I am writing this letter in support of Mr. Mahir Javeri who is applying to the Master of
Science/Engineering. program at your esteemed University. I have known Mahir in my capacity
as his Professor for over four three years during which, I taught him multiple courses including
Strength of Materials, Theory of Machines, Machine Design-I, Automotive design and Autotronics.

Through my observations and interactions with Mahir during this time, I would like to affirm that
Mahir is a patient, attentive, inquisitive, methodical student with a positive attitude towards
learning in and outside the classroom. He asks relevant questions that make others curious and
think of innovative solutions to problem solving. He is passionate about his area of focus and has
taken up research assignments that promote application of engine efficiency using alternative
biofuels.

Mahir is a teamplayer who has led his peers to achieve desired output on class and research
projects, surpassing my expectations on most occasions. He is always willing to take up projects
outside ofbeyond the his coursework to improve his course understanding of course. Mahir’s
work on an infographic on cam profiles for machine design, as well as his participation in the
Formula Supra and NKRC team show his constant drive for knowledge in the real world.

Throughout his course of study, Mahir has shown deep interest in practical aided learning
techniques. He performed extremely well in his assignments on machine design and automotive
design, learning the use of CAD and analysis software such as SolidWorks and ANSYS. Further,
for his final year project, Mahir in concurrence with his team chose an underexplored topic of
related tobiofuelvalue - ‘Evaluation of performance and emissions characteristics of a diesel
engine on application of palm acid methyl ester and its blends’ - which provided promising
results. In addition, Mahir has also gained skills through workshops and activities, such as
welding and engine maintenance, which are highly of more valuable for an engineer. Mahir has
clearly shown his aspirations towards higher education.

Besides the academic record, Mahir’s participation in National Kart Racing Championship 2016,
a national level project competition, where he chaired design team of steering department clearly
displays his interest in the automotive sector. In addition, he led the steering system design and
manufacturing team in SUPRA-SAE India Student formula 2018. As a person who is always
ready to take up responsibility, Mahir carries out his duties with immense dedication.

I have the deepest personal and professional respectadmiration for him, and sincerely believe
Mahir will bring his unique energy, optimism, passion, and tireless creativity to your class and
