BASIC SCAFFOLD REQUIREMENTS

1 An approved Scaffold Supervisor to supervise

erection.
2 Approved scaffolders to erect, modify,
dismantle, etc.
3 Inspected every week (seven days) by an
approved scaffold inspector.
4 Identified as SAFE or NOT SAFE to use.
5 Duty (loading capacity) identified.
6 A secure ladder for access.
7 Ladder of sufficient length.
8 Toe-boards, guardrail (1.1mtr) and mid-rail.
9 Fully boarded platform.
10 Base plates under all standards.
11 Sole plate at least 1,000cm2 on firm ground.
12 Sole plate at least 1,700cm2 on soft ground.
13 Height of working platform on tower scaffolds
not to exceed 3 times the minimum base side.
14 Wheels on mobile to be locked when in use.
