Why you can’t ignore Pinterest SEO?

• Pinterest is both – a search engine and a social media site.

• SEO for Pinterest is not that complicated as for Google.
• You can compete for popular keywords even with a new website!

STEP 1: Make sure your Pinterest Account is ready for SEO

For all the three steps use my guide published here.

1. Create a business account on Pinterest or convert from personal account.
2. Verify your domain.
3. Enable Rich pins.

STEP 2: Do keyword research on Pinterest

√√ Start typing in the keyword which you are thinking about, and Pinterest
shows you suggested additional words.
√√ These search phrases are shown from left to right, with most popular
keywords being on the left.
√√ If you click on one of the suggestions, it shows you more specific search
phrases.

STEP 3: Improve your Pinterest profile for the best
performance

To get your account higher in search results for targeted keyword(s):

1. Include keyword(s) into your profile name on Pinterest.
2. Include keyword(s) into your profile description on Pinterest.

STEP 4: Build Pinterest boards with SEO in mind

√√ Add targeted keyword to the beginning of your Board name.

√√ Add targeted keywords (several of them will fit) into a board description (up
to 500 characters).
√√ Select board Category in the settings (if no category for your board, choose
Other).

STEP 5: Craft an ideally SEO optimized pin for Pinterest

√√  Add targeted keyword(s) to page SEO title

√√  Add targeted keyword(s) to page SEO description
√√  Add targeted keyword(s) to pin description

STEP 6: Add keywords as hashtags in pin descriptions

√√ To find popular hashtags for your pin, start saving the pin from your website
on a smartphone or using Pinterest browser extension.
√√ Pinterest will suggest popular hashtags that start with the same word.
√√ Use a max of 3-5 hashtags per pin to avoid spam filter on Pinterest.

STEP 7: Save pins first to the most relevant boards

√√ Ideal board title should have the same exact keyword you are targeting in the
pin.
√√ But if not possible, find the MOST relevant board on your profile and make
the first pin there.
√√ This will give Pinterest the right keyword context for your new pin.
