 INTRODUCTION
World Ocean keeps many secrets,
the first among them is the mystery
of the BERMUDA TRIANGLE, also
known as Devil’s Triangle or
Hurricane Alley, where many ships
and airplanes have disappeared in
the visible time under mysterious
circumstances.

The legends about this area have

already been known for about 100
years, but nobody can still explain
strange phenomena.
 WHAT IS BERMUDA TRIANGLE
✓ It is the vast three-sided
segment of the Atlantic
Ocean bordered by
Bermuda, Puerto Rico and
Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

✓ Spans an area of around

500,000 square miles,
but some estimates are
up to three times larger.

After the Flight 19

disappearance on December
5th 1945, the loss of five
bombers led to a media hype
which began speculation about
the mystery of the triangle
NOTABLE HISTORICAL INCIDENTS
OF THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE
 1) USS CYCLOPS
USS cyclops (AC-4) was the second of four proteus-class colliers built for
the united states navy several years before world war I.
The loss of the ship and 306 crew and passengers without a trace within
the area known as the Bermuda triangle some time after 4 march 1918
remains the single largest loss of life in U.S. Naval history not directly
involving combat.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:-
• As it was wartime, she was thought to have been captured or sunk by a
German raider or submarine, because she was carrying 10,800 long
tons (11,000 t) of manganese ore used to produce munitions, but
German authorities at the time, and subsequently, denied any knowledge
of the vessel.
• The naval history & heritage command has stated she "probably sank in
an unexpected storm“ but the ultimate cause of the ship's loss is not
known.
 2) FLIGHT 19
One of the greatest mysteries of the Bermuda
Triangle is Flight 19. On December 5, 1945 at 2:10
pm five Avenger bombers disappeared flying over
the Atlantic.

At 4:45 One of the pilots said, " Damn it, if we could
just fly west we would get home; head west, damn it"

At 4:45 pm, James was instructed to
handover the control to his students, but
he did not listen
 3) GHOST SHIPS
A pleasure yacht was found adrift in
the Atlantic south of Bermuda on
September 26, 1955. All three guys
missing. Infamous hurricane “lone” hit
the yacht on 14th and 18th of
September.
 4) STAR TIGER & STAR ARIEL

Both the planes named Star

Tiger and Star Ariel
disappeared in consecutive
years 1948 and 1949,
while flying over Bermuda.
 5) DOUGLAS AIRLINE

The plane Douglas

Airline and all 28
members went missing
mysteriously while flying
from Puerto Rico to
Florida in 1948.

A HUTCHISON EFFECT
It Has Been Heard Several Times That
Ships And Aircraft Get Engulfed In Some
Kind Of Electronic Fog And The Fog Keeps
Moving Along With The Ship Or The
Plane. And Eventually, All The Electronic
Equipment And Other Instruments Start
Malfunctioning. Then The Ships And
Airplanes Either Disintegrate Or
Disappear Without A Trace. Vancouver
Based Scientist John Hutchison Through His
Experiments Has Shown Occurrence Of
Electronic Fog That Causes Some Strange
Phenomena.

✓A Compass Actually Points To The Magnetic North, While The Absolute
Geographic North Is Located At Greenland.
✓The Angular Gap Between The Absolute Geographic North And The
Magnetic North Is Known As The Compass Variation.
✓The ‘BERMUDA TRIANGLE’ Is One Of The Two Places On Earth That A
Magnetic Compass Does Point Towards True North.
✓If A Ship Moves Along A Specific Narrow Strip Within Bermuda Triangle, The
Magnetic North And The Absolute Geographic North Come Into The Same
Line, I.E. The Compass Variation Is ZERO.
✓So Accidents Or The Loss Can Happen All Over The World And Not Just In

✓The Gulf Stream Is An Ocean
Current That Originates In Gulf Of
Mexico And Then Flows Through
The Straits Of Florida Into The
North Atlantic.
✓In Essence, It Is A River Within An
Ocean, And Like A River, It Can
Does Carry Floating Objects. It
Has A Surface Velocity Of Up To
About 2.5 Meters Per Second (5.6
Mi/H)
 HURRICANE AND ROGUE WAVES
Hurricanes Are Powerful Storms, Which
Form In Tropical Waters And Have
Historically Cost Thousands Of Lives Lost
And Caused Billions Of Dollars In
Damage.
These Storms Have In The Past Caused A
Number Of Incidents Related To The
Triangle.
In Various Oceans Around The World,
Rogue Waves Have Caused Ships To
Sink And Oil Platforms To Topple. These
Waves, Were Considered To Be
Mystery Or A Myth.
 METHANE HYDRATES
✓Methane Lowers The Density Of The Water. The
Presence Of Methane Hydrates Indicates
Enormous Eruptions Of The Methane Bubbles
That Would Swamp A Ship, And Projected High
Into Air- Take Out Flying Airplanes, As Well.
✓Another Variant Is Possible. The Work Of
Aircraft Altimeters Is Based On The
Measurement Of Air Density. Because Of The
Spike Of Methane They Begin To Show, That
The Airplane Is Rising Unexpectedly. And The
Pilot Has To Lose Height Into Watered Swiftly
Plummeting.
 HUMAN ERROR

One Of The Most Cited Explanations In

Official Inquiries To The Loss Of Any
Aircraft Or Vessel Is Human Error Whether
Deliberate Or Accidental, Humans Have
Been Known To Make Mistakes Resulting In
Catastrophe, And Losses Within The
Bermuda Triangle Are No Exception.
 CONCLUSION

Since 1950.
✓It Is Impossible To Describe All The Hypotheses
Explaining Mysterious Events In This Research
Work, Which Take Place In Bermuda.

Study And Interesting Describes Are Waiting For
Us.
