SPEAKERS PROFILES About the Seminar

Dr. Abdul Azim Akbar Consultant in Oil, Gas,
Petrochemicals, Energy, Business Management and
Project Management. He has vast experience with the
UAE’s Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), one
of the major oil company in the world. During this time
ADNOC has grown from a small oil exporting firm to a
diversified conglomerate operating in all sectors of the

oil, gas and petrochemicals industries. He had held

Technology in some form or other has been an essential factor in the relentless march of
human civilization for a better future but recent technological development are posing a
grave threat to human employment. Technology developments started from Stone Age with
the development of agriculture and hunting tools followed later by the invention of wheel.

Industrial revolution which began in 18 century was a major step in industrialization

through technology. The digital transformation started during later part of 20 century with
the development of digital computers and the information and communications technology.
Technology developments throughout history have generally resulted in loss of some
existing jobs due to development of labour saving devices.
