Dear Students,

The title of the group project should be ‘Financial Statement Analysis of ………….(name of company)’.
Please read the following instructions carefully and abide by them.

Most important points:

 The data must be taken for five years (2014-15 to 2018-19) from annual reports of the
company.
 The final report is to be submitted by 7th September 2019 on moodle (attached excel sheet.)
and the file name should have group no.
 Sheet 1 should contain the title and name of students in their respective groups. Sheet 2
should contain Balance Sheet and Statement of P&L. You can copy the data from annual
report and paste on the excel sheet.

The project must have the following:

1. Industry Overview (Sheet 3)
2. Summary of Management Discussion & Analysis for 2018-19
3. Company Analysis: Ratio Analysis with interpretation for last five years. It would include
i. Return on Investment Ratios, Profit Margin Ratios, DuPont Analysis (Sheet 4)
ii. Solvency Ratios (Sheet 5)
iii. Liquidity Ratios (Sheet 6)
iv. Resource Efficiency or Turnover ratios (Sheet 7)
v. Capital Market ratios viz. P/E, P/BV (Sheet 8)
4. Conclusion (Write about your opinion about the company as an investor, lender and supplier
with reasons)

You are advised to read the entire annual report of the company being analyzed to do a meaningful
analysis and interpretation.

– It would obviously count for marks in AF
– It can be added as a project undertaken in your CV
– A little additional effort can help you publish a good research paper from this project
