• EPT is similar to TOEFL (Test Of English as a
Foreign Language).
• TOEFL is divided into three sections:
• 1. Listening (50 questions)
• 2. Structure and Written Expression (40
questions)
• 3. Reading (50 questions)

Structure & Written Expression
• Structure (15 numbers)
• Objective: Able to identify and make a well
structured sentence by choosing one
appropriate answer (a, b, c, or d).
• Example:

Written expression
• Written Expression(25 numbers)
• Objective: having the ability to identify a well
structured sentence so that the students are
able to identify the incorrect part written on
the sentence.

• The Subject has to be appropriated (cocok)
with its verb.
• Example:

• Pay attention to the subject, whether it is
singular or plural.
• Pay attention to the tenses.
Parallel structure
• Parallel structure occurs if a word or a clause is
connected with another word or clause by using a
connector, e.g: and, but, or, both....and, either .....
or, neither.....nor, and comparison.
