“The Level of Awareness among BS Information Technology Students in AMA Computer College

Fairview Campus about Phishing Strategies”

3.0 Area of Investigation

This study will be conducted at AMA Computer College Fairview Branch. Some of the students are

unaware of the possible consequences of using mobile devices and computers. The researchers of this

study are currently working to prevent phishing form spreading across the mobile world.

4.0 Reason for Choosing the Topic

The Researchers have experienced Phishing Attacks from cyber criminals that were ranked to illegal

activities. Some of the Researchers encountered phishing scams from internet advertisements, sms, and

fake websites. Due to the lack of awareness, it is very easy to become a victim of phishing attacks in the

cyber world, whether it is a social media or web browsing. The incident drove the researchers to prevent

phishing from spreading further harm.

5.0 Importance of the Study

The study will serve as precautionary measure and provide helpful information regarding phishing

strategies that can be used to elevate the level of awareness to students.

6.0 Target Users/Beneficiaries

The main target of the study is to determine the level of awareness among BS Information Technology

Students in AMA Computer College Fairview Campus about phishing strategies.

7.0 Similarities with the previous Study/Project

A similar study by Brandon Laur,” Information Security’s Perception of Phishing Tactics”, 2018. This

research will explain the phishing strategies and has a similar objective and output with the proposed

study.
