བགས། །

Lamp Aspiration Prayer (from the Tsok Offering 'A Rain of Blessings')
by The Fourteenth Karmapa, Tekchok Dorje

ༀ་བ་ས་སོགས་ག་བ་བོད། །ེས་་མད་མ་མས་ི་མར་་ཐོགས་ོན་ལམ་འ་མིན་གག་་བཏབ་
བོ། །
Recite the hundred-syllable mantra, oṃ vajra sattva... etc. Then the assembled vajra brothers and sisters should
hold lamps and recite the following with a single voice:

ༀ་ཿྃ།
om ah hung
Oṃ āḥ hūṃ

བ་ན་བ་བ་དིལ་འར་དམ་པ་འ། །
dechen dewé kyilkhor dampa di
In this joyous and sacred maṇḍala of great bliss,

བདག་སོགས་ོ་ོན་བཟང་པོས་ལས་འེལ་བ། །
dak sok ngo mön zangpö lé drelwé
We are all connected through noble aspirations from the past,

ོ་ེ་མད་མ་འར་ཚོགས་ཐམས་ཅད་ིས། །
dorje ché cham dir tsok tamché kyi
As vajra brothers and sisters, all gathered for the feast,

དས་འོར་མད་ིན་བཟང་པོ་གས་བཤམས་ང༌། །
ngö jor chö trin zangpo lek sham shing
With gifts, perfectly arranged as offering clouds,

ག་བསམ་མོས་ོས་་ར་ེལ་ས་ནས། །
lhak sam mö lö gya cher pel ché né
Multiplied and made vast through positive intent and imagination,

བསོད་ནམས་་ས་ཚོགས་ན་རབ་བསགས་། །
sönam yeshe tsok chen rab sak té
To gather perfectly vast stores of merit and wisdom.

ོན་ལམ་འ་མས་མ་འོང་ི་མ་ས། །
mönlam di tü ma ong chimé dü
Through the power of this aspiration, when, in the future,

བར་དོ་འལ་ང་བསམ་འདས་མཐོང་བ་། ། 5
བར་དོ་འལ་ང་བསམ་འདས་མཐོང་བ་། །
bardö trul nang sam dé tongwé tsé
We see the delusory appearances of the bardo, beyond imagining,

དིངས་ག་འོད་གསལ་མ་་་འོད་ནས། །
ying rik ösel ma bu ngo trö né
May mother and child luminosities of space and awareness unite,

དངངས་ག་འགས་པ་ལ་བ་འོད་ལམ་ལ། །
ngang trak jikpa dralwé ö lam la
And on the path of light with its terrifying sights and sounds,

བམ་ན་འོད་དཔག་ད་ིས་མན་ནས་བས། །
chomden ö pak mé kyi dün né sü
May the Buddha Amitābha, “Boundless Light”, lead the way,

ང་མས་འར་ཚོགས་་མཚོས་བ་ནས་ོར། །
chang sem khor tsok gyatsö gyab né kyor
As a vast retinue of bodhisattvas support us from behind.

འགས་ང་འར་བ་གཡང་ས་ལས་ོལ་ནས། །
jik rung khorwé yang sa lam drol né
Then, saved from saṃsāra's terrible abyss,

བ་ན་པོ་བད་པ་ང་ཁམས་། །
dechen pémo köpé shying kham su
May we be reborn in the heart of a lotus flower,

པ་ིང་པོར་འངས་ང་སངས་ས་མཇལ། །
pémé nyingpor trung shing sangyé jel
In the blissful land of Lotus Array, there to meet the buddhas,

དམ་པ་ས་ཐོབ་ས་ལམ་མཐར་ིན་ནས། །
dampé chö tob sa lam tar chin né
Receive the sacred Dharma, and complete the paths and stages.

ོགས་སངས་ས་ཐོབ་མཁའ་མཉམ་མས་ཅན་ན། །
dzok sangyé tob kha nyam sem chen kün
Once perfectly awakened, may we become great guides,

ང་ན་བ་ནས་བ་བར་འད་ས་པ། །
ring min dé né dewar gö nüpé
Capable of leading all beings, as infinite as space,

ད་དཔོན་ན་པོར་བདག་ད་འར་བར་ཤོག ། 6
ད་དཔོན་ན་པོར་བདག་ད་འར་བར་ཤོག །
depön chenpor daknyi gyurwar shok
Swiftly, from one blissful state to another.

ས་རབ་་ས་གསལ་བ་ོན་་འས། །
sherab yeshe salwé drönmé di
May this lamp of discerning and primordial wisdom

ལས་ན་ིབ་གས་ན་པ་རབ་གསལ་ང༌། །
lé nyön drip nyi münpa rab sel shying
Banish entirely the darkness of karmic and emotional veils,

ཡང་དག་ལམ་ི་ང་བ་ར་ས་ནས། །
yang dak lam gyi nangwa cher gyé né
Greatly enhance the light of the pure, authentic path,

གཏན་བ་ལ་སར་འད་པ་ོན་ར་ཤོག །
ten dé gyalsar göpé drönmer shok
And illuminate the way to the kingdom of everlasting bliss.

ས་ོན་ལམ་བཏབ་ནས་མར་་མས་མད་ལ་ི་མན་་འལ་བར་འོ། །
When you have made this prayer of aspiration, offer the lamp to the recipients in front.

ས་༧ཀ་པ་བ་བ་པས་འོག་ན་མར་་གདན་ས་ན་པོར་ར་བའོ།།

An Ocean of Offering Clouds: A Light Offering Prayer

ན་ན་དང་པོ་ང་་། །
rin chen dangpö kongbu ni
This lamp, made of the finest precious metal,

ོང་གམ་ོན་དང་མཉམ་པ་ནང་། །
tong sum khyön dang nyampé nang
Is as vast as the entire billionfold universe.

ི་མར་བད་ིས་ཡོངས་བཀང་བ། །
tsi mar chü kyi yong kangwé
It is filled completely with refined essence of butter,

དིལ་་ོང་་་རབ་ཙམ། །
kyil du dongbu ri rab tsam
And in its centre is planted a wick as large as Mount Meru,

བགས་ལ་ར་བ་་ེ་། །
tsuk la parwé mé ché yi
Set alight, to produce tongues of flame,

་བོ་་ས་་ན་ལ། །
ngowo yeshé nga den la
Which are in essence the five wisdoms,

མ་པ་་མ་ང་ར་ི། །
nampa nyima dungchur gyi
And, in appearance, blaze with the dazzling splendour

ག་བིད་འབར་བ་མར་་འས། །
ziji barwé marmé di
Of a hundred million brightest suns.

ོགས་བ་ནམ་མཁ་ཁམས་ན་བ། །
chok chu namkhé kham kun khyab
This light pervades every realm in all the ten directions.

འོད་ི་ོང་ནས་ན་བཟང་ །
ö kyi long né kun zang gi
And out of its radiant expanse,

མད་ིན་་མཚོ་ིན་འོ་བ། ། 8
མད་ིན་་མཚོ་ིན་འོ་བ། །
chö trin gyatsöi trin trowa
Emanate offering-clouds, like Samantabhadra’s,

ིད་མཐ་བར་་ག་མད་པས། །
si té bar du tak chöpé
To make gifts throughout eternity, until the very ends of time,

བདག་དང་བདག་ལ་འེལ་ཐོགས་ི། །
dak dang dak la drel tok kyi
So that I and all those connected to me,

དགས་ལ་གན་གསོན་་མས་པ། །
mik yul shin sön chi chipé
The objects of my prayers, be they living or dead,

ཚོགས་གས་ོགས་ང་ིབ་གས་ངས། །
tsok nyi dzok shing drip nyi jang
Gather the two accumulations, purify the two kinds of obscuration,

་ད་ང་བ་ར་ཐོབ་ཤོག །
lamé changchub nyur tob shok
And swiftly attain unsurpassable awakening.

Aspiration for Electric Lamps

nyidé ö tar sal la münsel shying
Bright like the light of the sun and the moon,

གས་པ་ི་དང་་བས་བོགས་པ་ད། །
tsikpé dri dang duwé nokpa mé
Dispelling darkness without burning smells or smoke,

གཙང་ང་ད་འོང་ོག་་ོན་་འ། །
tsang shying yi ong lok gi drönmé di
This electric lamp, so clean and charming,

ལ་བ་ས་དང་བཅས་ལ་ས་པས་འལ། །
gyalwa sé dangché la güpé bul
I offer with respect to the buddhas and their heirs.

ོང་གསལ་ས་དིངས་མཁའ་ལས་ང་པ་། །
tong sal chöying kha lé jungpa yi
Within the expanse of dharmadhātu, empty and clear,

ངས་གསལ་མ་འེས་་ས་འོད་འབར་བ། །
dang sal ma dré yeshe ö bar wa
The light of wisdom blazes forth, undiluted and pure.

ང་འན་འལ་ིས་བག་པ་ོག་འོད་འས། །
tingdzin trul gyi kukpé lok ö di
May this electric light, conjured by the mystery of samādhi,

མ་ག་འར་བ་་བ་གཞོམ་ར་ག །
marik khorwé tsawa shyom gyur chik
Vanquish all ignorance, the root of cyclic existence.

ས་ོག་བཟོ་ོན་་འལ་ེད་ོན་ག་། ༧ང་ཐང་བན་པ་དབང་ག་་འབོད་པ་ིས་པ་ད།

ནམ་མཁ་མཐར་ག་ང་ཁམས་རབ་འམས་ན། །
namkhé tartuk shying kham rabjam na
In all the infinite realms throughout the far reaches of the universe,

དན་མག་ན་ན་མ་གམ་ེན་དང་བཅས། །
könchok rinchen nam sum ten dang ché
May the precious Three Jewels together with their representations,

བསོད་ནམས་བསགས་པ་ང་མག་བགས་སོ་འཚལ། །
sönam sakpé shying chok shyuk so tsal
Be present as a supreme field for the accumulation of merit—

མ་ས་་དག་ན་ི་ན་ལམ་། །
malü dé dak kun gyi chenlam du
Before you all, in your very presence,

ང་གསལ་མར་་མད་པ་འ་འལ་བས། །
nang sal marmé chöpa di bulwé
I make this offering of a lamp of brilliant light:

བདག་དང་མཐའ་ཡས་མས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་ི། །
dak dang tayé semchen tamché kyi
Through this, for me and all other beings, infinite in number,

མ་ག་ག་ག་ན་པ་ན་བསལ་ནས། །
ma rik timuk münpa kun sel né
May the darkness of ignorance and delusion be banished entirely,

ན་མེན་་ས་ང་བ་མཐོང་བར་ཤོག །
künkhyen yeshe nangwa tongwar shok
So that we may behold the light of omniscient wisdom!

མར་་ོན་ལམ་ང་་འ་་པ་བས་སོ།།

Wherever awareness pervades, may all mother-like sentient beings,

Marmé Mönlam: The Light Offering Prayer

ོ་ེ་ོབ་དཔོན་ི་མན་་གས་མ་མས་ན་ིས་ས་ང་ཐོད་ཆང་ཐོགས་མད་མ་མས་ི་ལག་་མར་་དང་
ོས་ི་ང་་ཐོགས་༔ ད་གས་་ཚོམ་ད་པར་ོ་ེ་ལ་པོ་ཡབ་མ་མས༔ འཕགས་པ་མ་ག་ན་ལ་
མན་མ་་བོམ་ང་༔ མོས་ས་ི་གང་གས་བེད་༔ དངས་ན་པོས་འ་ད་དོ༔
In front of the vajra master, are the ‘suitable disciples’, wearing ornaments and holding kapāla with amṛta. The
vajra brothers and sisters each hold a lamp and stick of incense in their hands. Without any doubt in your mind,
consider you are actually in the presence of the Vajra Sovereigns and their consorts, and the Noble One who Dispels
the Darkness of Ignorance, and arousing deep devotion, recite this in a melodious chant:

ྃ༔ ས་གམ་ལ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་བགས་པ་གནས༔
hung, dü sum gyalwa tamché shyukpé né
Hūṃ! You who embody all the buddhas of past, present and future,

མ་ག་ན་ལ་འཕགས་པ་་ཚོགས་དང༌༔
marik mün sel pakpé lhatsok dang
Noble One who Dispels the Darkness of Ignorance, with all your deities,

ོན་པ་ོ་ེ་ལ་པོ་ཡབ་མ་མས༔
tönpa dorjé gyalpo yabyum nam
Master, vajra sovereigns and your consorts,

མད་དང་མ་ལ་འས་པ་་མཚོ་ཚོགས༔
ché dang chamdral düpa gyatsö tsok
Vast, ocean-like gathering of brothers and sisters:

མ་ས་ཐམས་ཅད་བདག་ལ་བེར་དངས་ནས༔
malü tamché dak la tser gong né
All of you, without exception, look upon us with your love, and

ང་བ་མག་་དིལ་འར་འར་གས་༔
changchub chok gi kyilkhor dir shyuk té
Remaining here in this maṇḍala of supreme enlightenment,

བདག་་ོན་ལམ་འབ་པ་དཔང་པོར་མཛོད༔
dak gi mönlam drubpé pangpor dzö
Bear witness to the accomplishment of our aspirations and prayers!

ོ་ེ་ལ་པོ་སངས་ས་འས་པ་དཔལ༔ 14
ོ་ེ་ལ་པོ་སངས་ས་འས་པ་དཔལ༔
dorjé gyalpo sangye düpé pal
Vajra Sovereigns, glorious embodiments of all buddhas,

ལ་བ་མ་མག་ལ་བ་བེད་པ་མ༔
gyalwé yum chok gyalwa kyepé yum
Supreme consorts of the buddhas, the mothers who give birth to the buddhas,

གས་ལ་ལ་ས་ང་མས་བན་པ་བཙས༔
tuktrul gyalsé changsem tenpé tsé
Emanations of their wisdom mind, sons of the buddhas, holders of the teaching of the
awakened mind of bodhicitta,

མད་མ་དམ་ག་གག་པ་ག་འན་ཚོགས༔
checham damtsik chikpé rigdzin tsok
Brothers and sisters, gathering of vidyādharas who share one and the same samaya,

་ནས་བང་ེ་ང་བ་མ་ཐོབ་བར༔
dené zung té changchub matob bar
From now on, until enlightenment is realized,

་འལ་ི་གག་ན་་འོགས་པར་ཤོག༔
mindral chitsuk gyen du drokpar shok
Without ever separating, remain as the jewel ornament on the crown of my head!

བདག་ས་ས་གམ་ན་་ོ་གམ་ལ༔
dak gi dü sum küntu go sum yul
When all past, present and future perceptions of my body, speech and mind,

ཐ་ན་ི་ལམ་གད་་འེང་པ་༔
tana milam nyi du trengpé tsé
Even those of dream and sleep, arise

་མ་ཡབ་མ་མད་མ་མཐོང་བར་ཤོག༔
lama yabyum checham tongwar shok
May I see them as the guru and consort, and vajra brothers and sisters

་གང་གས་ི་དེས་པ་ན་འབ་ང༌༔
ku sung tuk kyi gyepa kün drub ching
May I please your body, speech and mind,

དད་ས་གང་བ་ིད་ས་བེན་པར་ཤོག༔ 15
དད་ས་གང་བ་ིད་ས་བེན་པར་ཤོག༔
dé gü dungwé sishyü tenpar shok
And serve you with the deepest devotion and respect!

་འ་ང་བ་བ་པར་ར་པ་༔
tsé di nangwa nubpar gyurpé tsé
When perceptions of this life fade away, and

འ་བ་དང་པོ་འོད་གསལ་ས་ི་༔
chiwa dangpo ösal chö kyi ku
At the moment of death, when first the dharmakāya luminosity dawns,

་ས་ལ་ོགས་བན་པ་ཐོབ་ནས་ང༌༔
ngoshé tsal dzok tenpa tob né kyang
Having recognised, perfected the strength and gained stability,

ས་་འོད་དཔག་ད་དང་དེར་ད་པར༔
chöku öpakmé dang yermépar
By not separating from the ‘Limitless Light’ of dharmakāya Amitābha,

ཀ་དག་ས་་དིངས་་ོལ་བར་ཤོག༔
kadak chökü ying su drolwar shok
May I be liberated into the dharmakāya space of primordial purity!

རང་ག་ས་ར་རང་ལ་མ་ོགས་ནས༔
rangrig chökur rang tsal madzok né
If my rigpa has not perfected its own risings into dharmakāya

བར་དོ་ང་ས་རང་ང་ར་ཤར་ན༔
bardö nang shé rangnang lhar shar na
And perceptions and awareness of the bardo arise as self-appearing deities,

རང་མས་དག་པ་ལ་་་འོད་༔
rangsem dakpé tsal du ngotrö dé
Introducing my own mind to its own pure energy, and

་འོད་ར་གམ་མདངས་ན་རང་ར་བཅས༔
dra özer sum dang den rangdrar ché
Manifesting as sound, colour, light and radiance, with its own self-sound,

་ན་ལོངས་་ང་་ོལ་བར་ཤོག༔ 16
་ན་ལོངས་་ང་་ོལ་བར་ཤོག༔
nga den longkü shying du drolwar shok
May I be liberated into the pure saṃbhogakāya realm complete with its five certainties!

་ར་རང་ག་ཚད་ལ་མ་བ་ནས༔
detar rangrig tsé la mapeb né
So, if my rigpa does not mature into its fullness,

ིད་པ་བར་དོ་འལ་པས་གངས་ར་ན༔
sipa bardö trulpé yeng gyur na
And I am distracted by the delusory appearances of the bardo of becoming,

ོ་ེ་ལ་པོ་ཡབ་མ་ེས་ན་༔
dorjé gyalpo yabyum jedren té
By remembering the Vajra Sovereign and his consort,

ང་གསལ་མར་་འ་ས་ད་བེན་ནས༔
nangsal marmé di yi gyü ten né
And by virtue of this lamp of appearance and luminosity,

དཔའ་བོ་མཁའ་འོ་ཚོགས་ིས་ཡོངས་བོར་༔
pawo khandrö tsok kyi yong kor té
Completely surrounded by a gathering of vīras and ḍākinīs,

མཁའ་ོད་དག་པ་གནས་་ོལ་བར་ཤོག༔
khachö dakpé né su drolwar shok
May I be liberated into the pure celestial domain!

ལས་ི་དབང་ས་གས་ག་ལ་མཐོང་ང༌༔
lé kyi wang gi rik druk yul tong shying
Whilst I see the realms of the six classes of beings dominated by their past karma,

བག་ཆགས་དབང་ས་འར་བ་འར་འམས་ང༌༔
bakchak wang gi khorwa dir khyam kyang
And I wander in this saṃsāra, driven by habitual tendencies,

བེད་ོགས་ཟབ་མོ་འ་ས་མཚམས་ར་ནས༔
kyedzok zabmo di yi tsamjar né
Through practising together these profound generation and completion phases,

དལ་འོར་བ་བད་ན་པ་ས་ཐོབ་ེ༔ 17
དལ་འོར་བ་བད་ན་པ་ས་ཐོབ་ེ༔
daljor chobgyé denpé lü tob té
I have obtained a free and well-favoured human body;

དིལ་འར་གག་་ཚོགས་པ་ེན་འེལ་དང༌༔
kyilkhor chik tu tsokpé tendrel dang
Through the auspicious tendrel of gathering in this one maṇḍala,

མར་་གག་ལ་བས་པ་ང་འན་ིས༔
marmé chik la tepé tingdzin gyi
And through the samādhi of focusing on this one lamp,

་འལ་ཚོམ་་གག་་ཚོགས་པར་ཤོག༔
mindral tsombu chik tu tsokpar shok
May we all unite in the one mandala gathering, and never separate!

་་འཕགས་མག་་དམ་ར་ར་ང༌༔
de tsé pakchok yidam lhar gyur shying
At that time, transforming into the noble, supreme chosen deity,

ོ་ེ་ོབ་དཔོན་མས་པ་་ིན་ིས༔
dorjé lobpön jampé kudrin gyi
And through the loving kindness of the vajra master,

ཐོས་བསམ་བོམ་གམ་ཡང་དག་རང་ད་ན༔
tö sam gom sum yangdak ranggyü den
May my mindstream be penetrated by perfect hearing, contemplation and meditation, and

ལ་བན་ོད་ལ་ར་འ་ན་་ང༌༔
tsulshyin chö la nyertsé kün shyi shying
Pacifying all harm and dangers, through practising according to the Dharma,

བབ་པ་འས་་མཐར་ིན་འབ་པར་ཤོག༔
drubpé drebu tarchin drubpar shok
May I realize the ultimate fruition of accomplishment!

དས་བ་མ་གས་མག་་ནོར་འཆང་ང༌༔
ngödrub nam nyi chok gi nor chang shying
As one who holds the supreme jewel of the two siddhis,

མ་དག་འོ་བ་ག་་ཁམས་མས་༔ 18
མ་དག་འོ་བ་ག་་ཁམས་མས་༔
madak drowa druk gi kham nam su
In the realms of the six classes of impure beings,

ལ་གས་ེ་གས་དམངས་གས་མ་་གས༔
gyalrik jé'u rik mangrik dramzé rik
Whether as a warrior, merchant, low caste or priest,

གདོལ་པ་ད་ད་ེ་ད་ོང་དང༌༔
dolpa bümé khyé'u gejong dang
Labourer, woman, child or śramaṇa,

ན་་་དང་བབ་གནས་གས་ེད་མཁན༔
küntugyu dang lab né rikjé khen
A sage, expert in all kinds of learning,

གས་ི་བར་བ་དང་་མ་བར་བ༔
rik kyi kurwa dang ni makurwa
Born in a family of honour or disrepute,

ད་དང་བོད་དང་ནད་པ་ས་་དང༌༔
mé dang tö dang nepa chöma dang
Low or high, invalid or teacher of Buddhadharma,

་དང་་གས་ོང་ེར་ོང་མོ་བ༔
ja dang ridak drongkhyer longmowa
Bird or beast or beggar in the city—

གང་ལ་གང་འལ་་ལ་ར་མན་༔
gangla gang dul dé la der tün du
Teaching each and every being, in whichever way they need,

་ཚོགས་གགས་ིས་འོ་བ་འལ་བར་ཤོག༔
natsok zuk kyi drowa dulwar shok
May I take on different forms in order to train beings!

ིན་དང་ན་་དོན་མན་དོན་ོད་སོགས༔
jin dang nyenma döntün dönchö sok
Generosity, pleasing speech, the right message, and beneficial behaviour:

བ་བ་མ་པ་བ་་དང་ོགས་བཅས༔
duwa nampa shyi yi pungdrok ché
Keeping to these four ways of attracting disciples,

ཐབས་ལ་མཁས་པ་མ་ངས་དཔག་ད་ིས༔ 19
ཐབས་ལ་མཁས་པ་མ་ངས་དཔག་ད་ིས༔
tab la khepé namdrang pakmé kyi
And skilled in an immeasurable number of methods,

རང་ལ་གང་ན་ས་ི་ཆར་འབས་ང༌༔
rangkal gangden chö kyi char beb shing
May I pour down a rain of Dharma, according to the needs of each one,

ཕ་མ་འོ་ག་འར་བ་ལས་ོལ་ང༌༔
pama dro druk khorwa lé drol shying
Liberate the six classes of beings, my fathers and mothers, from saṃsāra

མ་ག་ན་པ་ོན་་ེད་པར་ཤོག༔
marik münpé drönmé jepar shok
And be a lamp to dispel the darkness of ignorance!

ང་ིད་འར་འདས་ས་དིངས་་གནས་ོང༌༔
nangsi khordé chöying yé né long
Since all that appears and exists, saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, is from the very beginning
perfectly contained within the expanse of dharmadhātu,

མ་ག་དག་པ་རང་ང་ོ་ེ་འཆང༌༔
marik dakpa rangjung dorjé chang
And ignorance when purified is the naturally arisen supreme vajra,

་ོལ་ད་པར་འོ་ན་མ་གག་༔
jatsol mepar dro kün chamchik tu
May all beings, effortlessly, as one,

གས་བདག་་དམ་་དང་དེར་ད་པར༔
rikdak yidam lha dang yermé par
Be indivisible from the yidam, the Lord of Buddha families,

གས་་ད་པ་འས་་ཐོབ་པར་ཤོག༔
nyisu mepé drebu tobpar shok
And obtain the fruition of nonduality!

Light Offering Aspiration Prayer

ༀ་ཿྃ།
om ah hung
Oṃ āḥ hūṃ

མར་་འོད་ང་འཇའ་འོད་། །
marmé ö nang ja ö du
May the light of this lamp become rainbow light,

ར་པས་གནམ་ས་བར་ང་བ། །
gyurpé nam sa bar nang khyab
Filling the sky, the earth and the space between,

ནང་ནས་མད་པ་་མོ་དང་། །
nang né chöpé lhamo dang
And from this light may offering goddesses emerge,

གང་འདོད་ལོངས་ོད་འང་ར་ག །
gang dö longchö jung gyur chik
Together with desirable gifts and sensory delights.

་མ་་དམ་དན་མག་གམ། །
lama yidam könchok sum
To the guru, chosen deities, and the Three Jewels,

མཁའ་འོ་ས་ོང་ཚོགས་བཅས་ལ། །
khandro chökyong tsok ché la
And also the hosts of ḍākinīs and dharma-protectors,

དས་འོར་ད་ིས་ལ་པ་། །
ngö jor yi kyi trulpa yi
I offer this lamp of the brilliant, clear appearance

ང་གསལ་མར་་འ་འལ་ལོ། །
nang sal marmé di bul lo
Of real gifts and those imagined by the mind.

མར་་ལ་བ་བསོད་ནམས་ིས། །
marmé pulwé sönam kyi
Through the merit of offering this light,

མ་ག་ན་པ་སངས་བར་ཤོག ། 22
མ་ག་ན་པ་སངས་བར་ཤོག །
marik münpa sangwar shok
May the darkness of ignorance be dispelled!

ལས་ངན་ིག་ིབ་དག་པར་ཤོག །
lé ngen dik drip dakpar shok
May misdeeds, harms and obscurations all be purified!

ེན་ངན་བར་ཆད་་བར་ཤོག །
kyen ngen barché shyiwar shok
May adversity and obstacles be overcome!

་དང་བསོད་ནམས་འབར་ར་ག །
tsé dang sönam bar gyur chik
May my life-force and merit blaze forth!

ཉམས་ོགས་ཡོན་ཏན་འབར་ར་ག །
nyam tok yönten bar gyur chik
May my qualities of experience and realization blaze forth!

སངས་ས་བན་པ་འབར་ར་ག །
sangyé tenpa bar gyur chik
May the Buddhist teachings long remain ablaze!

འོ་ལ་བ་ིད་འབར་ར་ག །
dro la dekyi bar gyur chik
And may happiness and well-being blaze throughout the world!

ས་མར་་ོན་ལམ་འ་་ལ་འོར་ཞབས་དཀར་བས་ར་བའོ། །ས་མ་།། །།
