Philosophy of Education

Education is very important in every one’s life because it is a process of educating or

being educated. It is a field of study that deals with the methods of teaching and learning in
school. For me, my own personal philosophy of education is that students are the primary
consideration of the teaching-learning process , in short , student-centered. My goal as a
teacher is to develop life-long learners that take initiative and responsibility in their own
learning. Thus it is my responsibility to research and innovate ways that will help in achieving
my goal.

Students are diverse in multiple ways; family background, status in life, culture, gender,
and most especially in the way they learn thing. Indeed, it is expected that in order to achieve
the successful teaching-learning process, the teacher should teach concepts and lessons in
variety of teaching method and strategies. Students should learn with each other’s contribution
, meaning students should learn collaboratively and cooperatively. The students should create
or construct their own learning, thus real-life situations should be integrated in teaching.
Student learns best when they use multiple of their senses, thus the teaching should include
visual aids and that caters tactile, kinaesthetic, visual and auditory learners. Lastly, students
learn best when they feel unthreatened in entering the school or classroom. Thus conducive
learning environment that is well-ventilated, wide-spaced, well-lighted and composed of
healthy and nontoxic persons to the learner is necessary.

Statements above are the considerations in developing a life-long learner that takes
responsibility and initiative in his/her learning. Obviously, it is not that easy. It requires hard
work, effort and much time. Despite the things that make effective teaching-learning process
hard to attain, teaching profession and in that way a teacher contributes to the child’s success
itself and as well as to the benefit of everybody In the community helping the economy by
producing professionals.
