Showing othgss’you can be responsible with budgeting the companies money, and being responsible wit the company. Another contribution you can make to the organization woulé’be, being very organized with your work and the space you use at work. Being a lead&fand a role model for your employees is very important because not only will it keep you on task, but it also will keep the employees on task as well, being able to communicate clearly is a good quality of being a leader. Not only is communication key in the workplace, but also setting deadlines for yourself and your employees is very important to make sure the work is being done within a certain time frame. The final characteristic of being a good manager is being able to motivate yourself and your employees. Being a good motivator for the people around you will not only improve the efficiency of the work, but also will improve the attitudes of your employees. If the manager isn’t being clear and direct about what they are saying it can be hard for the other person to not understand what the manager wants done. 18. It’s important because communication is key and sharing information with the employees is very important so everyone is on the same page. If the manager is gathering information and not sharing it with anyone, no progress is being made in that department and that will mess up the flow of work in the rest of the company. 19. It’s important because if they don’t have all the different aspects to completing planning activities they won't have everything completed. By networking and building connections with employees and other people with in the business it will become easier to get work done. 20. Some reasons might be because they might not be good at communicating, but are really good at getting work done. Another reason might be because they wouldn't be a good leader for other employees. 24. 22. 23. 24, Because it shows they can multitask, but also they have to split their time because they can’t just focus on their work or just mainly focus on supervisory responsibilities. The reason for this is because they wouldn’t be getting their work done but it would also show they can’t be a good supervisor because they are just focusing on their work. | think leading is the most important because if you aren’t taking control and leading the staff to do their jobs nothing will be done. If the leading aspect isn’t being done then the planning, organizing, and staffing aren’t being done either. Some ways are, they can have weekly meetings to go over what needs to be done for the week. Another way is they can make a calendar of all the things that need to be done and the dates they are due. They might go and find out what happened to the company, weather it be because they changed prices, or plans and people don’t like what the changed. By going back and looking at what the company has changed and when they started to change things around they might look at changing things back to when people were coming into the store. Case In Point ~ Thinking Critically ~ Answers. flue wile Q's 1 The cause to the managers not responding positively to his suggestions might be because they like the way things are going and the way everything is running within their department. Another reason might be, since they have been there for so long and know how the work flows, they don’t want to listen to his because they feel he doesn’t understand how they work. No I don’t think they are looking at all the different alternatives for Steves advice to changing things around. They just don’t want to listen and change what they are doing, so they all respond with this isn’t the right time to change things around. If they gave his advice a shot they might see improvement to the workflow, but they will never know because they aren’t giving Steve a fair shot. Steve could potentially get in trouble for not communicating to everyone. The other supervisors could also get really mad that Steve went ahead with his ideas and in the other supervisors eyes it could seem like Steve is going against them because he feels differently about certain things. | would ask Steve if he would like to go to a management class to get more knowledge behind it, and to feel more confident in changing things around within his department. 1 would tell him that communication is key and to be persistent in saying he would like to see change in a few different areas and to have group meetings to talk about potential change. Hopefully the other supervisors will understand Steve wants change and in the end he will get what he wants because he’s worked hard enough to get where he is. today.
