PURIFIER STARTING PROCEDURE

1. Valves to be opened before starting Purifier:


(a) Check valve 32 v at outlet of HFO settling Tank is open and Valve 22v of HFO service Tank is open.
(b)Check HFO Purifier Supply Pump Suction and Discharge valve open .(37v and 40v for Pump 2 and 36 v
And 39v for Pump1).Close interconnection valve 41 v which is at discharge side of pump.
(c) Adjust Feedrate using valves 56v for pump 2 and 55v for pump1 .
(d) Open Heater inlet valves 42 v for Heater 1 and 46 v for Heater 2.
(e) Check oil outlet valve 44 v for Px1 and 50 v for Px2 are open.
(f) Check Sludge discharge valve 68v for Px1 and 69V for Px 2 open.
(g) Start the oil feed pump from the pump starter.Open steam valve to Heater.
2. Press the SEPARATION BUTTON TO ACTIVATE THE EPC-50.

3 . Before the separator can be started , a number of questions scroll across the display which have to be

answered

Has the bowl been dismantled? + = YES , - = NO

4.If no work has been carried out press(-) button,If YES then Assembled according to manual ?+ = YES,- = NO.

5. Push the separator start button

6.Listen and Observe, if any vibration or abnormal noise.

7. The separator speed and Start are shown alternatively in the display until the separator is at full speed

8.Check the oil feed temperature by pressing the (+) button until TT1 is shown on the display

9.Wait until the oil feed temperature is correct :

Heavy fuel mode 98 degree Celsius

Lube oil mode 95 degree Celsius (trunk Engine) or 90 degree Celsius (cross head engines)

10. When the Separator has reached the correct speed and oil temperature , press process start button on

the operator panel to start the separation process.

To Stop the Purifier:

1.Stop the system by pushing the SEPARATION button on the operators panel.The yellow LED for separator

Stop sequence starts to flash and sludge discharge is initiated and close heater steam inlet valve.

2.When the oil feed temperature has started to drop ,the oil feed pump is switched off automatically and

Standst is displayed.

3.When the separator comes to a complete standstill Standst is displayed.
