Statement of the Problem

This research will assess the academic performance in integral calculus of stem and
non-stem graduates of k-12 program taking industrial engineering at UC-main SY 2018-
2019 and SY 2019-2020.
This study focuses to answer the following questions:

1. What is the profile of the students in terms of:


1.1. Gender
1.2. Age
1.3. Senior High School (SHS) Strand

2. What is the academic performance of STEM and Non-STEM students graduates of


K-12 program taking Industrial Engineering at UC-Main in terms of departmental
average?

3. Are there any significant effects between taking up STEM strand and Non-STEM
strands in taking up Industrial Engineering?

Null Hypothesis

Based on the objectives of the study, respondents will be assessed at 0.05 level of
significance.

H0 : There is no significant difference between the academic performance in integral


calculus of stem and non-stem students.
