Standard. There are 6 levels to achieve: A1 and A2 for beginners. B1 and
B2 for intermediate and C1 & C2 for Advanced Students.

1.8 VOCABULARY. PARTS OF
SPEECH. 1/2
The parts of speech are the categories to which all words belong. They let us classify what a
word does in a sentence.
VERBS. Indicate an action or a state of being.
NOUNS. Names of people, places, things, ideas or concepts.
DETERMINERS. Go with a noun or a noun phrase to shape its meaning.
PRONOUNS. Replace a noun or a noun phrase, so you don´t have to keep repeating it.
ADJECTIVES. Describe a noun, usually answering the question “what kind?” or “which one?”

ADVERBS. Describe a verb, adjective, or other adverb, usually answering the question
“Where?”, “When?” “How?” or “Why?” . Thet usually end in –ly.
PREPOSITIONS. Tie nouns to other information in the sentence. A prepositional phrase can
work as an adjective describing a noun; or as an adverb, describing a verb, adjective or other
adverb. In, on, at, by. In the middle, by the lake.
CONJUNCTIONS. Join words, phrases, or clauses in an sentence. And, but, either.
INTERJECTIONS. Are outbursts that indicate strong emotion Ouch! Awesome! Oh, no!
