No.1: Set your outcome (Begin with the end in mind, the second habit)

First of all, decide what makes you read that book and what to get out of this book. Know your outcome
in advance and it’s even better if you write them down someplace and fix with a deadline that from that
date, I’ll be able to cope with my problem successfully with the help of this book. The activity would
strengthen your aim to read and learn for the book to the best.

No.2: Go through the executive summary before you start reading the book.

Just google it, the executive summary of ___ book, and you will have plenty of summaries, read one or
two. you can also go to youtube.com and have the audio/video summary of the book in English as well
as Hindi or Urdu, that’ll be great for you. The summary would enable you to identify the symptoms of
your problem and how this book would help you counter them. Great hun!

No.3: Skim and get the feel

Before formally start reading the book, get the feel of the book by skimming through it. Read the list of
content, how many chapters are there and what chapters appeal you the most. Flicker through the
pages at random, read some passages abstractly from anywhere to get familiar with the book and your
target to get from the book.

No.4: Keep track of your learning

It’s like being lost in a jungle and you forget to keep track of your movement, you’ll always be in the
jungle. Keep a track of the course. Of learning. One way is to take a highlighter and mark the important
words, sentences, any quote or a paragraph that would help to you track back your learning. Secondly
take notes of the lessons you learn gradually whether a tip, trick or technique or even an exercise.
Instead of copying, try rewriting them in your wording, English or Urdu. This would accelerate the
learning growth.
