Unit Title
Angles and Measurement of Areas

Grade Level
6th grade

Time
2 lesson hours

Content
Learning Outcomes [ASSURE (State Objectives)]
When given an angle, students will correctly draw one angle which have the same measurement of the given angle

Instructional Materials & Media [ASSURE (Select Strategies, Technology, Media and Materials)]
 Teacher will use PowToon video to show how to draw an angle which is equal to an angle.
 Work-sheets

Learning-Teaching Methods [ASSURE (Select Strategies, Technology, Media and Materials)]

 Teacher formed a work-sheet about identical angles and students will be pair for cooperative learning.
 Discussion how to draw

Teaching Activities [ASSURE (Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials and Require Learner Participation)]
 Teacher distribute the worksheet about identical angle students to draw these angles by using protractor
or compasses
 Teacher prepared an activity that there is a hole clock to show identical angles.

Individual Learning Activities -work-sheet

Group Learning Activities -activity about hole clock

Summary
Angles whose measurements are equal each other are identical angles. To draw them students use compasses and
protractor.

Explanation
Write the points regarding to the measurement and evaluation which you want to explain. (If any)
Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan
Teacher will start by informing students about the subject to be covered today. Teacher will say that ‘We learnt
about what angle is in previous lesson, and we are going to learn what identical angles are and how we can draw
them.’ Teacher will open the PowToon that the teacher prepared before to show students how to draw identical
angles.
After s/he show the video, s/he would distribute the worksheet about identical angle students to draw these angles
by using protractor or compasses. After they draw, they discuss with their pair how to draw.

Teacher will want two students to show how they use two different methods to draw. Thus, all students can easily
see what they have to do.
Teacher will ask students ‘Is there any places where we see identical angles in daily life?’. Teacher is expected to
answer is clock. Thus, teacher prepared an activity that there is a hole clock and s/he want students to show
identical angles in this clock. Moreover, teacher give ten minutes to this activity. Therefore, students’ information
become more permanent.

Example of expected answer:

For gearing up, teacher will ask question What is the identical angle of 13.45? Firstly, students should calculate the
angle and they try to find an identical angle.
Teacher will ask students that ‘Does anyone want to summarize what we have learned today?’
Both teacher and students will summarize the lesson and finish the lesson.
Back-up plan: If there is a technological problem, teacher would draw the angle by using blackboard and
compasses and protractor.
